Dr. V, just discovered your channel and had been following your advice. Most of my routine has been wrong for me. I wished I had found you last year. I was in the U.K. Last year on vacation and would have definitely make an appointment to see you. I been following a couple of your recommendations for 3 weeks and the skin on my face is less dry, dry skin feels silky, less pigmentate and more even tone. Thank you. Can not wait to order your routine for dark circles under eyes and lip pigmentation.
Hey, I am in my late 20s and haven’t really focused on my skincare till now! I’ve generally tried to use natural products. Touchwood I have few skin issues; I think I have combination skin (oily t zone and a bit drier around mouth area and around the eyes). I’d love to see a “at minimum” heathy skincare AM and PM routine for combination skin please with your product recommendations. I also have no idea how much I should be focusing on anti aging at the moment and which vitamins to focus on and how many actives to use etc so seeing what my basic/staple skin care products should be would be amazing because I can build on that but always ensure I am doing the basics! Thank you!!!!
Is it possible for you to do a full day and night skincare routine for oily or acne prone skin that is gentle and non drying? Want to know what products you would recommend for every step!
Dr V, can you do a video on professional products like Dermalogica? I am a licensed esthetician that gets primarily skin of color and I want to know if it is safe and if not, what should I be using on my clients
These videos are so helpful because they give us the exact names of ingredients we need to look out for. Thanks Dr.V I literally spend so much time in Ulta now just reading ingredients lol
Thank you, thank you🙏 I bought for my daughter who is currently suffering from acne one of these moisturizer and I felt it was irritating her skin. You just confirm the obvious. Please continue to guide us in this journey of skin care for us and our children
I used the cerave eye cream and it made my eyes sore all day. I get this a lot with creams and moisturisers. Any idea which ingredient could be causing this. Thanks
@@Colin-s1z maybe just compare the product ingredient list between them all and find a product that doesn’t have one or more of those ingredients that the other ones that irritate/create sore eyes has & see if that does it? That’s how I find what irritates my skin. Especially in products that are new for me. I can’t test too many cause my skin is sensitive so sometimes the product itself just may not suit you, one of those ‘it is what it is’ situations. Our make ups are all different so while we may want it to work it just may not agree w/ our make up & we can’t force it no matter how much we try unfortunately.
I have learned so much from your videos. Thanks so much for educating all of us. You have mentioned Azelaic Acid in your previous videos. I saw on the Finacea website that use of Azelaic Acid can lead to hypopigmentation (white spots) in some patients with darker skin tones. Can you possibly address this issue in one of your future videos? Thank you.
Just saw your channel and I think you deserve so many more followers than you currently have . Wishing you all the success ,thanking you for all the knowledge you provide and subscribing right away!
Dr. V, can you please start a hyperpigmentation clinic in the United States? Your knowledge can't be compared for brown/dark skin. I have learned so much and I've passed that info on to my teen son, my MIL, my hubby, and other friends. You are fabulous ♥️
What about cleansing brushes like Clairsonic and PMD? Are they good for skin or do they exacerbate the skin conditions of hyperpigmentation and melasma? Tell all about those products on your website after peels. Thanks.
Thanks for sharing your insights with us. They are very helpful for me personally. 👍🏻💗 However, I looked at Cerave moisturizing cream (you’ve always recommended in most of your videos), it also has Cetearyl Alcohol (3rd ingredient) and Ceteareth-20. I am confused. Does this mean this product is a comedogenic? Will you please explain? Thanks.
I have oily skin and have used 4 of the products in this list. All of them make me oilier and give me blemishes that is hard to go away. But now i‘m fragrance free and alcohol free all the way. My oiliness is regulated. Skin glowing and happy 🤩🤩🥰🥰🥰
Dr. V, I am one of those unfortunate people who has developed an allergy to chemical sunscreens over time. After much research into trying to find an affordable mineral sunscreen with high spf but minimal white cast for skin of colour, I have come across: Netrogrena: Healthy Defense, Daily Moisturizer with Sunscreen, Broad Spectrum SPF 50 So far I have been loving it and it sits well under my makeup. Please review it. If it's a good product, it would be great if more people know about it.
Thank you Marimo for this suggestion. I’ve been on the lookout for a good physical sunscreen that sits well under makeup too. I use the Badger unscented spf 40, which i really love for everyday use, but it’s really greasy & cakey under makeup.
@Jenna Smith My skin type is combination (leaning a bit towards dry). On my skin it looks matte when applied. I think it's impossible for mineral sunscreens to have absolutely zero white cast because the ingredients Zinc and Titanium Dioxide give a white cast which are used in all mineral sunscreens. However, if I were to rate the white cast out of 10, where 1 is absolutely no white cast, I would give it a 2 - 3. It is not visible to other people but I can tell that my skin is everrrr so slightly fairer. At times I cannot see it myself. It is low enough for me to wear this without any foundation on top which is impressive for me given a mineral only sunscreen. Note that my skin colour is almost the same as Dr. Vanita's. Anyone with an even darker skin would see a bigger whitecast but I do think that it's really not that much. Dr. Dray also has received this product on UA-cam, (you can search it up using the name of the sunscreen "Neutrogena healthy defense" and "Dr. Dray") You can see how it looks on her. On me it looks less white and less shiny but maybe I apply less than she did.
@@TheSb758 Hey, thanks for the suggestion! I would like to try it out on days that I am not wearing any makeup. How is the whe white cast for this one? Also I haven't used the sunscreen for myself, but maybe the specific combination of the sunscreen and the foundation is giving the cake feel. Perhaps try it out with a different foundation if you have one as well.
@Jenna Smith one thing I forgot to add is that with sunscreens, it's best to work them into the skin a little as Hyram says in his videos. This really helps with the white cast.
@@marimomarim7226 Hello! I now get the non-whitening version, as they do have products that have a really stark white cast. The product goes on white but clears out as you continue to blend it in. It’s called Badger sport 40 unscented. It feels tacky to the touch throughout on my combination skin.
Her own products have cetearyl alcohol, parabens, and citrus peel oil extracts. How do you think citrus fragrances are obtained: extracting the citrus peel. Comedogenicity isn't as simple: you have to consider the concentration of the ingredient, skin type, and environment, etc.
Yes.. please review... jj labs/ naturium Tranexamic acid and how to incorporate it with other actives. Mainly what actives does/ does not pair well with?
It is a “good” alcohol as not like rubbing alcohol.. it is moisturizing. But can be comedogenic. Although my super picky skin never has had issues w it or any other fatty alcohols.
I used Effaclar and detested it! For many years I thought La Roche Posay was the worse skincare line. I used their redermic line lately and has worked so far.
Thank you Dr. Rattan. It's so appreciaite 🧡💚❤ Can we use adaptogen deep moisture cream from youth to the people in the morning ?!? Is there actives in it? Thank you 😘
Your videos are always so informative and lovely... I don't buy anything for my skin unless you recommend it. Can you do a product review on hylamide by decium. Also decium is out of salicylic Acid and magnesium ascorbyl phosphate 10% what can I use as good replacements?
I was talked into the Dermalogica calm water and the fragrance was overwhelming. It was super irritating on my face. I’m just now diving into a rabbit hole about fatty alcohols because I’ve tried to use retinol, tretinoin, adapalene and closed comedones just never go away. I was using Paula’s Choice BHA because everyone raves about it. It’s done nothing and I’ve used it for over a year. I’m at a loss.
I’m so glad to come across your channel! You have been very helpful 🥺 I hope you can also do a video about small bumps on the face that does not look like acne. These bumps always lead to hyperpigmentation 😭
Dr V I can't find the right words to express my gratitude and appreciation for the passion and dedication that you express towards your calling. I wish we had someone like you 30 yrs ago!! Anyway, could you guide us through DPN (Dermatosis papulosa nigra) ? I'm sure this is fairly common for people with SOC.
Yes please do foundations for oily skin video! Can't wait for the exfoliants for brown skin video, I really need a good exfoliant. Can you also recommend which is better (chemical/physical)?
Hi Dr V could you please do more videos re dry/sensitive skin recommendations. There are quite a few oily skin videos on your channel with associated recs. Especially going into Winter, many people will be battling dryness. For example the majority of mineral sunscreens are extremely drying on already dry skin (due to the high zinc content), so sunscreens for very dry skin are difficult to find using mineral filters only. Also apart from the specialist/eczema section of the pharmacy some skincare recs for dry skin would be appreciated. My face doesn't tolerate cereve for some reason (stings on application), but I want something a little more beneficial in my moisturiser than just a very basic cream formulation. Best wishes.
Did I make it here first?! 🏃🏾♀️🤣 Dr V. Please explain the solution to minimizing or eliminating the appearance of hyperpigmentation for underarms and the inner thighs? In my line of work as a wax specialist, I get these questions all the time. Thanks!😊

