The clear acrylic is deceptive in the way that it tricks the eye to thinking you’re getting more product than you actually are
To me, the packaging looks like the try hard “fancy” stuff at Costco that a well meaning husband would throw in the cart around Christmas time

JLO definitely looks her age if you see her non-photoshopped photos... and that’s ok!! Some ppl act like it’s not ok to age but it’s reality. We all age and she looks her age, which is fine bc she looks great!

She definitely doesn't look like an average 50 year old. Would be weird if she did with the facelift she had and all the money she throws into her looks.
She definitely looks younger than the Golden Girls did at her age. I've seen her unmade up and in Photoshopped and she look like a lot of 32 year olds look.
The packaging makes me think of it being like a pampering gift set that you get for Christmas from someone who doesn't know you very well and had no idea what to get you but just thought "eh she likes skincare right?"

I once did a ton of research into how celebrities age so well and it basically came down to this: it’s not any one thing that they do it’s that they are constantly doing a bunch of things that help along the way, like what someone does for a spa day once a year might be once a week for a celeb. This explanation makes sense to me, along with having access to serious doctors that specialize in undetectable treatments/fillers etc.
Wish more people realized this instead of feeling bad that they don’t look the same way celebrities do after turning 40, having babies, etc.

The packaging and the names look like T.J. Maxx/Marshall’s rejects. I’m old enough to remember the days when a product line like this would’ve never been picked up by Sephora. Funny how things change.

I came to say the same thing. I love Jlo and I think she has beautiful skin and a rockin’ body, super talented, a hard worker, etc...but these aren’t the products she’s been using all these years. She has a team of people making sure she looks fantastic and has had a few nips and tucks for sure. All that to say, I won’t be purchasing her line. The names of them are cringe-y and a bit juvenile.

The way JLO looks at 50 is PURELY genetics. her coming out with this line is just a cash grab for her to say this is how u can look like me, even though she most likely doesnt use it. Kathleen wanting Jlo’s skin ... but I want Kathleen’s skin.
She denied having ever had any fillers or anything, which was a disappointment. She has such a huge clout, she should use it to normalise people doing whatever they want to their faces instead of trying to make us believe she looks that way all due to genetics and not drinking coffee... ohh, of course, and her skincare line. Ugh.
Also, the only definition of “clean” beauty acceptable should be sustainable and ethically sourced and produced. It seems that packaging shows no concern about recycling, the environment and sustainability...
I hate being a Negative Nancy towards JLo, who is an icon and skin goals... but I had high expectations for her and the brand’s approach was all wrong for me...
It seems like the ingredients in the serum are pretty good, though. Highly doubt they’re worth the price ;)

Here’s a review- it’s EXACTLY like Charlotte Tilbury’s Hollywood Flawless Filter, only with better packaging and less shades. It’s literally the EXACT SAME PRODUCT only packaged better. If you want an in depth review, check out Hannah Louise Poston’s channel. She compared Auric to the Flawless Filter and Flawless Filter to Chanel’s Les Beiges illuminator. She did WORK.

The packaging shows J.Lo's age. This looks like something my mom used in the 80s. Honestly, the color is nice but the packaging to me is horrible and extremely bulky.

Is anyone else incredibly skeptical of Celebrity skincare? Unless they are bottling their dermatologist I just won't be running out to get them when they release. I am sure there are good ones but ill wait a good one year after release so I have enough reviews.
When I seen that hustlers movie and other pics, I realised her skin isn't all the different frok the rest of us. I think she looks in her early 40s. She looks amazing, but I don't think her skin has anything extra going on. Just good genetics and she takes care of herself. And she's got more money than she knows what to do with.
All major celebrities go to the dermatologist to get laser treatments and so forth. Those do WONDERS for your skin. I know people that get it every 3-6 months and most dermatologists recommend it if you can afford it. There's so much skincare technology that "normal" people havent heard of or do because it's quite costly. She has crazy beautiful skin and anti aging stuff going on but its all $$$
Well, remember that TV and Movies use “Beautywork” in post production, so, she probably doesn’t look half as good in real life as she did in the movie.
Also Kathleen if u could make a “best perfumes at Marshall’s/tj max” video id be eternally grateful. I trust ur scent expertise and that’s the only place I buy perfumes lol
It's hard though as every TK Maxx has different stock...
You can't ever really predict what perfumes will be at TJ Maxx though. It always changes.
As far as I know, Kathleen rarely ever leaves her home, so it would be VERY difficult for her to do that style of video from TJMaxx or Marshall's. I don't know if I've ever seen her even do a haul from either of those stores.

She can't claim that her $100 products are affordable lmao. Also the whole "I use olive oil" thing when she also has access to dermatologist, expensive facials, nutritionists, etc. really rubs me the wrong way. She's not relatable at all.

