I love how pure this song is. Really beautiful.
Between this and Taking Me Back I absolutely cannot wait for the new album to drop. I've been a huge fan of Jack since the very early days of the White Stripes and these songs seem to harken back to those days. Raw, powerful, and beautiful. I cannot wait.
I have also been a fan since De Stijl. I can't say I really love his newest stuff, but I'm happy that Jack is happy.

The past two years have been awful for medical professionals, and last night was particularly bad-several more patients died than usual, a couple of them from horrible , traumatic accidents. You just cannot imagine the gut-wrenching, wailing sounds that come from these families when we inform them that their loved ones didn’t make it. This happens every night, but last night was particularly hard due to the severity, amount, and ages of the patients (a couple were young children).
I’ve always been able to compartmentalise and keep it together, leaving my problems at the hospital-you have to in this line of work or you’ll burn out quite quickly. However, when I opened UA-cam this morning after work and watched this video, I just lost it. I haven’t cried that hard in so long. The simple, raw beauty of this song did something to help release these emotions I’ve kept bottled up for many months, and provided a much-needed and tremendously cathartic experience.
Thank you Mr. White, from the bottom of my heart, for the myriad pieces of art you create. Some of us may never realise how far-reaching the fruits of our endeavours will travel, and that’s ok. If our efforts touch even one person’s life, brighten someone’s day, or bring comfort where it’s needed, then we can say, with all conviction, that we’ve accomplished something beautiful. 🙂

I just realized that Jack was playing at UofPitt outdoors when we all went up for orientation in '19. It was a quiet night and as we walked along the water, we came upon a concert. Years ago I would be backstage at concerts, or getting tickets through our Larry Magid connections. Naturally, we climbed the wall, and watched from near the walkway. It was amazing! We will be attending April 14th, even though Baltimore is closer to home. Can't wait!

My aunt is in the hospital in an induced coma on a ventilator from covid they say she she might not make it and she is the biggest jack white fan ever. She has loved him ever since 1997. She has had her hair red for as long as I can remember (because he loves red heads) and it pains me so much she wont be able to hear this. I hope she makes it through and we can play it together. No matter what you believe in be it please send prayers or vibes or whatever you believe to be a high enough power to give her the strength to survive.
