- how DO ugly women attract rich, handsome, successful men? is there something that they know, that we don’t? or is it simply that these women, (though they may not be great beauties by today’s unrealistic beauty standards) are not ugly at all? and in actual fact, are extremely ATTRACTIVE in their own way? after all, beauty is subjective. what one person thinks is stunning, another may think is average at best. and what’s more - looks alone are not enough to carry a relationship. what’s more attractive than your physical appearance? humour. confidence. empathy. kindness. creativity. personality. none of these qualities have anything to do with what you look like physically, and yet they can make you very, very attractive. perhaps the reasons why ‘ugly’ women attract hot men, is because they are not ugly at all.

My friend is obese, not because she overeats but because she's been through a series of health problems, accidents and surgeries. However, her fiancé is tall, fit and conventionally handsome. I know her personally, so I understand why he's attracted to her. She's extremely confident and has just finished her PhD. She puts effort into how she dresses with flowy dresses and ethnic jewelry. She values herself and is not broken by the word 'fat'. At the end of the day, people treat you like you treat yourself. She respects herself and is respected wherever she goes.

I’ve always hated the “ugly but good-hearted” stereotype too. Men sometimes want a perfectly behaved woman and sometimes assume the “ugly” women will fit that role (as if “ugly” women will do anything to keep a man). I’m “ugly” and I’ve had men get frustrated with me for having flaws, bad days, and limitations (like any normal human has). It’s frustrating and for a long time I walked on eggshells to try to be “good” to make up for being “ugly”. I tried to not take up any space to make up for being fat. It was exhausting and stupid. I think “ugly” men can fall into that place as well of doing anything to keep a more attractive partner. It’s a shame.

I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but if you are the type to care about your image enough to exercise frequently, dress well, groom your beard, eyebrows etc as a man... you typically want a woman that does the same. I worked with a guy who was, on first impression, an absolute Adonis. So many of the girls that I worked with just fell all over him. Not me. It was so obvious that he thought sooooo much of himself. Looks, alone, are not enough for me. He was like beautiful package with a turd inside😂

Unrealistic beauty standards is just code for "I don't want to take care of myself, go to the gym and eat well." Almost any woman can be hot if she does those things, and seeing as how it's the only requirement put upon them, it's not too much to ask. Try being a man, we have pages of requirements, including being hot.

Looks are not everything. I’ve been with handsome guys, and they were a nightmare I'm not a woman who hates men or thinks men are less, but some guys you can't handle a conversation with. Many times, I felt like I was dating a boy, not a man, and they see me as a mom, even if I was younger!! lol I love taking care of a guy but sometimes was very childish behavior. The sex was amazing, but after that? I’ve been now with a guy, and most people keep saying he is ugly and that I should get better. But I have never met a guy who makes me feel so valuable and worthy. He takes care of me, I take of him, is lovely, and it's not about money-we both have similar incomes. It's even hard for me to explain, but I feel good being around him. He gives me joy. I feel is not only a boyfriend is a friend a partner a listener, and work both ways, we both learned so much from each other, no looks can replace that, Every time someone tries to say something about his appearance, I immediately cut them off and say, "Oh really? Well, I still prefer him over you anyway." Looks can be important at first, but after it can sustem a long term relationship.
I'm one of those unattractive women. My husband even knows it, and he loves my looks. When he showed some photos to some of his sisters, they said he could've done so much better and I was one of the most unattractive woman they had ever seen. They think I'm demonic of sorts because I'm gothic. He cussed them out and told them that I was very beautiful to him.
And it meant the world to me that he stood up for me whenever they said that. I'm not an attractive woman by any means of society standards. And he even told his brother "I'll admit shes not a damn super model, but its her heart that really makes me love her." And that made me very emotional. He's a sweet angel and I wish he knew how wonderful he is to me. Constantly people like his siblings say he could do better cause of my looks. But he loves me for my heart and the love I give.
Many people are ugly, yet on the outside, they can look beautiful. Also what those sisters forget but your hubby seems to know very well is, that beauty fades while the goodness of the soul stays, and that goodness is what gives people a glow and makes them look stunning.
I am unattractive too. As I get older I care less about that because I value pointless things like aesthetic beauty less. I also think people who care about that sort of stuff are shallow and so their opinions matter to me less. Its really freeing to not care about that sort of stuff anymore and I hope more girIies reach this stage where they dont put anymore stock into whether or not others think they loom good. Great video. I have been with my husband for 30 years. When we were first married, people often commented that he was too good looking for me. There was a very pretty girl in love with him and everyone wondered why he chose me. It's this simple, men fall in love with the way you make them feel. The pretty girl would enter the room and her demeanor said "Here I am." I said, "There you are." I may be an aquired face, I get mixed reviews, but 30 years later, my husband still calls me cute. Also, he's 4 years older and pushing 60. It all levels out. 😅

