I am very glad to hear that the Yu family got out of that SRO... I happy for them... A *nine year* wait is the proof-positive that our housing system is inexorably broken.
so that is how SF city is working. Low-income family can live in big apartment with very little money while other low middle-income family are struggling to pay $3000 or even higher rent.
Thank god for individuals who care about helping people because the government in the state of California is clearly a failure on so many lvls. The reason this family got to move and got help is because Han Li intervened and helped them move up the waiting list. The incompetency of the government is truly shameful
What are you talking about? The govt has a limited budget. It can’t simply give money to anyone who ask for it. I sympathize with the family, but why in the world did they keep pumping out babies when they know full well they can’t afford a bigger living space?
Imagine a whole family living in a room but everywhere in the media... on UA-cam, on TV, in the movies.... everyone lives in normal houses or apartments. It's like these people chose to live on the planet of Mars.
Still living off of society - my parents got us out of a 1 bedroom apartment and into a house. We were a total of 7 and they did on their own, no housing assistance - ON THEIR OWN. No money, didn’t speak any English but still climbed their way up! These sad stories need to be shown with stories that overcame. Not showing both failures and success is not telling the whole story. Not all immigrants are pathetic - there are some that succeed and achieve the “American Dream”!
The parents cannot speak English, so I am guessing they immigrated to the USA. They didn't fall into hard times, they started there. How did they get the right to come to the USA?
They usually immigrated to USA by family chain. Even after they moved to USA they usually live in the area where they don't even need to speak English. Most of them are living by the government financial assistance. Some later become very rich but they still pretend to be poor to enjoy the benefits of CA government.
THEIR ILLEGAL, if they legal they would be REQUIRED TO LEARN ENGLISH AS PART OF THE NATURALISM PROSSESS. it only takes 7 years to COMPLEATE . 9 years means their illegal.
@@tianzhou1244 what kind of question is this? Haven’t you heard of the many immigrants stories of people getting off the both with just the clothes on their back? Or people talking about coming here with 5 dollars in their pocket?? It’s called the American dream
They may have mental, I don't think they are that poor. She got 4 pregnancies in such a small space. So crazy. No matter where they live, they make it look like a garbage dump.

@@dquan731 True ❤
@@dquan731 they have 3 children. doesn't seem like a lot, but with their income, yes 3 is enough.
who would have thougth these SRO's would be in San Francisco. They resemble some of the cage homes in Hong Kong.
Some help to lift this family up, for sure, but a 4 bedroom townhouse in SF? No wonder tax is so high in California.
It's a four room unit NOT a four bedroom home
It’s merely 100 square ft

Not all immigrants are rich; the less fortunate could potentially get here legally by lotteries, family or job sponsorships...

@@girlla123 It was a statement. american dream is propanganda so the bilionaries can exploit you for minimum wage and more
Stop having so much kids when they can't afford it. Isn't that one of the reasons why?
❤❤😢
Who gives af? plenty of people suffer way worse why would 1 family get picked ? Such a weird world we live in.
Your point?
Mostblunted? Your mean devoid of basic humanity.
what do you mean, it's great that one of the thousands families got adequate support
Some people who were born here do not even receive this level of support.
Who gives af? People who have a compassion for people who are suffering, for small children like those two cute young boys. Where’s your humanity?
So
Wow, they save money tomorrow and invest in business.

They have 4 kids, they live paycheck to paycheck. Kids are expensive.
Happy for them. Awesome change. 👍🏻👍🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻👏👏💗💗💗
