I have everything from the OG Colourpop quad to the So Jaded palette, and I always love following your inspo with them. (I think I could recreate this eye look with the So Jaded palette.) Seeing the OG and throwback products in shop my stash videos brings me back to watching YT beauty videos back in 2012-2013 (I was with you in the Mississippi days) when I was a new mom and had many late nights. Seeing the nostalgic products is so sweet and heartwarming and brings all the memories of that time flooding back. That’s why we collect makeup, right? It’s beyond the products themselves and all the many things we tie them to in our life’s journey. It would be fun to see you recreate some of your old favorite looks/videos but with products you would use now. (Ex: drugstore bridal makeup tutorial- you did it with the walking on eggshells palette- which I love! I literally just went through some of my makeup and it’s soooo overwhelming. Keeping track of newer and older products I have to be so careful as a freelance MUA. Went months without working or even doing my own makeup and all I did was order makeup online so now I just have so much makeup new and old and I forget what I already have... had to throw out a bunch.. and now I’ve been so depressed and not taking clients so I’m literally just collecting makeup and putting myself into debt.🙃 an order just came in too from amazon... currently also waiting on elf and colourpop orders... how do I stop!? Omg someone send hellllpppp.
There’s a subreddit that’s called makeuprehab for people that wants to hop off the makeup consumerism train. Every time you want to make a purchase, you can ask people to talk you out of it, and you have to list things such as if you already own something similar, why do you want it, your budget, why you think you don’t need it or why are you asking for people’s help. Even if you don’t get any answer, just writing those things out helps a whole lot with impulse buying! I have also imposed a “two week rule” where I can’t buy something as soon as I see it (unless it is a previously planned purchase/replacement) but have to wait for 2 weeks. Chances are I would probably forget about it by then.
I also am bad with negative self talk so mantras aren’t my strong suit.😞 I will try that though! And unfortunately I am not currently working. Although I tell myself I will be able to soon, and use that to justify my purchases. I also have subscription boxes like boxycharm and ipsy.. then see the sales on those and it’s so hard to resist. I’ve tried canceling subscriptions and unsubscribing from emails. And wow I’ve never heard of that!? I feel so stupid lol but I don’t know what a subreddit is. But I’m sure it is nothing google can’t tell me about lol. That sounds super interesting! Cause I try to do that process in my head alone, and the few times where I fill my cart up but force myself to wait, I have felt so empowered and ended up deleting most, if not all of the items. Having a place to talk about that stuff sounds like it would be super helpful! I’m definitely going to look into that. Thank you so much.🙏🏼 We can all do this! If make up didn’t expire I don’t think I would be this hard on myself or feel AS bad but that’s another thing to keep in mind, it doesn’t last forever, liquid/cream products especially have short lives. I have probably 15 concealers on the go and only 4 are from my kit. 2 of my personal ones are 3 years old which is super embarrassing to admit because I know better (OBVIOUSLY would never use my personal stuff/anything old on a client-ever) but I have such a weird attachment to makeup. So I’m glad videos like this exist and that other people get it. Much needed reminder.... We need to use what we have!! And for me, throw some of it away.🤦🏼♀️

Yeees! A series! I would love to see a look that you can wear with certain colour outfits. In my case what to do with a purple or aubergine colour dress, as well as a black swing dress (think Hepburn) with yellow embroidery (I'm cool toned with Hazel eyes myself). I just can't think of anything other than purple or silver with the first and a simple black liner with red lip for the second. I'll wear these soon for the holidays and need creative ideas! But if you do a look for most worn colours this AW season that could help maybe.

I would love to see a look that you can wear with certain colour outfits. In my case what to do with a purple or aubergine colour dress, as well as a black swing dress (think Hepburn) with yellow embroidery (I'm cool toned with Hazel eyes myself). I just can't think of anything other than purple or silver with the first and a simple black liner with red lip for the second. I'll wear these soon for the holidays and need creative ideas! But if you do a look for most worn colours this AW season that could help maybe.
