    It’s actually really nice to hear a company representative admitting the limitations of their product. Like it’s not a bad thing really

    I actually really appreciate the honesty in these video's. In other video's where toneprints are being created (whether or not the actual creation took place during the video) it's more about the artist working by ear, telling what they like or don't like. Here you guys A/B with the pedals to be mimicked, and also analyse that which cannot be achieved by toneprint.

      It's definitely an easier task and a more candid video when someone turns up with an existing pedal and says "Hey, make it sound like this!". It's difficult to expect anything less from Dan and Mick, being the tone aficionados that they are 🙂

    a joke- Its impossible to get/download the editor, much less the Toneprints. This guy makes it all look so nice & easy. I truly wish it was- it'd be great.

    Huge fan of your pedals. I have to say, that seeing these toneprints made really opens eyes and ears. One can see, what the artist intended. Keep those comming. A compressor one would be nice.

    Please put the algorithm for the " Drip" pedal into tone print for the hof 2. And a reverse reverb. Thats all it needs to be perfect.

    Love it. Just beamed it to my pedal. Thanks for taking the time to do this. I'll have to look into the flashback implementation mentioned in the video. Thinking on that I added an Echobrain analogue delay before the hof. Sounds good and adds a bit of slap back. You might want to try that.

      That is really sweet! Thanks for sharing the link. It's stirring my shopping list a bit. Had plans for the viscous vibe as my next pedal, but now this is making me rethink priorities. The HOF2 is my first digital pedal and I'm loving it (I'm a bit of an analogue purist), it has a lot of hidden features with the tone print functionality that's hard to guess unless you follow these videos. Thanks for putting them online, it really sheds light on what I can do with the tone print feature.

    I’d love to have a screen insert, to see what Tore is adjusting, when he says “I’m gonna back this one down a bit...”. That would help tremendously when I’m building my own TonePrints.

    I was listening to a recording by Junior Brown the other day, and the only way I can describe the reverb on it was that it sounded just like a high school gymnasium, in all its cinder-block glory. And it was simply *perfect* for surf music. Had a touch of a parking-lot stairwell, but sounded like a bigger space with faster decay, and didn't sound as big as what gets called "Hall" in most units. That`s why I say it sounded like a gym. How would I replicate that?

    Damn. I've already got a Neunaber Immerse and an MXR M300. That HOF2, though, is really cool. Gonna keep my eyes open for a deal on a new one.

    • @sonicsaviouryouwillnotgetm6678
      @sonicsaviouryouwillnotgetm6678 6 років тому

      dunno. this tone print thing is really cool, but when I tried the HOF2 against the Neunaber Immerse, the Neunaber was better in any respect. Every sound on there is fantastic and the range of the controls is very well defined. With the HOF2, I had a lot of trouble getting the „right“ amount of reverb and most settings sounded less natural to my ears. I guess what I am saying is, try it out and see if it suits you. As much as I love my trusty tc stereo chorus+, and my dito, the HOF2 was not for me.

    the stock spring reverb sound is terrible how did digitech manage to make a better spring reverb in 2007....

  • @BeefNEggs057
    @BeefNEggs057 6 років тому +3

    Emulating spring reverb is kind of like a dog chasing its tail. The springs are used to simulate a larger space, right? So using digital to copy that spring sound you’re emulating a simulation. Why not just make it sound like what the springs were trying so hard to simulate. Embrace technology. Skip the middleman so to speak. I know it’s got its place (in a kids microphone). Just funny to me.

    • @serdiezv
      @serdiezv 6 років тому +4

      But while trying to emulate something with spring reverb they made something of it's own, with that quick repeats. It's idiosyncrasies are what makes real spring reverb awesome and something worth replicating in a small pedal.

    • @cruisingthethaiway6881
      @cruisingthethaiway6881 6 років тому

      I never cared for a spring reverb. It's a lame attempt to create the illusion of real reverberation of a large room. The HOF2 dose a much better job then a spring sounding like a spring making a Boing sound.

    • @serdiezv
      @serdiezv 6 років тому +2

      I like the clicks of the springs, it's a really interesting sound. And those massive pedal tanks are cool cause you can stomp and use the rattle as music.
      Different strokes I guess. I like all reverbs tbh.
