I’m an Arsenal fan who lives in Newcastle so crossed paths with you somewhere along the way. Thanks for always providing insightful analysis that the broadcasters would benefit from rather than all the tired cliches they regurgitate.
The "Headless Chicken" - Almiron - also introduces an element of randomness that can confuse the opposition as well as break up attacks and assist limited counter attacks. Bwaaaaaark !
The best defensive display I’ve ever seen. Dogged, determined. Centre backs were incredible. Centre mids were incredible. Most beautiful defensive masterclass out there. I didn’t even know it existed.
@@jamesjasons1980martinelli through on goal, timber mistiming his header and not being able to get it down, and like 3-4 times where loads of scrappy shit happened in the box and we couldn’t put it in the net. If we are being honest to say “defensive masterclass” is a bit silly, it’s just arsenal still having the same issue of not being able to finish goals from open play. Arsenal were the dominant team, created more chances and it wasn’t their night. However, Newcastle had the 12th man with the fans, I was at the emirates and it was embarrassing how quiet the arsenal fans were. And also I’d like to say that every time Newcastle went forward they looked like they were going to score. They played really well putting clinical passes down the wings and playing the offside trap well, and there were some really good blocks and tackles on behalf of Newcastle. Arsenal never should have started havertz, I feel like we looked like our heads weren’t in the game from the off, and going to st James park and getting 2 goals, I’m 90% sure will not happen. I think this sums it up, from an unbiased arsenal fan.

Awesome video with some astute analysis. Howe has previously tinkered with Joelinton dropping into the backline when he recognises an overload (clever lad wor Joe). I think the addition of Tonali gives everyone more confidence to roam into other positions effectively, so I think we'll see more of Joe dipping back to solidify the defense. It also acts as a decent counter attack when he wins possession. 5-5-0 was pure Fifa madness - we love to see it. HWTL! Arteta's crying over the balls again.
Tonali is incredible. Watching his reading and positioning is a lesson to all players and fans. He’s the reason Dubravka and the defence has had ver6 little attempts on goal over the last seven matches.
The media are trying to spin this narrative that Arteta is blaming the ball for the loss which is utter BS. The reporter asked him a question about the ball and he answered it.
100% correct about Murphy and Isak's connection. They just fit each other perfectly. Reminds me of Shearer and Stuart Ripley in the Blackburn team. Stuart Ripley was a good player but never world class, but his crossing for Shearer was excellent and consistent. So many goals scored for Big Al because of Ripley. Long may it continue.
Great video Adam. Your analysis is great as always but your presentation was excellent today. Really engaging. Full backs into the half space and wingers into the full back positions. It just stifles these guys.

Funny how Arsenal fans are so fussy about the Isak "push" on Odegaard when Havertz was pulling Hall down on that chance, Dubravka got bumped one another chance, and there's a third one where an Arsenal player was tackling a Newcastle defender that I can't name at the moment. Football fans truly have blinders when it comes to their teams.

Tired legs, fatigue, and niggles made the 5-4-1 and 5-5 a smarter option than going for a wide-open game and potentially swapping goals with Arsenal. Great effort, but if the ball bounces differently at SJP in a month, the game could be 0-2 and then it goes to penalties. It ain't over, but the position is pretty damn nice!
