Kate Bush Saves Lives
Tout à fait d'accord avec toi bro !! 👍
Legendary Genius!
The best artist woman ever 😊
I loved seeing Kate Bush on MTV as a child. She deserves all the awards and recognition. She is a once in a lifetime, ahead of her time talent.
It wasn't the glitter that did Sufjan in, it was the surprise David Gilmour.
I came here to make a Chris Fleming joke and you beat me to it!
*party debris
Kate Bush is the reason why this world is more rich.
The most talented female singer-songwriter ever.
She finally made it into the rock 'n roll hall of fame. Well deserved.
Stranger Things put her over. Long overdue.
@@ropi8739 About Time She Was Recognised!!. :)
Any "Hall of Fame" that needed a pop streaming series to push her into their limelight doesn't deserve Kate.
❤
@@stevedavis3989 This track was #1 on the U.S. alternative rock charts.
It gives me joy that a whole new generation of Kate fans is just discovering her marvels.
Has Kate Bush ever written a bad song??? Her work is nothing but masterpiece after masterpiece
Funny you should say that. I finally listened to her whole discography last year and realized with surprise that NO, she NEVER HAS :D I can't think of any other artist with such flawless record!
I agree!
a masterpiece !!
I can't recall her ever doing a bad song, a wonderful unique artist
That one with the washing machine gets fairly close though haha.
*Kate bush startled me when she threw the glitter*
BirDog *party debris
BirDog YES!!! I’m here because of that video!!! I’m such a huge Chris Fleming, Sufjan Stevens and Kate Bush fan haha
Not Arleigh party debris is so British sounding.
I bet she’s still finding glitter to this day!
Kate is not like any artist, Kate is art, life, and talent.
J'aurais pas dit mieux !! 👏
My favorite Kate Bush album - beautiful production, fantastic heartfelt lyrics, and lots of emotion.
kate bush startled me when she threw the party debris at me
coconut flake??
Why?
that was so mean
The gold glitter that she threw at you & me was a blessing for abundance & happiness. I get that these comments are from that Chris Fleming video, which was pretty funny.
It can be pretty dangerous but helpful in crafting. Are you into Jesus?
Something about her voice, regardless of the song, always brings me to the verge of tears when hearing it. She is one of the most necessary artists the world has ever produced and that is in no way hyperbole. She's a gem.
agreed. every time brings me tears. not sure what that is. Just genius I think
It's the vulnerability in her voice but also her strength to express it
She brings me to tears also, but not tears of sadness. It's hard to explain, but her work has so much beauty & light that it brings me to tears. It's like a religious experience.
same. Gabriel does it too but not like Kate.
She bring me into years.too.i guess is the mix of strenght emotions and vulnerability. Is beauty , is art is thruth
Oh Kate, what would we do without you?
Running Up that Hill: Poignant. Love and Anger: Transcendent.
To me this song isn't about romance. It's about those deep arterial wounds that you think will never, EVER heal. But then they do. It's about paradox and its resolution. It's an epic novel in 5 minutes. ALWAYS takes my breath away.
Being Heard Media very nice interpretation! I wish you love anf happinessn from the universe
Finishing up with a kickass David Gilmour guitar solo probably didn't hurt.
As someone who feels like they’ve gone through hell and back this song is like my jubilation that there is hope that I can go on and do things and build a house and really what would I do without myself I really don’t know. A very beautiful song indeed and I really do agree with you
@@reneelagrandeur7220 Somewhere I have the VHS of all the videos from this album and interview clips of her discussing the music. I recall her saying that she had the hardest time working on it. She said it was one of the first songs started and one of the last ones finished because she wasn't quite sure what it was about. Would that I could be that uncertain and still create a masterpiece like that. * bows to the talent *
She is probably one of the best artists of all time, immensely talented and creative as well she has never shied away from being herself. This and morning fog have always been favourites of mine with the dreaming being the album I love the most. Sure it dint do well but she was being herself and that all that matters. We both bow at her feet at her talented
Kate Bush has some moves!
@joebragg3114 More than a few moves. Studied dance and mime under Lindsay Kemp, who taught Bowie.
I love that David Gilmour is a fan of Kate too.
She is STUNNING here.
Jason Bradwell always is
Could someone please explain to me how a human can be so flippin BEAUTIFUL in every way???
It's a miracle
what would we do without you?
Beautiful song, beautiful lady.
London Borough of Bexley, please cast a statue of Kate in Welling. This is long overdue.
What a gem and I didn't even know about this one
Profound and timeless.
