I just retired in Oct (I work per diem about 3-4x/ month now). I have been enjoying your content. I am 66, no kids at home, my to-do daily surrounds physical activity- walking, running, biking, pickleball, kayaking, rebounder, maxiclimber, swimming, weightlifting (8-20 lbs hand weights at home as I just find gyms not to my liking in the past). I have just gotten a physical planner for 2025 for budgeting, so I can see where the money actually goes in terms of unnecessary spending. Meal planning is on my list to improve in 2025, because cooking for one is not very exciting. The number of planners you have here is overwhelming for me, and there seems to be room for consolidation, which I think you know. I do get that separation of some aspects might be valuable for you. I hope you find a system that works for all the facets of your life.
@@carolynh4428 I need to do better on the “physical” part of retirement. I used to go to the gym all the time and currently enjoying alone time and quiet time too much. 🤷🏼♀️
My only plan for 2025 is to track every penny that I spend or receive. It will eventually become a budget. I am 54 and have ever done this. Starting out with a physical ‘budget book’ spiral notebook. My word of the year is “intentional”.
I put my resolutions or as I call them "What I plan on doing this year...." in my bullet journal with a page for each goal to tick off or color in. This year I have also made a screensaver/wallpaper for my laptop that has my goals there so I am reminded every time I log on. Watching your videos has me thinking I need to explore digital planning more but I know paper and pen are important too as the hand is the instrument of the mind! Also I don't own a tablet, so that is a factor too! Being on winter break has freed up my mind to think of more goals, dreams, aspirations as I am not retired yet but after working 10 hours or so I'm often too tired to dream....
@@JuliesRichLife I love digital planning and notebooks. I “write” a lot with my Apple Pencil and I have a PaperLike screen protector that makes writing on my iPad super fun!
I hear ya on needing different types of systems for different things. I use a google calendar for appointments, etc. i like to use a paper notebook for my brain dumps and to do lists. I like a spiral rip out style so I can toss pages I don’t need anymore. I use a digital spread sheet for my finances/budget. So I’m a combo of paper and digital - I still and a manual list writer cause it gives me comfort haha.
Hey Melinda, as I mentioned in a previous comment a few week's back - I am right there with you when it comes to planners. I also use 6 different notebooks, planners, etc and just like you, i have one that is just for brain dumps - mainly ideas for my channel. I do have a question - you mentioned a course on creating a journal. Is that online? If so, can you share more information? I would like to create one myself in 2025 but yet to explore how
I feel like this next year is going to be better. The last 4 were really hard with inflation. Im going to track what I don’t spend $$ on, that way I can see how much I saved. My word is BREATHE.
I would probably buy a Blackstone type griddle over a traditional grill, someone gave me a Blackstone that needs cleaned up and that’s one of my resolutions to clean the Blackstone and start using it.
I really enjoy your channel. Love the idea of a new challenge every month! I just retired right before Christmas and am looking for something to give structure to my days. This video is helpful. Thanks!
I love that you want to buy a boat! Do you know how to drive one? The reason I ask is I want to learn how this year also! So I was surprised to see that you want to also.

@@themonogrammom Same!!! It’s getting easier to track and I’m less scared of finding out where my money is really going.

My favorite chocolate chip recipe is on the Crisco sticks paper information included.