Foundation for Oily Skin ❤️❤️
Yes please a full video on foundations for oily skin ! That would be amazing. Love your content always !!
Foundations, powders and concealers please!
Yes coming soon x
All I want to tell you is "I love you"..You are an amazing human being...
so are you x
Dr V, Are you never gonna review Earth rhythm products.
Its perfectly fine but please let me know are they not good for skin of colour.
These videos are so helpful because they give us the exact names of ingredients we need to look out for. Thanks Dr.V I literally spend so much time in Ulta now just reading ingredients lol
In your Cerave video you gave a good review on the Cerave PM facial moisturizing lotion, but I notice on the ingredients list it has Cetearyl alcohol😔
Thanks
Only wear it at night once a week and build it up
@@vanitarattan
Thanks for the advice.
@@Colin-s1z did it worked?
@@shridevishetty442 No still made them very sore. Cerave moisturiser stings my eyes to
@@Colin-s1z maybe just compare the product ingredient list between them all and find a product that doesn’t have one or more of those ingredients that the other ones that irritate/create sore eyes has & see if that does it?
That’s how I find what irritates my skin. Especially in products that are new for me. I can’t test too many cause my skin is sensitive so sometimes the product itself just may not suit you, one of those ‘it is what it is’ situations. Our make ups are all different so while we may want it to work it just may not agree w/ our make up & we can’t force it no matter how much we try unfortunately.
Foundation for oily skin and for brown skin customers. Yes please!!!!
Can you also do a video on good exfoliator for dry acne prone skin?
Foundations for oily, aging, dry & dehydrated skin please. Hourglass matte stick, Bobbi brown, mac, L’Oréal, maybelline and more 😉
I have learned so much from your videos. Thank you.
sure xx
@@vanitarattan Thank you

