Ale Mercado that’s what Duncan once said in MAnus jersey retirement.. qouting: Manu sees things nobody does and Manu sees things on the court ahead of anybody
ginobili is not physically as strong as other players in the NBA, but he is really smart at making the decisions on the court. i am not a fan of the Spurs, but Ginobili is definitely one of my fav players
Ginobili lose that ball because of a shitty pass from Mc Dyess and a good defense from the Nuggets; but then... he made these two plays. Instead of getting whiny, nervous or losing his mind, he calmly went to the bench. He knows better: his mind is strong, fearless. Ecuanimity is a winner mentality. Also, if you watch closer in that circus shot, he clearly got fouled by Afflalo, the guy touches his right arm.
that is because Manu never got to fully expose his talent on the court ...EVER..!! he never carried the Spurs on his back, could if he wanted to but the system is what got him the 3 championships, he is happy to come off the bench for the betterment of the team, while Kobe for a long time did it himself, he always had the ball in offense and the teams offense depended on him. Manu is a phenomenal athlete and a sacrificial player. he could have been as great as Kobe or Lebron as a team carrier
0:14 Don't you think that was clearly an offensive foul? He didn't even have the ball in his hands. Anyways, this was just as Duncan said, unbelievable. Very proud of a guy who is from my own country, playing in the NBA. Orgullo argentino, Manu.
like I said above, the Spurs don't rely on an individual player's talent to carry them through, they play a smart, efficient and calculated brand of basketball. Because of this Manu never got to show his full potential to the world, but he doesnt complain, he even agrees to come off the bench for the team when he is one of the Big 3. Kobe on the other hand was the key player in every game he ever played for LA, he had so many chances to show his potential while Manu never did. get my point jr.?
Vladi48mir what more if Ginobili palys on the other NBA team that may abuse his full potential for the benefit if the team not for the sake of Manu’s health because he is injury prone tyoe of player because of competitive spirit
Yes.....one of the best players of the world....and he (GINOBILI) has won almoust everything!.... 3 NBA titles with SPURS! Sub-Champion of the world with ARGENTINA in Indianapolis 2002! WON THE GOLD MEDAL WITH ARGENTINA IN ATENAS 2004. WON THE BRONCE MEDAL WITH ARGENTINA IN PEKING 2008..... 2 times He was the "MVP" in europe when he played in Kinder Bolonia, 2001 and in 2002! "MVP" of the olympics games in Atenas 2004!
please more ginobili. great defense, it was clearly a foul on carmelo. actually i think ginobili took a hard charge and did no flop. carmelo its pretty heavy
Damn 22-3 Start thats crazy good. And if manu didn't have A broken elbow in the playoffs that year I think they would have won another championship instead of the Mavs.
i honestly don't get what you're looking at, his feet weren't moving at all when the foul was drawn and he was clearly outside of the restricted area. just because it was on denvers home court doesn't mean that it wasn't a charge
He may not BE MJ. But he has attributes like MJ. Badass ball handling. Badass shooting. FUCKIN AWESOME passing. He's clutch. He's not MJ but he sure looks like one. But it's all good cause no one recognizes the Spurs for anything. All anyone care about outside of the Spurs is finesse. And that shit is fucking whack. Doesn't win games. Just looks nice.
no you were right he is, but he plays for the Spurs and the Spurs dont entirely depend on the talent of the players to carry them, they depend on their system of execution. If Manu had been on a mediocre team and took over as the star player he would be the Kobe Bryant of his time but only with better defense and all round game
It clearly was a charge the blocking is called if melo would be on his just jumping or in the air when manu come to the line and melo hadnt leaved his other foot for the last step yet. So clear charge no arquement needed.
if you count the 4.2 seconds left to finish the game, Manu state all that time into the Paint Zone. 3 seconds rule should not exist and this is a big Play to demonstrate that.
lol like I said before , he could if he wanted to, but you cant be a team carrier if you play for the Spurs. The Spurs always stick to plays and the whole team aids in its execution, no one man army style playing. Everybody in the Spurs team carries the team, even the bench players
