Wow!! This vid drives how how important it is to really read the math questions.

Another way I thought of solving this problem was dividing the sale price by 130% because we know the original price is priced at "100%", but since this is an increase, it must go up 130% to match the dealership price. Therefore, dividing $43680 by 1.3 = $33,600. A slightly faster way of thinking about this problem. But is this logic reasonable for any problem similar to this? Or is it better to solve it as an equation in case they add random numbers?

Your logic is perfect. Works everytime.

Can this problem be solved using is/of = %/100 ?

Yes as long as you understand that 43680 is 130% of the original cost.

Omg amazing . I was wondering how I got a 75% in math. It’s probably due to these silly mistakes. I’m retaking and this time I’ll be more careful. Thank you so much

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a 75%, but I hear that some schools are more competitive than others. I hope the tutorials will help you raise your score.

do you have this problem on your video..... Ashely needs a pair of shoes for running and another pair for work. the local shoe store has a sale this week. The sale states that you can buy one pair of shoes and get 40% off a second pair of equal or lesser value. The running shoes retail for $75 and the work shoes she would like retails for $58. How much to nearest dollar will Ashely spend, excluding tax on both pairs of shoes if she takes advantage of the sale?

This is actually problem 29 on my free practice test. Go to www.bcraftmath.com/atitteas and check out the section where I have the free practice test as well as individual video solutions for every single problem on that test.
