    I made this recipe and loved it - other than it kept melting :( I researched a little and found that beeswax (2 tbsp) will solidify it so it doesn't melt - its perfect now! Thank you!!!!

    Hi there, I used your recipe to make my deodorant and it is marvelous. Here in New Zealand we are just coming into our summer season and it is blistering hot this year and my deodorant is awesome. Because I have menopause I used doTERRA's Peppermint, Lavender and Lemongrass. Thank you so much for sharing.

    Awesome video. I make this pretty much the same. A great way to not have it melt is using cocoa butter or beeswax and less coconut oil. To kill any bacteria or fungus I add a few drops of thyme or rosemary oil.

    Arrowroot is pronounced Arrow-Root not Air-Root, for the record. I make my own deodorant and I love using Dragons Blood oil for the scent. It doesn't smell feminine and people love the way it smells. I use Soy Wax instead of bee's wax too. I am a vegan and I avoid using a bee based product. I don't use the arrowroot. Instead, I use Cornstarch. Another great thing to know is that if you make this ahead and chill it in the refrigerator overnight uncapped it firms up better without losing its scent. After that, it thickens the longer it sits capped, after having been made.

    Hi, I have a question to the photosensitivity of all these products. I‘ve seen you use bergamot/lemon ect for a lot of different recipes (handsoap , deodorant, Parfüm ect) i always wonder if I would use these citrus oils in these mixtures, don’t I have to be super careful because of the sun? I’m pretty unsure about this and I want to try out so many of your things!

    • @ouroilyhouse
      @ouroilyhouse  5 років тому +1

      I have never had any issues but most citrus essential oils are photosensitive and should be used with caution if you apply it to skin that will be in direct sunlight. IF you are going to be using the recipes and then going to be out in the sun then you can make them without the citrus oils.

      Hey Lydia I seen where you said you used tons of Lemongrass. I just wanted to let you know that Lemongrass has an unusually low dilution rate max of 0.7% so be careful to not go over that percentage of you do it can have several adverse reactions and the one that would suck the most (for me at least) is you could be sensitized by it and wouldn't be able to use it any more due to things like rashes and hives even if the oil is in a diffuser and not even on your skin. Not trying to be a Debbie downer or anything I just wanted you to know so you'll be able to enjoy Lemongrass in the future ;-). You can find that info on Robert Tisserand's website (he is the leader in essential oil safety). ☮❤😁
