@@BetterthanbasicivyI hope it works for you! I end up washing them about once a week. It takes much less time to wash a small amount than a huge amount. It’s less overwhelming.
My husband is trying to convince me right now that we should give up Prime! I am so on the fence but also kinda feel like we gotta pull the band-aid off...
@Betterthanbasicivy it was definitely an adjustment at first. The only things I occasionally miss at this point are the prime exclusive shows and movies.
I stopped paying for Prime in 2024, and it's been such a great change. I want to get away from it completely. I'm looking forward to the day my kindle dies so I can switch to a new eReader.
This was so relatable Ivy! As always, you phrase it so eloquently. I think my lessons in 2024 were very similar; I need to use what I have instead of hopping on to the next shiny new thing. For me, I’d love to get more creative and use what I have and dupe vibes in 2025. I haven’t really used that much makeup in 2024 and I miss it and especially the aspect of getting creative.
Not to completely kill the mood but since you mentioned it, I think you should be aware that Scentbird is embroiled in a bit of a controversy at the moment, mainly in regards to its CEO doing some weird stuff. Not calling for a boycott necessarily, just think since you’re someone with a platform that you would want to know about it and make an informed decision for yourself if it’s a brand you wish to associate your channel with or not. Some creators on here have covered the situation so if you’re curious, definitely check it out.
The amazon one is so real. I bought one makeup item on there that I couldn't buy anywhere else where I live, and I almost fell down a rabbit hole and had to fight against myself really hard not to continue. My gosh.
Great video, Ivy!! My main thing that I want to improve upon next year is not being so lured in by sales. I want to be a person who buys what she needs when she runs out rather than one who has 50 million backups that she bought because there was yet another “amazing sale”! My positive and fun thing that I did differently was trying brighter shades of lipsticks. It was fun and it helped improve my confidence!
I too sometimes fall prey to the trapping of a sale so I am in the same boat with you! And that's awesome about trying out brighter colors and getting more experimental with your lipsticks this year!
Loving this video! You always come up with the best ideas for videos! I'm a professional procrastinator and brush-wise, I make a point of owning the bare minimum, and try and wash them every couple of days so that I hardly ever have to wash many. This ways, it's manageable for me. Also, since I don't have many, I HAVE to wash them. The fact that I do colourful makeup daily also helps: I rarely use the same colours on two consecutive days. Here's all of my UNsolicited advice, I hope it can help somebody in the comment section ❤❤
I’m in the exact same place with scent and over the same timeframe too. I’m not sure what the genesis of it was for me personally, but it seems to be in the zeitgeist.
For brushes, I use a small cup where my dirty ones go and then I wash them when it gets full
That's such a good idea, I'm gonna start doing this too
Ok brilliant, consider this my new thing.

We gave up Amazon at our house about 5 years ago and it is hands down one of the best things we have ever done.

Dupe the vibes in ‘25 sounds like a great tag line/project to me!
For Amazon, I don’t have prime, just my partner does. It makes it easier to avoid some impulse items from there.
Canceled Prime a few months ago and I feel so good about it

Oy! Had no idea and I’ll have to look into it 👀

I think closing the door and having a hard and fast “not allowed” for me is the best path forward cause it’s too slippery a slope otherwise

I think I let me laziness overrule my common sense and it came back to bite me in the ass!
I too started to use lip liner this year, lol. I never knew the importance of it either.
All of the sudden it became one of my most important products!
i loooooved this!! so good to see you on youtube too
I’m still so in love with ALL the Clovemas videos you did. Smashed it!

I’m happy to finally feel comfortable and excited experimenting! Not sure about you but seriously took me forever to get here!

Love youuuu