Sarah Franklin totally agree with you. Also she's one of the old school celebs from the 90s where they were never truthful with the public about anything. And when they were asked why their skin looked so great they'd all say, "I drink a lot of water and I do Pilates" 😂😂

On JLO zoom event she shows how to use everything. The mask you use both loops on your ears each side to lift the chin and neck. Instead of leaving one hanging. You place both on each ear and it lifts your face.

If anyone needs a drugstore sunscreen recommendation, I love the Olay one! The whole line is great, but the SPF fees nice and I don’t have any issues under makeup. So important to wear daily!
Her packaging is there to remind us that she is still just Jenny from the block... the Rite-Aid right up the block! I kid, and I love J Lo, but I’m not buying into this line. With a lifetime of hours of dance on the daily, healthy lifestyle and great plastic surgeons, I’ve just accepted that serums and creams aren’t going to have me looking like J Lo.

I have green eyes and i have trouble with light sensitivity also.... it’s so bad when it’s snowed and everything is reflective.
Same here. Green eyes and very sensitive to sunlight. Sometimes I cannot even open my eyes when I am outside. Needless to say, I have a bazillion pairs of sunglasses.
I have super light blue eyes and yeah I have huge issues with light as well. I have to keep the blinds at work closed all the time otherwise the sun reflects off the white building next door and it would kill my eyes and I go home with a headache.
I’m reading it’s the lack of melanin. We have less protection because they’re lighter in color ☹️
Same here 🙋🏼♀️ pale blue eyes and my ophthalmologist told me it’s common for brighter eye colors to be light sensitive. It’s weird, can’t even keep my eyes open outside and don’t get me started on clear blue skies - all I see is “flies” lol

It could just be that you’re more sensitive to light in general, especially if it’s longstanding, but try some dry eye drops to ensure that’s not a contributing factor. Especially as your work involves a lot of screen use, this could definitely be making your symptoms worse.

Never ask the internet about your health. You could have a pimple and people will convince you that you died like 3 weeks ago haha
I tried her tightening serum and then mixed the moisture riser with the warm glow serum at Sephora and OMG. My dehydrated skin was so moist for hours later until I washed t off fr bed. I even face timed my daughter and she asked what filter I was using. I spent hundreds on medical grade skincare and this Jlo by far did the work
Question for everyone against using their fingers in their skin care products: When are your fingers ever cleaner than when you’re applying your skin care products? You just washed your hands when washing your face, after which is when you would start putting on your products.
So for me its the open container which allows contamination and air into the product because even if it wasn't a tub like container I would still use my fingers to apply. I'm also kinda weird about somethings because I'm a lab scientist/microbiologist but those are my reasons. Usually with a squeeze tube like container its a one way out mechanism.

*The BEST SPF is Josie Maran’s SPF 47 with Radiance. It’s basically the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter as a sunscreen and I LOVE IT! Especially under makeup. There’s also a tinted version and just a regular SPF.*

So I’ve been using the “Jlo Glow” serum and I actually love it! My skin feel so soft, hydrated and glossy in terms of anti age I’m not sure since that takes more time but after 3 weeks I love it!

I think your eyes might have to do with the fact you stay in your house a lot more these days. You’ve mentioned before you stay inside more now due to COVID. I find the same thing when I’m off work and don’t go outside, my eyes get used to indoor lighting more. That’s my assumption from personal experience and also things you mention lol
It is bcz we are home more it actually hurts my eyes argh so annoying bcz it’s winter here or else I would keep my ass outside.

I actually like the packaging, she did say she wanted to focus more on the ingredients then the packaging to make it more affordable for everyone to get. Yes maybe the acrylic was unnecessary but I like the gold. I got a sample of the that jlo glow and I really like it too. Great review girl 💕

about squinting in the sun: as you age the muscle in your iris that adjusts the amount of light that goes into the pupil gets weaker (which is also why people become far sighted in older age) so you compensate by squinting your eyelids instead
I also think the thick acrylic is really 2017 and kinda cheap. Doesn’t feel luxe to me. If it were just that coppery tub id like it a lot more
Honestly, the packaging seems like it’s trying too hard to be ‘luxe.’ I appreciate so much when brands use minimal yet classy packaging. I have no room in my collection for giant tubs that only contain a small amount of product.

I agree with Kathleen, the serum and moisturizer does give a nice glow to the face. I actually really liked it and was able to see a difference the next morning. The packaging doesn’t really bother me but maybe is because I don’t display my skincare. If the moisturizer was in a bottle with a pump now that would be very helpful. Regardless of me enjoying the products I can’t keep on justifying the price.

@@peppasmith5633 it's not haram just that nail polish is thick so water can't get through the layer so problems with wudu. Just that the abulation is invalid however companies are coming up with halal nail polish, don't know the legitimacy of that tbh 😅 but regardless, there's no dalil or fatwa that says nail polish is haram you can apply it during your periods ofcourse! But you'll have to remove it before making ghusl or making wudu.

I have green eyes too and I also need to wear my sunglasses sometimes even inside and I’ve been told that green eyes usually have a light and sun sensitivity.
