Hi GoPro doesn't make karma anymore but still sell it with GoPro 5 and grib and other stuff for $1000. I am looking to buy action camera like GoPro and its seems like a good buy In the bundle considering I will get camera + grib(gimbal)+ case+ battery+ drone. would you recommend it still or there are other options(2018) ?for example : GoPro5 with gimbal is700 + DIJ mavick is 1000= $1700 expensive
GoPro devices are "Action" orientated cams and not audio-centric in nature. I use an iPod Touch and Rode Lav+ and then sync in post. Using a "shot list" with 5-10 minute videos works good.

$1000 seems high for GoPro + Karma Grip...maybe it depends on the region. But if you're a GoPro user the Grip is awesome.

Is the grip waterproof and perhaps drop proof? How durable is it?
Frida and Luna GoPro's official response is that it's not waterproof. However, I've used it in light rain and didn't have a problem.
I own a a DJI Osmo, but I know that the grip isn't too durable on the Karma. Perfectly fine if you're skiing and fall though,

That's a good question! Unfortunately I don't have a USB-C battery to test it with.
I need external mic option for the karma grip. software update maybe...

I use an iPod touch and Rode Lav+ mic and then sync in FCP post. No limitations on distance like Seinhauser wireless mics etc.