dude that was a blocking foul. the whole of having a charge rule is so that players can't just barrel through a defensive players positions, not to allow the defense to run into front of a player milliseconds before he gets to the hoop. this is why there is a rule called blocking. blocking is obstructing a players lane by running in front of him, charges never used to be called like this and the game of basketball is almost ruined now. its almost impossible to drive to the basket now
I hate floppers. Still, he's got some balls, stepping in to get ran over by 250 lbs of freight train Carmelo. And hitting that GW layup was not easy. Ditto for Melo! I think it wasn't a clear off.foul and it could've gone either way. Too bad it went the Spurs way... This my have been a nail in the coffin for Melo in Denver, he is now Jersey Bound.
refs swallowed their whistle when JR smith fouled Ginobili from behind while he was in the process of receiving the ball on the inbound play. The ball got loose and because of that non-call, the Nuggets got the lead. It was only right for the refs to at least call that clear charge because the Denver lead should't have happened anyway.
its not that his feet were or werent moving. as im led to believe, as well as being a ref previously, you feet need to be set. and by set it means that your WHOLE foot is planted on the ground. only his toes were on the ground and his heels were off. oh and im not a denver fan :D so i dont really care if its their court.
r u serious? blocking fouls are called in every game still. if charges werent called like that youd have people taking off from outside the paint trying to dunk =="
actually by the time carmelo hits him, if you look closely both his feet are completely down. And im not a Spurs or Nuggets fan either so i also dont care
that is called a blocking foul. you cant just run in front of a player milliseconds before he gets to the hoop. this is why the nba is not actually basketball anymore, its something else, they call the charge way to much. you rarely see blocking fouls anymore
The NBA should establish the award: "Manu Ginobili to the smartest player"
I love that idea, but that title belongs to Larry Bird.
One of the greatest basketball players of all time.........severely underrated..
Manu´s brain is 2 seconds ahead of every player even teammates.
Ale Mercado that’s what Duncan once said in MAnus jersey retirement.. qouting: Manu sees things nobody does and Manu sees things on the court ahead of anybody
His processor is so fast.. surpassing Intel..
ginobili is not physically as strong as other players in the NBA, but he is really smart at making the decisions on the court. i am not a fan of the Spurs, but Ginobili is definitely one of my fav players
Amadeus Huang And he's a risk taker. He'll try some unimaginable things as well.
Only guy that has a NBA RING, EURO RING and OLYMPIC GOLD.
Congrats Manu Ginobli! FIRST TIME HALL OF FAMER!!!!! HATS OFF!!!
That goes to show that coming from popovich's mouth, "without manu, there will no 4 championships", so true.
Yep
I always said Ginobli was the X -factor ( the edge)...
That goes to show how pops believe so much in manu. See how popovich never made an attempt to scold ginobili after the play?
Ginobiliiiiiiiiiiiiiii. Just awesome. So many game winners, bat killer, and literally gave up a nut to keep winning. First ballot HOF.
One of the top 5 greatest international player ever ginobili hands down...
G = Genius + Guts + Great + Ginobili!!!
that is because Manu never got to fully expose his talent on the court ...EVER..!!
he never carried the Spurs on his back, could if he wanted to but the system is what got him the 3 championships, he is happy to come off the bench for the betterment of the team, while Kobe for a long time did it himself, he always had the ball in offense and the teams offense depended on him. Manu is a phenomenal athlete and a sacrificial player. he could have been as great as Kobe or Lebron as a team carrier
His talent is to be clever. And he exploded it a lot. He could have bigger salary but chose the glory.
And why did pops said, without manu, there will be no 4 championships. He didn't he carried them not even once on those championships? Lol
Remember a player who comes of the bench has a higher winning percentage than Duncan and Parker?
the most underrated nba player
My favorite player GINOBILI!!!!!!!!!!
manu ginobilli after scottie pippen is the owner of the glass I saw that performance in athens against servia and montenegro!! he is amazing
Ginobili, doing it all.
one cannot understand how creative Manu realy is untill u see a compilation of what he is doing on the court .Magician in other words
0:14 Don't you think that was clearly an offensive foul? He didn't even have the ball in his hands. Anyways, this was just as Duncan said, unbelievable. Very proud of a guy who is from my own country, playing in the NBA.
Orgullo argentino, Manu.
Manu is a a jack of all trades and masters of all

