- Hounds of Love (1985) track 17 (1997 re-edition bonus track)
Come close to me.
Come cross the bridge.
I need to know what you have to say to me.
(We've been waiting all night long.)
What have you got to say to me?
(We've been waiting all night long.)
Tell me all about it.
(We've been waiting.)
Tell me please.
(We've been waiting.)
Oh, I know.
I know it works for me.
As we cross the bridge--the burning bridge--
With flames behind us,
We front the line.
It's you and me, baby, against the world.
(We've been waiting.)
I've got to know what you have to say.
(We've been waiting.)
What have you got to say?
(We've been waiting.)
Ooh--oh--oh,
(We've been waiting.)
Tell me all about it,
(We've been...)
All night long,
(We've been...)
All night long.
(We've been...)
It works for me.
It's you and me, babe, against the world.
All night long
It works for me.
Let's cross the bridge.
Oh, I know,
(We've been waiting.)
I know, I know.
(We've been...)
It's you and me, babe.
When you stand next to me, babe, it's all right.
It's you and me, babe, against the world.
I think Hounds of Love would be my favorite Kate Bush album if The B-sides weren't B-sides
You know I kind of wish Houds of Love and 9th Wave were separate albums after all.
There is an edition of Hounds of Love that includes 6 bonus tracks: 2 x remixes, plus Be Kind to My Mistakes, Under the Ivy, Burning Bridge, and My Lagan Love. It's a perfect layer of icing on an already perfect cake.
Kate wrote this as the B-side for Cloudbusting, saying she wanted to give the song a different energy and for it to be more up-tempo. She said she didn't think the lyrics were particularly profound but it was a fun song to do. I happen to disagree, I think this song and the lyrics are fantastic. It paints for me a picture of two lovers facing their fears and knowing no matter what happens they can make it through together. I find it very profound.
Hounds of love additional tracks are absolutely stunning, every single one. Side 3 of the album if you will.
You mean side C right? haha it's almost the side A from the opposite universe
Dont know how someone can produce something so uplifting and just so downright excellent!!!!
I'm no religious person. But if I were a betting person, if there's a God or supreme who/whatever, they made Kate Bush to be some hyper-gifted creative force here. Just to show what human beings can do with potential. Much like Bowie and Prince did in their times.
I'm so happy to have discovered this song that I want to cry. Everyone should have Kate in their lives.
Fantastic track. I'll have to say, I'm usually skeptical about buying album re-releases with additional tracks, but Hounds of Love's add-ons are truly amazing.
Even her B-sides are A-listers! Amazing artist.
Buy it you'll find that it's Kate's Best album by far, And. Well worth it... Yours Cliff
@@cliffordmargrett8666 : i agree... but for The Ninth wave. ;)
you and me babe, against the WORLD!
t's Kate Bush. There are no "B" sides. Every song ever is a treasure.
My favourite B-Side of Kate's 👍
A fabulous b-side!
Kate Bush is everything!
I confess i bought a bootleg CD made of all her B-sides, some 30 years ago... :)
This is one of Kate's most infectious songs - you can't help but get into it. Everything from the glorious bass beat to the lyrics " . . . putting this behind us . . . it's you and me baby, against the WORLD!". Blasted shame most Americans only know her by her juggernaut R.U.T.H. Wished this could get radio airplay - it's just so much fun. I wish a lot of her dozens of songs would get airplay.
I concur.
Beautiful song from a beautiful soul
Ginny Lemon's favorite Kate Bush song!
Really?
Why bonus tracks are not on spotifyy?!😢
Brilliant! And danceable!
Majestic
This song fits in with everything off "Hounds of Love" even if it was left off the album. That "Yay Yay Yooooo" echoes "Running Up That Hill" and the other songs on Side 1 of "Hounds"
My JAM!!!!!!!
very interesting. that style of almost shrieking background singers was really well accomplished in her next two albums with the trio bulgarka
A little known hidden gem. Would be perfect as a closer to side 1 of Hounds of Love. I presume it was left off the album due to the limitations of LP running times back in the day. However, I'm just speculating on that, as I have no inside knowledge. I've only recently discovered the amazing Burning Bridge and have learned that is one of the bonus tracks on the 1997 pressing of the CD album.
Great song! Just heard this for the 1st time today. Was not on my copy from the 80's.
Inspirational!
So I bought this album and didn't get alm the song because this is not on there. Wow
It was only included on the 1997 re-release of the album not the original 80's release.
Titillating and powerful.
Yes, her most wonderfully wild and crazy fantastic vocal. Wowzer!
Da fuque ! Mais d'où ça sort ces derniers titres !!??!!
J'adore !!
I don't dance to the top ten, I dance to Kate Bush!!!!! Really badly though... ;)
Kenan Eren Cute.

Already told U..it's not the queen of f.... but the Queen of Hearts= U...now stop testing my patience please!
Why is this just a b-side? Such a great tune!
I love 1:20-1:22.

No other song to listen to as the bridge to Crimea burns
Better than some songs on Hounds of Love...
most*
Definitely prefer it to The Morning Fog.
I love Kate bush and I really want to like this song but I just don’t
HOW THE FUCK IS THIS A B-SIDE?!
Funny thing - a reviewer in the past had the same sentiment. The reviewer also remarked that her b-sides would be career starters for others. With Kate's music there is no such thing as a b-side - only what could fit on the record or album. We are quite blessed to be discovering these gems. This is one of Kate's best rock-n-roll songs, too. Got to find a way to get this on radio.