Hi, I'm one of those ugly women too. I'm 5'5" and weigh nearly 200lbs. My partner, lets call him Jim, is 5 years younger than me, 6ft tall, catwalk model build, beautiful face, eyes, long hair, everything. I know that his "friends" at his previous job used to convince him to leave me because I'm fat, ugly, and he could do so much better. Same with his parents, they are against our relationship, they call me a porker etc. But he always says I'm the most beautiful and sexiest woman in the world. All these people who make fun of me have no idea how we are together, how we get along, that we literally read each other's minds, and communicate without words.

It's self confidence/charm that keeps someone around, not looks. Looks may open the door to more possibilities but that soon wears thin as you become used to them. They hv to hv something else going on for the long haul. Some do, some don't.
Many people don't go for looks alone, I am one of them; nothing wrong with being good looking either, I am not slating them at all. I have good looking family members, one relied on it too much, one didn't take it seriously eg, it didn't define her. I don't find it interesting beyond the initial attraction.
You immediately know everything you need to know about someone the moment they call a stranger - whose life is none of their business - ugly. They are just deflecting from their own (internal and external) ugliness.
This what you called true love, they definitely love the person not for their look but for their personality.
This all makes me so uncomfortable. Human beings are flawed, diverse and thats what makes them beautiful… i couldnt imagine being treated this way😢
I think women, that have been told they are ugly since childhood/teenage years , learn very quickly to not rely on their looks and naturally spend more time improving their intelligence, sense of humor and making career, finding hobbies. Also I can imagine how attractiveness can be a burden, because you often don't really know, if a person truly loves you or they only like your looks and will vanish as soon as you become visually unattractive (same with being rich and/or famous). One thing is clear: doesn't matter if you are attractive or not, being a woman always sucks, just in different ways🙃Cause we live in a judgmental society with double standards, and no one is safe. Kudos to all conventionally unattractive women who managed to find reliable, caring and loving husbands.

Wow, this actually is so true. As soon as I hit puberty, I got really bad acne and started to devalue myself because of the beauty standereds I saw all over the internet, and becuase of the stress I started to gain weight. This led me to give up on my looks, and start working on myself (which has made me a better person in the long run).

I'm an attractive women yet I never been in a relationship. Nobody can tell by looking at me. Their is more to relationships then apperance. I have self esteem issues that blocked me from getting into relationships. Women are beautiful no matter the dumb beauty standard. Plus the beauty standard changes over time.
Yeah I feel you…28 and been in 1 short relationship so far. I have had a lot of ppl be interested in me but I’ve struggled with childhood trauma, self esteem issues, intimacy and commitment issues. It doesn’t matter how good you look, if we don’t heal from internal issues we will always attract and be attracted to toxic people. I also don’t care for male validation and attention the way I used to seek it in my earlier 20s… it amounts to nothing in the end. Your own self love and confidence is the best thing you can invest in.
Similar to you, people have said I’m pretty enough to model, but growing up with toxic family and emotional abuse, and not being pretty as a kid, I’m still that awkward hurt girl inside no matter how physically attractive. And I’ve attracted men that are not interested in my depth when it is deep like an ocean, they only care about the looks. So I relate to you girl 😢

The level of good common sense in this clip is beyond the roof. These are the kind of commentaries that should be viewed in school classes. It is like shaping education of valuable knowledge in a mere video clip. The attributes I like the most in people is serenity and loyalty, in particular in a partner. Of course some physical appearances and features should appeal to my preferences but there is a huge lot more conditions in terms of non-physical characteristics in a human that will form my willingness to become acquainted with someone.
Conventional beauty standards are for impressionable idiots who can't think for themselves and always have been. IMO it's a sign of maturity and independence to see beyond them and learn instead to follow what your heart tells you is beautiful.

I don’t think Aaron Taylor Johnson’s situation is applicable in this case. While it may be wrong for people to call his wife ugly, the bulk of the criticism comes from the fact that she knew him as a child and started dating him when he was freshly 18. At the time she was in her 40s and married with kids.
