    I am taking my TEAS test for the 5th time, and I am really at the urge of giving up being honest. I feel like the time that is given to us, is not enough time. I really suck at math and the timing is what freaks me out the most and I end up just guessing. I take forever to calculate my answers. Any tips or advance? I will take the TEAS test again if I end up not getting the score that I like. I don't want to give up!!!!

      Practice, practice, practice. It may be beneficial to seek private tutoring from someone (such as myself). I have tutored MANY students for the TEAS test and I can quickly pinpoint weaknesses in the building blocks of mathematics.

    Hello, I had a practice question, perhaps similar to the second question, where it gives two percentages tax and tip and asks us to find how much was the food from the total. What I did was add the two percentages to get 23% and apply it to the $80.00 of the full price to find the price of the meal before tip and tax but it was incorrect. ATI TEAS wanted me to do something similar to what you did. May you help me further understand this problem? The problem: "A customer at a restaurant leaves $80 on the table to pay for the food, a 15% tip, and 8% sales tax. If both tip and sales tax were calculated from the cost of the food, which of the following was the cost of the food, rounded to the nearest cent."

      I calculated 61.60 but the correct answer is x+0.15x+0.08x=80 ----- x=65.04

    Hello! I am confused by the last one still? How do you know when to not do $120 times 50%?

    • @bcraftmath
      @bcraftmath  3 роки тому +1

      In all honesty, that comes with more and more practice. The 120 is AFTER the markup. That's the keyword here.

      @@bcraftmath is there a system for those? Like a specific formula by any chance?

      @@bcraftmath is it always just add 1 to whatever the percent is to find it when it is talking about the markup?

      @@shainachernizer6893 A system or formula.... The classic approach using "is/of = %/100" will work, but that too will require a lot of practice to understand where to put each number.