Thanks.

foundations for dry skin and best moisturizers for dry sensitive skin and non irritating
Thanks for sharing your insights with us. They are very helpful for me personally. 👍🏻💗
However, I looked at Cerave moisturizing cream (you’ve always recommended in most of your videos), it also has Cetearyl Alcohol (3rd ingredient) and Ceteareth-20. I am confused. Does this mean this product is a comedogenic? Will you please explain? Thanks.
I was reviewing the same @dr.vanitarattan??
CONGRATULATIONS for 200K in advance!!!
Yessssss almost there....🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
Can you please suggest good body wash for skin of color?
I have oily skin and have used 4 of the products in this list. All of them make me oilier and give me blemishes that is hard to go away. But now i‘m fragrance free and alcohol free all the way. My oiliness is regulated. Skin glowing and happy 🤩🤩🥰🥰🥰
@Jenna Smith Cerave light moisturizer PM
Foundations and BB/CC creams for oily/asian skin please!
Yes foundations and concealers or oily and acne prone skin please. Thankyou 🙏🏾
Dr. V, I am one of those unfortunate people who has developed an allergy to chemical sunscreens over time.
After much research into trying to find an affordable mineral sunscreen with high spf but minimal white cast for skin of colour, I have come across:
Netrogrena: Healthy Defense, Daily Moisturizer with Sunscreen, Broad Spectrum SPF 50
So far I have been loving it and it sits well under my makeup.
Please talk about tranexamic acid. Also, how do you know which ingredients are comedogenic. Thank you for your content!
Will do x
Yes.. please review... jj labs/ naturium Tranexamic acid and how to incorporate it with other actives. Mainly what actives does/ does not pair well with?
We’d love to see a video on foundations for oily skin!
@6:19 you mention stearyl alcohol as being bad however in your good v. bad alcohol video it is in the good category. Please advise, I'm confused now.
It is a “good” alcohol as not like rubbing alcohol.. it is moisturizing.
But can be comedogenic.
Although my super picky skin never has had issues w it or any other fatty alcohols.
Thank you Dr.V please create a complete range of skin care for us! not only for hyperpigmentation!
Foundation for oily skin please! Thank you!
Thank you 😘
Yes, answer please 😁

Yes for the video on foundations for acne prone skin in POC! Thanks for all you do!
Your videos are always so informative and lovely... I don't buy anything for my skin unless you recommend it. Can you do a product review on hylamide by decium. Also decium is out of salicylic Acid and magnesium ascorbyl phosphate 10% what can I use as good replacements?
Aww thank you. Video coming soon x
@@vanitarattan thank you soo much
@@vanitarattan I’ll be on the look out for that video!

Yes please do foundations for oily skin video! Can't wait for the exfoliants for brown skin video, I really need a good exfoliant. Can you also recommend which is better (chemical/physical)?
Good job Dr V we all want to spend our money on effective products. We deserve honest marketing. Love you and your honesty
Dearest doc...telling us the truth is never negative...u r much appreciated and we trust u next to the lord.😘
Did I make it here first?! 🏃🏾♀️🤣 Dr V. Please explain the solution to minimizing or eliminating the appearance of hyperpigmentation for underarms and the inner thighs? In my line of work as a wax specialist, I get these questions all the time. Thanks!😊
