+1 for the Brendan Brady thumbnail! Caught my attention, anyway. 🥰
IAreSam OA mine too that thumbnail is the only reason why I watched this video in the first place. 😂😂😂😂😂
I love 'Misfits' This clip doesn't do the show justice. Watch the series from the beginning, so great! PS- Please do a top 10 of (any category) related to the TV show 'The Young Ones'!
One of my all time favourite shows. It's so clever and I always recommend it to anyone that wants to know a show to watch
Surprised, there's no Luther on here 😮
Threads was very frightening. Nuclear war was a very real, and present threat in the early 1980s.
A very similar, but earlier film, called 'The War Game' (1965), is even more frightening. So much so, that the BBC, despite comissioning it, banned it from broadcast for many years. It was deemed 'too realistic' - it had been made with the assistance of nuclear weapons experts and the UK's Civil Defence authorities. I saw it at school in the early 1970's - it was a sobering, shocking piece of work, which I remember being watched in total silence by pupils and staff, with members of both walking out at various times.
Seems real now too 💔
The twin hammer-wielding psychopaths from 'Luther' were definitely troubling (in fact, you could do an entire list of violent nutters from Luther); and several killings from 'Whitechapel', especially the old man killed by 'Pein fort et dure' - being crushed flat with slowly applied weights.
That scene in Spooks is one that sticks with you forever. It was so brutal.
Mum and I watched it and were shocked at what we saw
I've loved Spooks for years but I still can't bring myself to watch that episode. I definitely don't like watching the series 10 finale either because they killed off Ruth and she was my fave character. I wanted her and Harry to have a happy ending. I blubbld like a baby when she died in Harry's arms.
Bet it sticks like chip fat
Torchwood the Countyside is one of my favourite episodes. Don't get me wrong when I first watched it was in shock when I found out what happened.
OMG I was watching when Brendan threw the bloke in front of the train, don’t worry we’re ok 😆 it wasn’t even that violent because you see or hear nothing but the train, I just thought he got away haha That fight was brutal af tho…
Love Threads. A fantastic programme and i frequently watch it. Child of the 00s
Threads is such a gripping watch. Its a film on that list of movies everyone should see at least once.
I can only hope UTOPIA is getting its own list The opening, school shooting , Alices mum and Miller's husband are among my favourite
I like how 4 out of 10 of these are soaps because they are all sometimes terrifyingly violent
Agree
I now need to watch Misfits again.
I remember watching thread's and it was so so scary it seemed so real that it was going to be a real event in decade's to come truly shocking!!!
Soap tragedies deserve a list of their own, they are getting wilder and wilder every year
Alan Clarke's borstal drama "Scum" is still tough going today.
Yosser Hughes v Shake Hands. Boys from the Blackstuff.
One's that should've been on this list: Luke's 1999 R*pe in Hollyoaks Later, Even today it's a bit graffic from the character's screaming 🥺😕
Window scene in Line of Duty 😯
also the r*pe scene in This is England 😭
Dawn's baby kidnapped by her Doctor and house explosion in Eastenders.
Kat telling her dad that her uncle raped her and her daughter is the uncle's (Eastenders).
Sarah falling to her death after her parachute didn't work (Hollyoaks).
Emmerdale's Plane Crash 😭😭😭
Ross' acid attack (Emmerdale) and Ryan/Daisy's acid attack in Corrie were brutal af 😭
Threads should be 1-10 and 11-99 top 99 in 2 mimutes
Threads needed to be violent and extreme, given the politics of the day
The tram crash is iconic
In-between takes Barrowman would take his todger out and do a little dance.
Bobby was a creepy child on EastEnders. A young Norman Bates.
Torchwood: 'Countrycide'. All of it. Did it "Make me happy"? It did not.
I'm Surprised that The Cook Report wasn't featured on this as there were many moments from that show that would have qualified for this list!🤯
Lols dad in this is England 83 was fucking horrific.
The Bodyguard was pretty rough too, with the PM's driver being killed in an assassination attempt. That shot of the PM, covered in blood and brain matter is definitely up there.
Technically she wasn’t the PM but I agree.
I actually saw Simons death in Hollyoaks On tv When I was like 7 lol
See what made the Torchwood episode Countrycide truly horrifying is that monster like that are real.
Line of duty S2, woman thrown from window
I always remember was it holby city having a stabbing ? And the uproar that cause. As well as grange hill and one of the characters falling. These happened in the nineties and I still remember them clear as day
The only one in Holby City that i can think of was Maddy Young...? That was pretty shocking
I knew torchwood would at least be mentioned
The train scene on hollyoaks, I thought that was on hollyoaks later so it would have been on 10:30pm?
Their was a Guy Fawkes drama staring Kit Harrington which was quite violent
A character in the final series of misfits was literally turned inside out, the sound design is genuinely gross, it’s off-screen but, we see the aftermath, it’s unpleasant
I live in the States, and no one knows of these awesome shows! I recommend 'Misfits', 'Young Ones' and 'Monty Python' any chance I can😎🖤🤘😂
Gotta watch Threads again.
Does "Big Breadwinner Hog" mean nothing to you youngsters?
Great list it’s not like I remember in school I watched a film similar to theads called when the wind blows . about a nuclear bomb as well but its animation film I always found it fascinating how it was based on the short story by Raymond Biggs from the snowman
The only episode I've seen is Misfits, didn't think it was that bad, seen much worse
You’ve forgotten when Cain shot Sadie on Emmerdale.
Spooks is the only one that crosses the line for me, that is a bit much
Countrycide was definitely a pretty disturbing episode. Looking at it now, it does remind me of the Supernatural episode The Benders.
"Top 10 Most Violent Moments on British TV, but we're not going to show any of it and talk over the video, so if you've not seen the programme, you won't know what we're talking about".
Gee, thanks.🤔🙄🤣
I'm guessing you mean fictional ones
this girl looks like emotional Natalie Portman
Vals death was hilarious she was vile
OA Hollyoaks Simon Walker’s death should’ve been at number one instead of 5. 😒😒😒😒😒
Threads was a fantastic movie and showed the world what these weapons could reduce us to.
It's unacceptable that kids have become violent and criminal in soap operas. But in Hollyoaks, it was satisfying to see Bobby Costello killing his evil grandfather.
Soaps are meant to portray reality but in an exaggerated way to keep it interesting and engaging.
Unfortunately there are many violent and criminal kids in real life. Soaps often portray situations which have occur in the real world and that’s okay.
Lol, unacceptable. As if kids in real life are all little angels.
Not much violent thanks guys for positivity
You don even say what happens with the number one spot. You guys need to do better
Anything happy valley should’ve been closer to number one. Whilst watching that I was shaken is more way than one by the violence. 🫣😮
I’m surprised Kirsten’s death from series 1 wasn’t mentioned, that was horrific
@@annareverie13 seriously, I’d never seen anything like it and it was completely unexpected.
So let's see the Bobby in eastenders was a killer
And the Bobby is hollyoaks was a killer 2
