@@beckyboo1433Ms. Rule seemed like an amazing woman. I always hoped to meet her one day. I’ve read all her books and she was always extremely thorough and objective. Take “Green River, Running Red”, for example, which is about Gary Ridgeway, the “Green River Killer”. Ms. Rule delved deeply into the lives of his victims. She portrayed them as human beings instead of “just runaways, drug addicts, or prostitutes”. She was a lot more empathetic and compassionate than male authors who published their own version on the same topic. (In my humble opinion, Ms. Rule’s book is the best version.) Maybe her daughter,Leslie, who is also an author, will pen her mom’s biography. It would be really interesting to read about Ms. Rule’s incredible life. May she rest in eternal peace.

For a Narcisist as Diane 20m talk and all the data colected from court transcripts is not enough time given to her person. For a book to be produced about what she did - Diane would expect the author to be at her comand, lissening to her rubish for hours and hours. Ann was just sharp and knew amazingly well who to do this things. RIP

No. It’s not. They shouldn’t have had to be adopted and shouldn’t have lost a sister. They shouldn’t have to live with what their mother did. What would have been sweet is if they had a normal mother in which they would’ve had a chance for a normal life without a terrible childhood experience causing who knows how much mental problems for who knows how much time before moving on with their lives. I pray no child or children have to ever experience this kind of tragedy due to a mother’s own insanity ever again. I also pray that the seven year old girl Rest In Peace God bless her sweet soul.

Now, some people are nervous smilers, and I do think she is one (I am too). That being said, I absolutely believe she murdered her children. The times that seriously bothered me (her smiling) is when she reinacted the shooting, when she described her daughter reaching for her with blood coming out of her mouth (duper's delight, I think), and when she said that she wasn't lucky because she "couldn't tie her own damn shoes for two whole months".

    • @lynnkayee1015

As someone who has both lost a child and is a nervous smiler/laugher...what Diane does is different. When my daughter died I'm sure more than a few people thought it was strange how I reacted when speaking about her or her death. But Diane's eyes tell the truth, that woman's face lights up like a child on Christmas when she talks about it sometimes!
And the way she calls the kids lucky while saying she's unlucky by cause she couldn't tie her shoes for a few weeks. 👀
I was so distraught that even though I would smile or laugh at inappropriate times, I could NEVER think of saying something that cold. I remember doing things like choosing clothes and eating or drinking made me feel guilty because my daughter couldn't anymore. A grieving parent tends to feel unlucky because of what they CAN do, not the other way around. A grieving parent would be willing to be trade being tortured every single day if it meant that child could come back and live a normal life during that time.
It's horrible helpless feeling that I wouldn't wish on any loving parent.

I think her mother spoiled her rotten and when others didn’t or she had to give of herself, she just couldn’t deal with it. It was all about her growing up. Do not over compliment your kids at every little thing. An example is complimenting them for something that they should be doing anyway, like eating their dinner. I see so much coddling and complimenting kids today no wonder they grow up thinking everyone else is beneath them. Couple this with letting them get away with lies and you got a sociopath.

Their brains are wired differently. As a behavior therapist it’s important to raise children who are confident and believe in themselves! Of course maladaptive behaviors need punishment. Oprah used to have a good show in the late 80s and early 90s - had a knack for keeping her pulse on topics the people wanted to hear, leading to many others emulating what she did.
She would bring attention to cases, get exclusive interviews, and often go out of her way to hear the stories from the middle and lower classes of America when no one else would listen. I remember my uncle and his family going on her show in the early 90s because she had heard that their house burnt down and lost everything - the farm, the home, all belongings, etc. and she brought them on to hear their story and help them. She also did a brief interview with family members on my dad’s side of the family who helped give shelter to an abused boy that was friends with my cousin. I’ve tried finding the videos, but I do believe they’re just lost to time.
She was always doing something and trying to hear the other side, giving a voice to those that needed it and bringing on those who needed to be exposed.
Nowadays, though … she’s kinda’ secluded herself with all of her money and largely covering stories that aren’t in tune with average people anymore. Don’t get me wrong, she still tries to connect and share others’ stories, but the way she goes about it now is wildly different compared to when she was just a talk show host during television’s prime time era.
I still consider her the greatest solely for that time as no one has come close and been able to last as long as she, but man do I miss that era of Oprah.

I live in a state neighboring Oregon, and we have lonely old roads exactly like the one Diane was on. During the day there was probably traffic on the road but at night it would be so isolated that only someone that lived out in that area would have been on it. If I accidently over stayed on a visit to a friends house and had to drive that road to get back home, I would be scared, it would be dark out there at night with no street lights and only a few sparse farmhouses along the way and they almost always have long winding narrow little driveways. The sight of a bushy haired stranger leaping out of the darkness to get my attention would send me instantly into a panic and I would be going as fast as that kind of road would allow to get away from him. There would be no stopping, no chatting, and certainly no brave little old me getting out of the car to see what he wanted. I mean that isn't evidence, but I bet 99% of women and a good share of men hearing her story about that simply could not believe it. It just wasn't a realistic scenario.

Even back in the 80’s I too doubt a parent would do that with their three children in the car
But was that around the time people started to see hitchhiking wasn’t a good idea ?

The stranger was having trouble with his car, chose to steal one, shot 4 people and somehow got the malfunctioning car off Old Mohawk Road before the Police could get there. No one saw the stranger but Diane and no car repair shops or tow trucks saw the car or stranger. Diane makes up a ridiculous story.

Holy crow...Oprah's hair is IMMACULATE!!!!!!! So voluminous, so dang perfect! I was born in '94, but I am totally down for bringing back 80's hair. It was an art form.

Funnily enough, I just stumbled on her 37 years behind bars at a 2022 parole hearing. She was denied, again! She was diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder & and is still denying it to the bitter end! Bitter as is, she won't leave prison alive.

      Narcissists don’t admit they’re narcissists.
      They don’t acknowledge their wrong.
They always want to be praised, admired and be at the center wherever they are.
