I've been studying out of Teds' Chord Chemistyr book for over a year. He's got so many voicings for major, minor, augmented, and diminished chords. Going through all the excercises and progressions he has in his book as really helped my playing but more importantly they have Opened my Ears like I never thought. Anyone who wants to get better should get any of Ted's books. Appreciate the Upload
This video has absolutely blown me away! When I was playing in the early-70s, my band played GBTC and only wished it could have swung like Ted's version. Every day, I'm finding more and more videos of his that make me realize I knew very little about music back then. He was really something!
You of course watched the Steve Miller one, right? I always thought that was the highlight of the Les Paul show, even though David Gilmour was also playing.
This man uses chord voicings like synonyms for words in a poem...he chooses just the right one to get the meaning across. This is music, not just noise.
big BST fan : but that rendition is/was simply awesome : TG ??? Why not up there with the super stars ???? Simply lovely.Ian Morrison.may the man be revered forever.
All 4 books are very good, Modern Chord Progressions is much better because it shows voice leading and chord progressions (from different time periods) Single note Soloing is also very good, it covers arpeggios and sequencing very well. His lines are very good. Book 2 is more jazz oriented. Book one will take a very long time to get through. I used it so much I wore it out and had to buy another one. Mick Goodrick's (Mr GoodChord) books on chord are also very good.
more guitar players should aim for the use of chord color... Greene was a master at knowing how to get the right shade of sound ... its something all of us as guitarists need to work on more...
Yeah - the goal of the book is complete understanding of the fingerboard. That's useful no matter what kind of music you're playing. Though I can't help thinking you'll want to play jazz with that knowledge - where else can you use all of it?
Staggering!! What a sublime musician - and what sublime sounds from a telecaster!! Thanks for posting.
Wow, what a beautiful blues. Ideas I can steal everywhere!
Seeing Ted again is a joy, you made my day pal !

yes ted tweaked his guitars and knew alot about hardware
Does anyone know what he pushes on the pickguard at around 1:32 or so? Is he splitting the humbucker or something?
I only wish I could here the bang on a tin drum of a hollowbody!
