Ive noticed the brightness / auto brightness is very jittery on my tablet. Not only that, but every like day or two, it flashes black for a second and then goes back to normal
Thanks for the honesty. I was planning to get this tablet, until I heard the battery life. However, is the 4 hours limited to Max brightness or can the battery life be higher at lower brightness, eg 50percent. Do you also know how many Android updates the onn. tablet will receive? How does it fare with Roblox? Also, one last thing. This, or the Samsung a9+?
The main issue with this tablet is that the display flickers a lot and does shutdown for a fraction of seconds while I watch content. I did check this with couple of 12.1 inch tablets. So, I can confirm. I just hope for a software fix.
@@edwigechery536 The last update I got was an security patch dated nov 1, 2024 & it didn't fix anything until I turned off smooth display and auto brightness.
@@ptakodavis8936 The Chuwi HiPad 11 seems to be a competitor coming at a lower price, but i can't say for sure if its actually better since I didn't test it out yet. The umidigi G7 Tab pro is another option as it has more RAM, but has widevine L3
Really seems pretty good for the price. 12.1 with great resolution and sound for under $200 ? Hard to beat that! ( Speaking of sound i recently picked up Lenovo Tab Plus for around the same price - it has EIGHT speakers and by far the best sound ive ever heard on a tablet!) The brightness and the battery on this Onn does seem to be a concern, though. Because you said it needs to be at Max to look good but then it only lasts a few hours. Do you think it could get through an average day of use with that? Btw- Always wondered how everyone uses emulators. Is it just an app that you download? Terrific review as always!
Hey thanks! I remember Lenovo have great speakers on their previous tablets, but 8 speakers sounds incredible! You will not get a full day with max brightness, more like half a day, and at lower brightness(approx 50% or below) you should get 3/4s of the day depending on what you do.
Just curious but how the lag on the ONN when cloud streaming games and what service do you use? I use Luna cloud streaming (Amazon's cloud game streaming service) to stream some of my GOG's library like Fallout New Vegas and it lags pretty bad. I have decent internet Spectrum 500 and the Fire Max and my router have wifi 6 so I don't think they are the issue but they could be.
I turned smooth display off and everything else works better. All day battery and plenty zippy. Great Tablet for the price. Best speakers ever on a tablet.
Of course we'd get better results with the PSP and dreamcast, so I decided to see how much we can push on this thing, and it looks like the PS2 is pushing the limit due to the GPU & maybe the RAM
@ are you crazy, there isn’t a single sports game that’s better on ps2 until nba 2012. PSP is going to give you everything else that the PS2 could but can run on lower spec machines
All the PS2 emu's I've run into use the GPU pretty heavily, in comparison to earlier generation console emu's. The Onn's on-board Mali-G57 MC2 GPU (Same GPU that the Amazon Fire Max 11 has btw.) just isn't good enough to drive PS2 emulation in most cases. The 6 GB of RAM does help but not enough. The CPU itself probably could run most PS2 emulated games, especially the early games, without struggling too much. Hopefully we'll have a budget mid-range-ish tablet coming out n 2025 that has all the right specs to run PS2 emulation relatively well. Personally I can't wait because I can't justify spending 1000 USD on a tablet so I run run PS2 emulated games on it. I know there are "pocket" solution like the Steamdeck, Ambernic and such but I'm not a fan of playing PS and 2 emulated games on a screen smaller than 10 inches.
I hear ya, these cheaper tablets are not as powerful as you'd hope. One plus pad has a pretty solid tablet that goes on sale for around $380 if that's in your budget It has an ARM Mali-G710 graphics processor
@@UndergroundTech Unfortunately the One Plus doesn't have an sd card slot. That's a deal breaker for me especially with trying to do PS emulation. I like to keep my tablet plugged in when doing emulation and I have a HUGE OG PS and PS2 collection (over 256 GB in total.......312 GB to be exact) and I need the extra internal storage an sd card slot can provide. The One Plus tablet would have been a viable option when on sale otherwise. It's an incredible tablet at that pricepoint otherwise.
Got resident evil 4 running good on it also psx runs smoth -sims 1 runs good wish wallmart would sell cases couse use a stand xbox controllers don't work i also have a wierd flicker when waching youtube probably software related
I would rather get the samsung tablet only because of the fact that you're going to get killed guaranteed software updates. There's no guarantees of updates in the future....
Onn Is walmart's terrible brand If it was a cheaper tablet , it would be better but the price That they have that tablet for is way too much I got that brand of t v and it lasted maybe three months Before it started messing up.
how does runescape run on it? not oldschool but rs3
Playing Runescape 3 On Walmart's New ONN 12.1" Pro Tablet! #shorts
And OSRS pls

You know I noticed that too, but i thought it was just my unit or netflix flickering. It wasn't enough to be a bother, but thanks for sharing
I also have this issue

Yeah, I've noticed that too. I hope they come out with a fix soon.
Try turning smooth display off if it's on. It fixed the issue for me.
There was an update that fixes this

Would love to see this doing some remote play on PlayStation

What chuwi tablet is better than this onn tablet?
Do you know how this compares to the ALLDOCUBE of the same 12" size?

That does make sense. A higher refresh rate ie. "smooth display" (probably) uses more electricity than a 60 hertz refresh rate.
You must not have a lot of tablets to say, " best speakers ever in a tablet." Lol
L1 google certified?
Yup
I got the onn surf 7 inch gen 3 2022 android 12 go edition And the UI looks so disappointing
What is the battery size expressed in mAh?
8000mAh