who said he was underrated? he is awesome and everybody knows that

Callate pelotudo
like I said above, the Spurs don't rely on an individual player's talent to carry them through, they play a smart, efficient and calculated brand of basketball. Kobe on the other hand was the key player in every game he ever played for LA, he had so many chances to show his potential while Manu never did. get my point jr.?
Vladi48mir never had given the chance because Pob knew that Ginobili is a risky type of player
Vladi48mir what more if Ginobili palys on the other NBA team that may abuse his full potential for the benefit if the team not for the sake of Manu’s health because he is injury prone tyoe of player because of competitive spirit
i remember this game... great game... made melo move to ny

2 times He was the "MVP" in europe when he played in Kinder Bolonia, 2001 and in 2002!

great defense, it was clearly a foul on carmelo. actually i think ginobili took a hard charge and did no flop. carmelo its pretty heavy
Both feet never came off the ground and he was well in front of the arch. That's a good call. Charge on melo.
Pop's reaction @ 2:11
Maybe Pop thought, "How the heck did Manu do that?"
grande ginobili,... Dios te bendiga.....
yes thats why he should start ALL games
You've been Ginobili'd !!! Get some
manu is too smart
Amazing!!!!
Larry Bird, Manu Ginobili is very similiar in many ways, no one compares with Bird or Ginobili
Increíble jugador!!!
HOF
Damn 22-3 Start thats crazy good. And if manu didn't have A broken elbow in the playoffs that year I think they would have won another championship instead of the Mavs.
after this, melo thought to himself "that's it, i'm running to new york"
Manu fuckin' Ginobiliii!!!!
ikr he's not even a starter and he was the best player of Argentina!
Pop trying to hold back a smile at the end.
i honestly don't get what you're looking at, his feet weren't moving at all when the foul was drawn and he was clearly outside of the restricted area. just because it was on denvers home court doesn't mean that it wasn't a charge
Clave....MVP
pops was bout to have a stress meltdown hahaha
Anybody think Melo was ever better than Manu, not even in his ball park.
Just looks nice.
in 2005 he was like a white jordan...
no you were right he is, but he plays for the Spurs and the Spurs dont entirely depend on the talent of the players to carry them, they depend on their system of execution. If Manu had been on a mediocre team and took over as the star player he would be the Kobe Bryant of his time but only with better defense and all round game
The sign of a great BB player, you make a couple of mistakes, you correct them.
all i can say is that LOL to the Comments hahaha,
manu ur the man!!!!! spurs forever and ever!!!!!
Extrairdinsrio ¡!!!!
the one dislike was a denver fan
All unbrain players hate and envy Manu...
Ale Mercado and also brainless basketball fans
also I love Ginobili but if he didn't foul Dirk on game 7 of the West Finals on 06, they could have one more.... and a three-peat. 05-06-07.
Both feet were set. That's a good call.
It clearly was a charge the blocking is called if melo would be on his just jumping or in the air when manu come to the line and melo hadnt leaved his other foot for the last step yet. So clear charge no arquement needed.
jaja kobe doesnt have all the titles ginobili has
Ha when i see jr smith and Carmelo together I think "Knicks"
if you count the 4.2 seconds left to finish the game, Manu state all that time into the Paint Zone.
Manu is smarter than Melo on court!!!
carmelo was like WTF!
Al Harrington held the shit out of McDyess as he was trying to slide over to help.
spurs is a great team its just that RJ is eating too much cap space. damn
wow
dude that was a blocking foul. the whole of having a charge rule is so that players can't just barrel through a defensive players positions, not to allow the defense to run into front of a player milliseconds before he gets to the hoop. this is why there is a rule called blocking. blocking is obstructing a players lane by running in front of him, charges never used to be called like this and the game of basketball is almost ruined now. its almost impossible to drive to the basket now

Anytime a non black player is good they are elevated to GREAT…
3:12 I really need to take a shit right now
you're right. his feet were clearly NOT set. heels off the floor and all.
refs swallowed their whistle when JR smith fouled Ginobili from behind while he was in the process of receiving the ball on the inbound play. The ball got loose and because of that non-call, the Nuggets got the lead. It was only right for the refs to at least call that clear charge because the Denver lead should't have happened anyway.
what makes you think that 'Old Kobe is still better than young Manu' o.O??
why the hell was duncan on the bench?
its not that his feet were or werent moving. as im led to believe, as well as being a ref previously, you feet need to be set. and by set it means that your WHOLE foot is planted on the ground. only his toes were on the ground and his heels were off.
oh and im not a denver fan :D so i dont really care if its their court.
I am a little bit of a new one
I thought this was sarcastic untill i saw the last :07
r u serious? blocking fouls are called in every game still. if charges werent called like that youd have people taking off from outside the paint trying to dunk =="
actually by the time carmelo hits him, if you look closely both his feet are completely down.

Hi
Doomsday Klasky Csupo A Gigas Productiongas hi
that is called a blocking foul. you cant just run in front of a player milliseconds before he gets to the hoop. this is why the nba is not actually basketball anymore, its something else, they call the charge way to much. you rarely see blocking fouls anymore
Check this kid Chris Rigesti, the next Manu in you tube
2 fouls on that shot
LOL me too!
not in 2012
grosso!!!!!!!!!!!!!
111-112? Manu ain't going out like that.
pffffffff, a Melo no le para de caber.
LOL. good last 7 seconds but he gave them 4 free points right before that.. If he didnt make those mistakes he wouldnt have to do that much work.
ok maybe not, but better than carmelo
@TheBeans765 if he wouldn;t of charged there'd be no call to complain about it the first place but like always spurs classy in victory
The Kobe Bryant of his time? They've played together for quite sometime now..and Old Kobe is still better than young Manu.
lol, don't complain about the offensive foul call 'cause Anthony travels as he catches the inbound pass anyways. Drags his pivot foot.
Man I miss George hill /:
