Just a thought for a vid...I remember you in a pixel game squad vid talking about the importance of nostalgia in video games.
It was so heartfelt and really connected with me and helped the healing, as I lost a friend who used to game with me, and this led me to create a games room.
Nostalgia is soooo important, and I feel you presented it so well and from the heart it actually connected with me alot and I'm sure many others too.
Please do a vid on nostalgia as you speak so nicely about the subject and you could ask others in the community such as Riff and Ricky etc their nostalgia feelings ...

I do think a deeper dive on the subject of nostalgia could be warranted, both from an academic as well as personal perspective on the subject. As a huge Borderlands (2) fan, I really enjoyed playing it on the Vita. Especially all of the available DLC. I remember using cross-save to finish the other DLC on PS3 with the same character.
agreed! nothing like camping for the long weekend and being able to play BL2 in the middle of nowhere while around the campfire w/ out lugging around a gaming laptop (that i didn’t own in the 1st place)

I definitely want to consciously avoid making EVERY video about game hunting at this time. The loop of it is a little “samey” and game hunting is only one of many aspects about the hobby worth highlighting.
I've just started my PS Vita collection. This video was super informative. I would usually pass on Vita games because it didn't have the manual so it's good to know that most didn't come with one. Love the videos, keep them coming!
Awesome! I’m glad the information was helpful. “Manual” may have even been too strong a term. Most of the initial releases had nothing in them, but some had single page inserts (as i showed in the video). A lot of the Limited Run and all of the PlayAsia games have manuals, but in most instances, the original case and artwork is all you need.

Dang memory cards indeed. Hard to tell how negative an impact they had - were consumers truly aware of their costly entry point, or was mobile gaming already rendering handhelds less attractive? Thanks for commenting.

Cool video man, your collection is insane, I bought a vita 2 years ago now here in Ireland and I'm near at 100 physical games, one of my favourite systems ever.

@@MortsGarageTop of the morning to you sir, even though I started my collection late, I was very lucky to get some games, I bought some eastasiasoft releases on playasia too, I'm currently playing Tokyo Xanadu, Freedom Wars and Un-Metal, very good games.

Great breakdown of a system I don't know much about. Would love to see some other collector's guides in the same style for some other systems, especially those weirder ones (Virtual Boy, Sega 32x/CD/Saturn, and Atari Jaguar). Obviously you would be able to put together a really great N64 one as well having what you do for the system.

The Persona 4 variant is BEAUTIFUL! One of my favorite series.
So glad I watched this, because I hate to admit it, but for some reason I always thought the PlayStation TV was for digital games only. I have no idea what ever put that thought into my head. Thanks Mort!

Its 2023 now..and im late to the party as per usual. Just bought a modded ps vita the other day.. im not one for modded systems personally (rather have the physical orignal system ect) but i wont lie the portability to play NES,SNES,Gameboy,Genesis, Atari,PS one,PSP,PSvita and so on, cant be beat! I know most phones can do the old school emulation but its not the same without the tactile controls..it has quickly become my go to system over my oled switch, its just easier to carry round..p.s. its my only modded system as i prefer the OG hardware and software
I still love my Vita - such a great console. I haven’t emulated mine, but the library of games is just so unique.
It would had been better if it would had the L2 and R2 and the memory proprietary stuff, also if it had a UMD drive.

really big point forgotten in this vs 3DS is that it was also equally flopping in step w/ the Vita due to the 3D screen causing eye stress in children under a certain age, as well as some adults. Nintendo had a lean launch title lineup, as opposed to the Vita which may have had the strongest support at launch of any console in history. Nintendo also saved the 3DS by literally giving away over 1/2 a dozen games digitally that used standard cheap memory cards. Sony could have done the same thing, but lacked backbone and were greedy, thus they decided to take the L way too early. lastly, the PS4 was on the horizon, thus sucking any margins towards help the fledging handheld.
Yes - I remember them giving away a bunch of titles early on while slashing the price much to the disappointment of early adopters.

Indeed I do! Mine is still sealed and I’m likely to sell it. I bought it a number of years ago and don’t know that I’m interested in playing it enough to open the seal on it.
@@MortsGarage at the time I sold mine one had not been sold on eBay in over 18 months. I charged $100 more than the last listed sale and it was gone in 20 min. Vita fans are rabid for physical games. Good video!

Vita is not an easy to collect
I’m not trying to get limited run games type physical games or the niche games I really don’t care and it’s still hard to collect.
Right now with the vita I’m trying to get every sony interactive games physical title that’s included on the box hebrew/greek language because I’m living in israel and i trying to do full set and I’m missing only 5 titles (little big planet vita, jak & daxter trilogy, soul sacrifice, the muppets & borderlands 2) and it’s hard to find them even on ebay it’s really difficult especially borderlands 2.
I also trying to get all the persona games as well most of the fighting games on the vita and they are not easy, just few days ago I found on amazin the persona 4 dancing game after I searched for an English copy for a cheap price after a long time and found dengeki bunko fighting climax ignition for less than 10 usd from buyee.
It’s hard enough in the US, I can’t imagine other territories. Best of luck to you on your search, and thanks for commenting.
