I can honestly say after now owning an Eastman for while and playing a few, these guitars are not only great value for money, but just amazing instruments for any price. Try em out.
Hey Jason, thank you for letting the guitar players play a bit! You are one of the only guys that let us listen to the instruments. Noticed this on a lot of your interviews, thanks!
I was in a guitarshop one time and realized hat I wasn’t wearing any trousers. Unfettered, I tried an Eastman and the tones were so t I forgot I wasn’t wearing any trousers.
I agree that the varnish looks great, but I could do without the antiquing. From more recent pictures and videos online, it looks like they have made the antiquing much more mild and I think it looks much better.
I have the t/58v. Stellar guitar. That relic finish makes it feel worn in like an old friend. I was against relic'ing back in the day and their are some that I don't like but this is tastefully done.
Can't say that top looks very appealing on the LP at all, yuck, but the nuts and bolts of it sounds nice. They seriously need to make it look more appealing, looks like someone had an accident on it. Price sounds ok if it is all it's cracked up to be. They should offer pickup options though.
These Eastman "Les Pauls" also come shiny new in Gloss Nitro with a beautiful solid maple cap, cheaper than the varnish version. Why not? The Eastman Les Paul copies are better then most Gibson Les Pauls for 1/2 of the price or even less....even better then most of the Custom Shop Models. Gibson's quality drop is obvious.
So one that looks and sounds like a Les Paul, for about the same price, but without any of the cachet. Then, one that looks and sounds like Gretsch, but for more money and still none of the cachet and then one that was mildly interesting, but only because they put a Tele neck pickup on a 335.
generationhardcore I'm not saying that it's poorly made. It sounds just like a Les Paul and the ebony fingerboard is a slight upgrade, but it's not offering anything significantly different or a better price and it doesn't have the name. If I wanted a guitar that's that similar to a Les Paul, I don't see any reason to buy the Eastman instead of just buying Gibson.
I've been personnaly disapointed with gibson's offerings as of late, and for the same price you'd have a gibson with rosewood fretboard, maybe classic 57 pickups (which are great, but the seymour duncan antiquities beat them nonetheless). you can also take into account that finish thing they've got which can look good (not really my thing though ^^ ) My point is just that these are probably better than most Les Paul gibson sells for the same price point, so that's where i disagree a bit with you. You can still get a very good Les Paul from gibson for that price, but you'll get a slightly better, slightly more beautiful (or not, taste and colors) with better specs from Eastman. Also, no trace of ebony board on some Custom Shop Gibson (5000+ usd) so it's not that common :) and I guess we agree on the Eastman but I'd at least try it out to see how it feels. Cheers
John Maloney If you go to Eastman's website you'll find the pricing of their non-antique finished guitars are a sight cheaper and are highly competitive. If you prefer to buy a guitar because of a brand name then that's up to you, but I'd rather choose the guitar that feels, sounds, plays and looks better. That can only be done fairly when they're in your hands. You can't tell that from a UA-cam video.

Eastman guitars for president!
Beautiful guitar I love it when you see the video
Very cool guitar and custom shop
Yep love the violin varnish look
Beautiful guitars!
I really love this, prefer the varnish finish, love the aged look
I was in a guitarshop one time and realized hat I wasn’t wearing any trousers. Unfettered, I tried an Eastman and the tones were so t I forgot I wasn’t wearing any trousers.
love the varnish finish, not so much the antiqueing
mike jones I’d love one especially varnish finish but not relice , hopefully they will bring one out
I agree that the varnish looks great, but I could do without the antiquing. From more recent pictures and videos online, it looks like they have made the antiquing much more mild and I think it looks much better.
what kind of mahogany is that. It shines so beautifully
That guy is a brilliant player.
SB59/v : Bought one today....should have it next week. And they're $1599
They one in the video costs 2'200. Guess you ordered the SB59 model...the antique vanish one is 2'200.
I have the t/58v. Stellar guitar. That relic finish makes it feel worn in like an old friend. I was against relic'ing back in the day and their are some that I don't like but this is tastefully done.
That rockabilly one looks really nice
Eastman makes nice nice les paul copies also their archtops
Very, very nice these laquer.
I'm not into relic but dam that sounds and looks fantastic. Love violin maple finish.
brillant 😊
sweet
gosh that looked so cool in the thumbnail and so bad in the video.
I have les Paul
Play it before you buy it. Not all are good quility as they claim.
Are these made in China?
It's true.
$2000 for a Chinese guitar. Only a complete fool would buy one
@Tony Dinh no we do care about where it's made because in China they use cheap materials, and the resale value is terrible
iPhone are made in China ...
Everything is made in China
So you can find good and bad things
Eastman guitars are excellent
If tone is in the hands...
Your guitar as sounds like a les Paul std
poor gibson they are fktjk

Ugh... more fake relic-ing? I had hoped that trend was dead.
And no more Les Paul replicas, come on you luthiers!
Don't like it? Don't buy one. No one is forcing you.
They have a non-relic'd one!
It looks indeed like a vandalized Les Paul with none of the warmth and colour to the tone.

Amateur finish... screwed up call it a relic

about the lespaul copy: 1 piece mahogany body, carved top, ebony fretboard and seymour duncan antiquities pickups ... what more do you want :/ ?

John Maloney...Right on both comments. I just don't get it either.
