One thing to keep in mind is that k18 only rebuilds and regenerates the hair so it’s not going to moisturize like traditional cosmetic products like masks and deep treatments.
I like to think of Olaplex as a replenishment for hair and K18 the product for genuinely healthy hair.
Also if you aren’t experiencing anything from the product that means you either have product buildup that’s not allowing the peptide to enter the hair so it’s just sitting on the cuticle hence the dry brittle feeling. (If you are a heavy product user especially with silicones you NEED to clarify shampoo or detox the hair prior to k18)
Or youre using too much on the hair per application.
Also keep in mind after the 4 min you can use your fav hair mask or conditioner if you think you really need the extra moisture.
This product DOES work and it is legit!
I use this product on every person I do hair on and their hair comes out so much healthier than it ever did when I used Olaplex!
I was able to bleach my highlight/colored& permed hair to a platinum blonde in one session and my hair felt like virgin hair! I had NO breakage what so ever and my hair was so strong and silky soft. I as a hair stylist was super blown away that a product like this actually exists out there because when I’d use Olaplex my hair would still break off when doing services like that.
And I’ve been able to take many people with black box dye to platinum blonde (or just blonde in general) in one session with the hair feeling so much healthier than it did when they came in.
This product does work it’s just that it’s very precise on how you use it because if you have ANY buildup on the hair it will not work. So it’s always best to use some type of clarifying shampoo or chelating shampoo to remove the buildup prior to using it. Many Regular shampoos have fillers and silicones that will block the k18 from entering the hair. Really hope this helps for future use!

thank you so much for the input!! I feel like I clarified pretty well but maybe not enough!! I definitely have come to terms that my hair was seriously deprived of moisture so I’m going to keep giving this a try with more moisture. I wish this worked for me like it did for you but I’ll definitely take your advice and give it a try again in the future!! Thank you SO much for your comment!!

Nick you must work for K18 because you show up on many, many different youtube videos trying to push the K18 garbage product with the lies and hype that are being pumped out everywhere by those unscrupulous jerks that are getting paid to push it. You are completely transparent and you are also a terrible person. Pushing something that is useless at BEST and damaging at worst, just for a couple of bucks in your pocket.

I have bleached blond hair and I have both K18 and olaplex 3,4,5,6,7. I also find K18 not moisturizing and conditioning enough when used alone. I really love applying mixture of olaplex 6 and 7 as a leave-in after I allowed k18 to sit on my hair for 5 minutes. K18 is not meant to be used every wash. After 6 consecutive washes with k18 it’s recommended to use it less frequently, like every 4th-5th wash.

I just ordered k18. I am a 25 year old male. Through out my teenage years I would use gel to style my hair every single day. Little did I know it damaged my hair. My hair now is so rough, thick, dry, and wiry. The ladies avoid touching my hair since it’s so rough to run your hands through. Any tips on to repair it? Thanks!

    • @KindlyChristina
      @KindlyChristina  Рік тому +1

Thanks for your comment! If your hair is currently dry and wirey, I highly recommend watching my K18 Redemption video. However the gist was, I realized what my issue was with k18 is there’s just way too much alcohol in the product it continued to dry out my hair. so in your case, I recommend applying k18, letting it sit for the 4 minutes and then washing it out realllllllly well. The video has full details! I’m going to assume though that repairing with a product like k18 is good however I think you might have even better results deep conditioning. I find that olaplex number 8 mask is fantastic to use to condition in and out of the shower, though it’s not made to be applied out of the shower. I take a small pea or nickel size and run it through my hands and apply it post shower and I feel it really keeps excess moisture in. This product is more expensive but lasts a really long time. If you have short hair, you could really get long term use out of it. I also would say, don’t be afraid to try hair products with silicones. I think a generic high silicone conditioner will give you that extra soft feel. Some people say don’t use silicones but if you clarify monthly, you won’t have any problems. Ultimately, my hair NEEDS silicones, I think yours might too. I would start with clarifying and maybe double clarifying your hair first with a clarifying shampoo, then using a silicone conditioner, then the olaplex mask, then finishing off post shower with a small amount of the the olaplex 8 mask. Optional but super helpful is olaplex number 7 hair oil which lasts foreverrrr too! I hope that helps. If you still need assistance, I find there are lots of hair communities on reddit that have great input too. Thanks for your comment and wishing you the best on your hair journey! I hope all works out for you!!

I’m noticing that you need to cycle on and off and use other products sometimes. I was using olaplex too much and my hair was starting to fall out and was thinning so I switched to k18 and remarkable improvement with two treatments. My hair returned to its normal thickness keep in mind I had braids so my wash days were once every 6 weeks. I think my next wash day I will use regular products and cycle between a series of products like you said. I think that’s the best and also paying attention to what your hair needs at the time.

Definitely interested in the post K18 trials and hair experiments. Excited to see the outcomes of olaplex no 6 and 7 used on wet hair! Hehe haven't found a miracle product for my hair but definitely have for my super itchy, sensitive scalp.
I feel like olaplex is a hit or miss with a lot of their products depending on your hair type. I personally use K18 the same way I do olaplex no 2 (same as no 3 but more concentrated) minus the shampooing in between which saves me time, followed by deep conditioner.
I applaud you for using the K18 for 6 weeks WITHOUT deep conditioner. My course, dry hair would never so I always paired the K18 with a deep conditioner after the four minutes.
After watching your series I think it could be your hair was not really as damaged as you think, but you know your hair best and this is just a theory. It could have been initially damaged when u got it lightened but after a month the hair generally is in better condition and isn't in "shock" anymore.
If you want a direct comparison of olaplex vs K18 and how they differ chemically this video will is really insightful m.ua-cam.com/video/pI0yNc9H_Lk/v-deo.html "k18 peptide vs olaplex! here is the truth! Fea. Dossier."
(Damn kinda wish I was more selective and frugal with hair spending its guilty pleasure. I just spent another $150 on a hair brand).
I'm not surprised by the ending in fact kind of expecting it. Your hair sounds similar to mine (except mine is course yours is thin) with the extra moisture required and using K18 without a conditioner or deep conditioner is like hair suicide in my eyes but I can definitely see why it did not work for you. If you ever do try K18 in the future I highly recommend pairing it with a deep conditioner after waiting the four minutes and rewetting your hair. Glad my input was helpful in past videos! (Im also early 20s and female if that helps lol) And if you need any hair moisture ideas/experiments you want to test out I definitely have a few in mind.

