Just replaced my VVTi intake sprocket and chain while still in the car so I know how difficult it was. Great job on the video, and best of luck with your channel. Rock on brother.
Hey, how do you take the cover out of the engine bay. I got everything off and the cover is away from the engine but it won’t come out past the crankshaft because of the oil pump that’s made into the cover
@alexr9490 I moved the AC compressor and it created enough room. Removing the studs that go through the AC compressor makes it easy to move rather than sliding the AC Compressor off the studs while studs are attached to the engine.
The camshaft timing is not going to be correct on every rotation due to the ratio of the smaller crankshaft sprocket. Its a good thing it fooled you though. At the point when it growls on cold start you need a new chain. The VVT cog should always be replaced though. Churn and burn bro.
I still cannot understand the nail in the tensioner step. Stick a nail, spin the crankshaft, and then what? Wait for it to wiggle a little bit and that’s supposed to indicate it’s good to go?? I’m legitimately lost because I have no idea where you’re supposed to go with it. Good walkthrough, if anyone wanted to assist with that, it’d be appreciated.
@jasonelizanigel9381 the nail in the tensioner stops the piston in the tensioner from extending all the way out. This makes the chain loose and allows you to make adjustments as you need to. Once you're done making adjustments, take the nail out and the chain should be tight again.

Don’t know nothing about cars but I’m here to support ✨
Do you have a parts list for the seals on the cover and on engine side? Camshaft seals
Looks like 4 larger seals and 4 smaller diameter seals

Thank you. That is the same one I found on the Fel Pro site. I got it in my amazon cart
Without taking off sprockets first will you not have enough room to remove the cover ?
@julioruiz1232 correct and definitely not enough space to install with the required gasket on it

@KineticAuto thank you for the advice. I will do this tomorrow and see if I can finish this job

@ipissed after 3-4 rotation the timing marks should align. They didn't. That happens sometimes when the tensioner is too loose and the chain jumps
