Amen! That’s the only way I can begin this comment. You spoke from the heart and you described exactly how I feel. I don’t want to be called a minimalist. I don’t want to be called anything. I just want to live my life more simply and more abundantly. “Livingsimplytosimplylive” is not just an email address or username for me. It’s how I strive to live my life. Saying thank you seems so hollow and I really do thank you for your channel and your words of counsel.

A habit I've gleaned from an English teacher is critiquing commercials for their misuse of language. She found billboards ever so irritating. Semantics is a hot topic, isn't it. Talk about a conversation going sideways! Thank you, Tim, for this reminder of my need to cull useless things from my life.

Happy to be minimalist in my ownership of material things. I find no pressure in it, no rules. The less I have the less I have to maintain.. My eyes can rest on what I really enjoy and sometimes that is simply space...

The best part of TV back then was the channel signed off and you couldn't watch 24x7. Well....technically you could watch a blank screen. It is unhealthy to need to be entertained every minute. There is such peace and connection in listening to silence.

Rich in what matters most is very special to me. I liked this talk very much. If it doesn’t enhance or help my life it doesn’t have a place in it. That has been how I’ve lived since my husband passed. He had many treasures & not one of his things went with him but I like to think the love we shared did ❤

A new video from you and perfect timing while waiting for my husband’s dr’s appt to be over. I remember a dream I had decades ago where I found the meaning of life. I woke up disappointed because I couldn’t remember it. All I knew was that it was simple. That’s the answer. Humans love to complicate things and it’s pretty evident in this chaotic, confusing world we live in. Thank you Tim 😊

Simplicity has been my word this year! I’ve been decluttering in all areas of my life and friends have asked why I want to be a minimalist. I don’t strive to be a minimalist; I strive to simplify! Thanks, Tim.

Simplicity. I’m aware of a shift in what’s most important to me and I’m finally putting more meaningful thought into how I want to demonstrate, achieve and experience those ideals. I’m sure that sounds odd, considering I’m 63 and probably should have figured things out long ago. Simplicity…clearing out the physical (and mental) baggage that clouds our journey and hides the beauty around us. Thanks, Tim. Another great teaching/awareness moment with you - I appreciate you!

Too many options to choose from tend to make people unhappy. No matter if it is the supermarket or the "dating market" or the 300+ TV channels. I guess our hunter-gatherer brains are just not made for the constant onslaught of choices and informations. Simplicity is much needed around the world right now. Especially with the holidays approaching. It always makes me sad how consumerism seems to erase the "Christ" from Christmas and makes it a "Buy more" mas. Sigh. But anyways, I am rambling. Thank you for your voice of reason in often unreasonable times ❤️🤗 God bless you 🙏

It's sad that we have become a society where possessions and 'acquiring more' seems to drive our lives. I'm 74 and remember the tv shows you referenced and how much simpler life was. I truly miss those days. Perhaps 'decluttering' for some of us is our way of getting back to those times.

Once again you’ve done it! I really like the word simplicity. I thought essentialism was a good word to define what I’ve been trying to do. I do not like anything minimal with what I perceive as a cold stark nothing personal space. I know that isn’t everyone’s definition of minimalism, but that what I think about it. I used to read the cutest book to my daughter when she was young. The title was Simple Pictures Are Best. It became kinda like my mantra or catch phrase whenever I tried to complicate anything. She’s picked it up too. So when either of us want to add more to anything, flower arrangements, a get together, holiday decor, one of up would say, simple pictures are best. Always got a laugh and helped us calm down and simplify! Thank you for another thought provoking talk! Merry Christmas

Minimalism, to me is too strident. Essentialism too confusing because it assumes that one is alone in any of the choices to be made. For those living in shared spaces, simplicity seems much more accessible and agreeable. Each can have their own version, some aspects shared and some not. What a unique concept to place into the chaos of getting less.

A lot of the times we think we'll get rid of stuff and make our homes look like it's a hotel room. But you can achieve that unless you have the habit of putting things away right after you use it or doing the dishes right away after you eat or having a place for every item.Do you have a place for your keys?Do you have a place for your scissors?Do you have a place for your pencils et cetera. I was thinking that it can be overwhelming when you've keep finding more and more and more stuff. But then I thought but that's good because if it's causing me to feel stressed it's just proves'd in itself that I have way too much stuff. For example my ex husband who had a drinking problem and was abused as a child had the top drawer in the bedroom full of pens. There must have been at least 400 pence, and it was from different countries or different areas or different things. That people gave him and by the time I got rid of his pens that were not useful. They were broken or they were dried up. There was above 2510 that were useful and good out of the 400..
I can't stand having clutter around me because I can't sleep properly. Just to think that all the stuff that I have is gathering.Dust and dust mites really bothers me. If you're going to live life, you should always be clean. You don't have to be a perfectionist. That would drive me nuts, but I'm the type of person that likes to keep my counters clean. I like to keep my floor clean. And I like to have nothing under the bed. Or under the couch in storage. Nothing on the floor I used to have that. And The dust that gathered under there really bothered me. Why should we spend our life cleaning and rearranging? What are we gonna do? And that's the last thing that our grandchildren. Are our children remember us doing? Oh, Grandpa. He was please moving things around. He was always dusting. But he never took trips. He never lived his life. He never seen the countries that he always wanted to go to. Only looked at the beautiful countries on TV.Well, everybody else was enjoying.
Going there. The younger generation wants to experience life. Experience going places whereile they are still young and healthy. So I say, as you get older. Do thanks nothing worse than going to the Grave and say to yourself.I wish I had gone to Europe.I wish I'd done that, but I had too many things to even.
Experience the life that we always were meant to live We came into this world with nothing. And why should we leave it with so much.
