Some of my best memories in gaming come from this generation alone. I remember laughing at the ragdoll physics in Smuggler's Run and it brought me to tears.
Super awesome video, Scorpio. The PS2 dominated the 6th generation of video games There are a lot of PS2 games I liked: Tekken 4, Tekken 5, Tekken Tag Tournament, Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil, Soulcalibur II, Ace Combat 04: Shattered Skies, Virtua Fighter 4, Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution, The Bouncer, Army Men: Sarge's Heroes 2, Portal Runner, Super Bust-A-Move, Super Bust-A-Move 2, The Adventures of Cookies & Cream, Gradius III & IV, Gradius V, Suikoden III, Evergrace, Bloody Roar 3, Crimson Sea 2, Looney Tunes: Space Race, Crazy Taxi, Final Fantasy X, Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure and many more Keep up the awesome content 🤠👍🏼
I grew up with a ps1 And didn't get a PS2 until Christmas 2002 with Final Fantasy X and GTA vice city I would have been 10 at the time the leaping graphics blew my mind And final fantasy X was my gateway into JRPGs Which lucky enough the PS2 was a powerhouse in that genre :) Great video dude! Liked and subbed 👍😎
Heeey welcome to the cesArcade! Thank you for subbing and liking and commenting! I always love to hear everyone's history with consoles because everyone experiences them differently while some have similar stories and memories. It sounds like we both were too young to be playing GTA but man, what a game that was! Vice City is still my favorite in the series. I missed out on much of the FF series till I borrowed FF7 from a friend in college and played it on PS3. FFX is one that I plan to get back into though, I hear many great things about it.
I missed out on the PS2 during it's lifespan. I didn't discover it until 2010ish. I got some bangers for the system really cheap. I have Haunting Ground Rule of Rose all the Silent Hill games. I'm still kicking myself in the ass for not grabbing Kuon for $70 when I had the chance. When I started collecting for the PS2 games were dirt cheap. Had a lot of fun game hunting back then. I was originally collecting for the SNES in the early 2000's but when prices got to high I switched to collecting for the Xbox PS2 and Gamecube.
You picked a really good time to start collecting for it! I remember finding Haunting Ground at my GameStop when it was still relatively new so that’s when I bought it. Wish I did the same with Rule of Rose, Kuon and the Silent Hills. I did get Silent Hill 4 when it was available at GameStop though. Good times, wish they weren’t so darn expensive. I really want to get Silent Hill 2 and Origins on the PS2. The 6th Gen is still my favorite to collect for despite prices getting up there.
@@ScorpioCesarcade I've got a story for you if you care to read it. It's every collectors dream. Back around 2006 my local record store went out of business. They sold used CD's but they also sold used games. I drove past there several times a week. I always wondered if they had anything in the place. One day in 2019 I was driving by and the neon open sign was lit up. I decided to stop in. There were games everywhere. After talking to the owner he gave me free reign to dig around. There was a hole the size of a basketball in the roof and it was raining. There were wet gamecube and PS2 games all over the floor. I was walking on games to get to games. Mountains of games. It looked like someone was hoarding. I made a stack of about 15 games and he sold them to me for $100. It was PS1 stuff. Castlevania SOTN Xenogrears all banger titles. I came back 2 days later with my cousin and about $500. There was a letter on the door stating the city shut him down for the hole in the ceiling. The place was a goldmine. I scored some killer games dirt cheap. It was the opportunity of a lifetime if only I could have gotten back in.
Awesome video, Cesar!! One of my biggest regrets was not buying Steambot Chronicles, Rule of Rose and Haunting Ground when I had the opportunity to buy them brand new back in the day. The PS2 has an amazing library! It was one of my favorite consoles to collect for a minute there and I would still be collecting for it today if it wasn't so expensive. You've got a great collection! I was surprised when I didn't see any SMT titles. Have you ever played Digital Devil Saga or Devil Summoner? They're a bit pricey, but if you don't mind emulation, they're great games to check out!
Shelly! Thanks for checking this one out, I feel like I never properly gave the PS2 it's much deserved flowers till I made this video. So many great horror masterpieces found their home on the PS2 and I only wish they were more readily available for modern gamers. The only SMT game I have on the PS2 is Persona 4 and that one is in the binder of shame that I decided to cut out of the video due to time constraints. Never got around to DDS or Devil Summoner but I do remember wanting the special edition of Devil Summoner 2. Didn't some of those have holo box arts?
Great video man and nice collection! Although I cant wrap my head around how you had a brother in law when you were a kid? Maybe it means something different where i am from?
Thanks for watching! So over here a brother in law would be the husband of my sister. In this case my oldest sister who was already in their 20s. Hope that helps!
Lots of great games. Little jelly a couple of those. You already have way more PS2 than I do. Definitely missing some of those RPGs and other horror titles. My biggest want is Kuon but damn $1,000 is so much to spend. Loved this video bro. Btw Rygar is a copy that comes with a little lenticular card on the inside not sure if you got that in your copy. So heads up! I still need to grab one.
With how much everyone talks about RPGs around here, I don’t think I ever want to play one again. 😂 I do have some games in the binder of shame but decided to cut it out of the video. Unfortunately my Rygar came with nothing cool like that, just dirt and grime. 😵 I do want to get Magnacarta and the Dark Cloud games!
The Xbox decision to lock it behind a remote was actually pretty clever. Sony directly had a financial interest in DVD succeeding where Microsoft and Nintendo would have to basically pay for the rights, which would drive up the price of their consoles. Nintendo said fuuuck that and went with their funky little discs and Microsoft said fuuuck that buuuut saw the writing on the wall about how important DVD playback was. They met in the middle and had the capability unlocked with the remote, bypassing paying the rights for each console they'd have to pay otherwise. Smart. For what its worth I remember back in the day doing this and the remote experience was genuinely not that bad, it was like $20 and you just plugged in the little dongle and it came with a decent remote.
I’ve learned something new today. Wasn’t even aware that was why they decided to lock it behind the remote control but that makes perfect sense now! Thank you for clarifying that up for me. It’s funny when I got my Halo edition Xbox from a seller on eBay it also came with the dongle but no remote control.
I wanna see you clean that PS2 Slim 😂 Hey if you ever get tired of your bandana do you think you would share one with me? 😂 Oh & whats with that look at 24:06
Yeah, I’m definitely going to film that video. And do you think you can handle the power of the bandanas? The look at 24:06 was just me checking the timer on my camera. I also did it in my Xbox collection video so I decided to keep it in for whatever reason. 😅
The ps2 is still my favourite console, so many great games and memories.

Good video as always brother! I need to step up my PS2 collection big time, so many great games I sold and or missed.
I get it, we did what we had to do in order to stay up to date back then but that just makes the hunt more exciting these days.

Damn Space! That's a sick collection full of bangers right there. Definitely some on there I'd wanna try!
I ragged on the PS2 way too much back in the days, always loved it's library though. Still so many great games I want to get for it.

Thanks my dudes! The PS2 truly deserves its flowers on a day like today.
I'm grateful to you for make this videos you are a very honest person
Nice collection! Rule of Rose is a great game 👍
@@eddiebatter It’s certainly a pricey one for sure! Happy to have it though.

I’m excited to play those again for old times sake. 😁😁😁

I listen to these kinds of vids while I work and had to rewind to see why the audio sounded different 🤣
