Intersection departures from the 10/28s are common at O'hare, because it allows arriving aircraft to taxi across the active departing runway without having to wait. This in turn helps keep the traffic flow running smoothly. If you notice when you turn on the runway at 6:58, a United Express E175 is about to turn and cross in the back of the 777 via the next taxiway further down. As the 777 spools up you see multiple aircraft on the parallel taxiway, backtracking to cross the runway at the designated point further down.
The P&W 4077 turbofans give so much power during takeoff. I noticed that this airplane didn't use a whole lot of runway before lifting off. This must've been one of the originally delivered Boeing 777-200ERs to United back in the early '90s.
It takes years to repaint a fleet of 900! its not a fast process, its done when needed. Back in 93 when the Battleship started it took almost 5 years to complete and we had around 550 then.
Beautiful PW4000 sounds.
Indeed!
True, powerful and loud
The older PW4000s sound incredible, even a bit better than newer GE90s.
Excellent video clip of loud United 777 take off out of O'Hare

I love taking off from ORD.
Beautiful take off.
Thanks a lot!
Nice one 👍✈️
Sounds very much like the Trent XWB on the A350!!

The 777 also has a really efficient wing too which helps with takeoff distance
Cool
Nice shooting. 10L is 13000 feet long, and a B777 loaded for an under-3 hr flight probably requires less than half that with generous safety margin
Thanks for the info!
ORD is my hometown airport and I’ve flown this route many times
I still like the sound of the GE90 tbh
Beautiful video 😊😊
Many thanks
I'm amazed to see that almost 50% of United's fleet is STILL THE OLD HYBRID livery! What is taking so long to repaint?

Pretty sure this is the Evo blue, not a hybrid livery. Switching from the beautiful Continental-Merger livery still disappoints me.
I wonder how much longer United will keep the PW 777s in their fleet?
They just came out of storage
Keeping for 100 year old! PW4000 Boeing 777 200er
Never ever! Retired pw4000 Boeing 777 200er keeping forever then ever and then ever
That's a tough one (probably until year 2040-2045 latest). PW and RR are not planning on ever making new ones so it will most likely just be the GE90.
@@Roboseal2 nooooooooo don’t want all pw4090 engine Boeing 777 200er be scrapped😭
Youe spaceship is about be fun
@TheFejfAviation do you set up the camera on a suction on the window?
Sometimes do sometimes don't.
ОППОПОПООП
TIME TO RETIRE THAT OLD 777 DOG
They are pretty old. The galley looks terrible, very aged.
Cool