Thank you SO much for following me along this journey, seriously! I’m SUPER excited to try the outcomes of olaplex no 6 &7 on wet hair and so excited to deep moisturize my hair!! I’m going to be giving that a try super soon because my hair is honestly struggling with dryness😅 I think i’ll definitely use k18 in the future more minimally but with intense moisture in between, i’m thinking the consistency of being without conditioner may have been my issue for sure. I’ve had my hair bleached since I was a kid (literally 3 years old was my first bleach) and I’ve noticed my hair usually doesn’t age well after a bleach. So initially my hair feels fine after a bleach but a few months later, it’s severely broken off or breaking and dry and like straw. So when I started feeling intense breakage initially after this last bleach, it definitely was concerning. But maybe my hair is doing better, just needs more moisture?? sounds like we definitely have similar hair!! I had someone recommend the redken acidic bonding treatment to try so might give it a whirl in the near future ! I understand the struggle of guilty hair pleasures, I’ve spent crazy amounts of money on hair in the past, i’m just in a more “live within my means” season of life with limited disposable income so i’ve transitioned to a more frugal lifestyle which surprisingly i’ve been loving! but i definitely want to experiment and give new products a try for you all so it’s a balancing act for sure lol. I’m all ears to any input and ideas to try and experiment with for future videos, I’ve enjoyed doing this hair process alongside you so thank you so much for all your input !!

That is exactly how I use K18: rinse and deep condition after the 4 minutes. Honestly, I think they need to scrap the convenience thing and just suggest that it's used in almost the same way as Olaplex 3. It absolutely works for me but it's definitely too drying when used exactly as described.

I hope you read this even if it's 9 months on. With K18 you can use a conditioner AFTER you used K18 and left it on for four minutes on freshly shampooed and towel dried hair, after the four minutes are up, you can rinse it off and then apply the conditioner or whatever it is you want. I emailed K18 and this is what they said.

Thank you for sticking it out and filming it and actually trying to use it properly.
With that said, I really like K18 BUT I cannot use it the way they suggest completely. First, I use Color Wow shampoo. It's not exactly clarifying but they formulated it to rinse completely clean, so no residues or silicones. After I wash I add my K18 (2 pumps) and after the 4 minutes I get back in the shower rinse the K18 out and condition, rinse again and towel dry and leave in.
The problem with K18 is that it has a LOT of denatured alcohol. That is very drying to the hair but they swear it's needed to get the peptide delivered into the cortex. I cannot leave that alcohol in my hair so I have to rinse and condition after. Doing it this way makes it as inconvenient as Olaplex though but my results have been pretty dramatic (my hair was pretty heat damaged). I really think K18 needs to update their instructions. In their effort to be more convenient than their competitor it leaves a lot of people with very dry hair. They need to market it as a rinse out treatment like Olaplex, which is how I use it successfully.
Thanks for your very honest review. Also, love the My Hero Academia shirt! You watch anime?

Wow this is a fabulous recommendation, i think you’re right, the alcohol IS too drying! In my heart of hearts I love the simplicity of applying it and going but I think it does need to be rinsed like olaplex. Just in the price difference though, I would probably stick with olaplex no 3 because it’s significantly cheaper. I’m going to have to try it the way you recommended!!!

If you like modern adventure mixed with a strong likeable female lead and romance, ugh it’s perfect . There’s also a ton of content and they’re frequently adding more. For example, 4 seasons, 2 movies (more coming), 24 light novels (which are really good i’m on book 5 so far) and audio books narrarated by the show voice actors. unfortunately yes :( super broken on the top and uneven processing, I’m so glad k18 has helped you a ton! I’m actually in the process of filming a k18 redemption video and should be up this weekend! Thanks for your comment!

Mayou tube is another salesperson for K18 getting paid to push a garbage product on those who are easily influenced. Leave the woman alone, she did her due diligence and realized that the product just doesn't work, at BEST, and damages hair at worst. You people never stop trying to sell and cash in on that $$ whether or not what you push is actually any good.

Within two videos she has gotten me so much informative information about my hair care journey I don't think she talks a lot at all she's giving detailed instructions on how the products work for her and how she is going on her hair journey as well helping others with a lot of great information

Lol, you lost us at Garnier. You obviously don't know anything about haircare.

Hi! After years of experimenting with my hair and all ranges of products, from oribe to milkshake to even V05 , garnier seems to be the best middle man for me (although I have to alternate as my hair becomes “immune” to certain products over time). This is just works best for me and I hope to share my experience with you to help you make your own best informed decisions. All hair is different, and if I can help even one person, my goal is achieved. I appreciate your input and your view. Thank you, friend!

I think she knows her own hair we all have different hair and she is exactly right a lot of people need the silicones in their hair too it's a money racket hopefully it works for you and everyone else but I think that was a very rude comment I think you could have said it in a much better way anyways God bless you and your family at this Christmas time