John Giblin on bass, Paddy Bush on valiha, Stuart Elliott on drums, and of course the two Pink Floyd guys...Richard Wright on keyboards and David Gilmour on guitar. What a cast!!!
i don't think it's richard wright on the keyboards...
Yes. That’s not Rick
@@arseneraoulbaggy 1000 percent it's Richard Wright
definitely not Rick on keyboards. He never actually performed with Kate.
What's the weird dulcimer sounding thing called?
What would we do without you?
KB .. Britain's national treasure in music
a singing and dancing goddess ❤
It's taking a while, but (by and by) KB is beginning to be recognized as Britain's foremost female pop singer-songwriter. She is, at last, finally taking her rightful place alongside Bowie and The Beatles as our holy trinity of GOAT rock gods.
A living, breathing legend.🌹
I remember how much this was on heavy rotation on MTV a long time ago. I appreciate it so much more now than I did then. It reminds me that I am not as young as I once was.
I was 19 then and had the album.
Never watched MTV. But I did play her first six albums to death, enough that I bought the CDs as well.
For me, this woman and her work are so transcendently beautiful, intense, and artistically nuanced that it is actually physically painful for me to watch her sometimes.
Precisely.
She has influenced so many. Just listened to a Tori Amos song and guess who she sounded like....
i don't know what The Cure for that would be... I'll get my coat
@@styxcreek I was wondering ....
I know what you mean.
Kate at the height of her powers, a bloody force of nature.
unmatched talented creative beautiful woman ever!
She's so petite, classy, and awesome. Before we had Tori Amos, we had Kate!
John's bassline in this was fantastic. Just drives so hard in the second half of the song!
and God created Kate Bush...
I think is the other way around.
Did he make a deal with her?
God IS everyone@@AMABELTVHD
And in the music world he couldent be bothert any more....Thats just fine by me..
And he was satisfied /and us....
For over 3 decades, every time I hear this song my emotions SOAR !
I think it’s her best
Love her dancing from about 3:40 on.
And Dave.
The Goddess of Music.
Lyrics:
It lay buried here, it lay deep inside me
It's so deep I don't think that I can speak about it
It could take me all of my life
But it would only take a moment to
Tell you what I'm feeling
But I don't know if I'm ready yet
You come walking into this room
Like you're walking into my arms
What would I do without you?
Take away the love and the anger
And a little piece of hope holding us together
Looking for a moment that'll never happen
Living in the gap between past and future
Take away the stone and the timber
And a little piece of rope won't hold it together
If you can't tell your sister
If you can't tell a priest
'Cause it's so deep you don't think that you can speak about it
To anyone
And you tell it to your heart?
Can you find it in your heart
To let go of these feelings
Like a bell to a Southerly wind?
We could be like two strings beating
Speaking in sympathy
What would we do without you?
Two strings speak in sympathy
(What would we do without you?)
Take away the love and the anger
And a little piece of hope holding us together
Looking for a moment that'll never happen
Living in the gap between past and future
Take away the stone and the timber
And a little piece of rope won't hold it together
We're building a house of the future together
(What would we do without you?)
Well, if it's so deep you don't think that you can speak about it
Just remember to reach out and touch the past and the future
Well, if it's so deep you don't think you can speak about it
Don't ever think that you can't change the past and the future
(What would we do without you?)
You might not, not think so now
But just you wait and see,
(Someone will come to help you.)
Thank you!
It could take me all my life, but it would only take a moment to tell you what I'm feeling
Wow 😮😭
There's a magical aura that surrounds Kate that anyone who watches her perform is drawn in by. Her voice and the music she brings seems to resonate within you. She is the most unique and talented artist of the last five decades. Her accomplishment 's are a testament to how loved she is, not just by the older generation, but by the younger generation too. Keep bringing light into our lives Kate. We love you.
This song gives me goosebumps every time. We used it for our 'walk out' music after our wedding ceremony :)
Hello friend, how are you doing today?
baller move
I've never had a UA-cam comment make me cry. I guess there's a first for everything.
EPIC
That’s really cool, actually.
Amazing Song and...Hey Hey Hey, look who's here, Mr David Gilmour himself!!!
Holy God! I’m 62 and just discovered her music. I knew about her because of her collaboration with Peter Gabriel on DONT GIVE UP. Obviously like many others. I also heard her on Stranger Things…. Which prompted me to explore her music. To call her a generational talent is an injustice to her artistry. She is a once in a WORLD talent. I feel as if I’ve wasted so much time until this moment discovering her gift to the world. Her songs bring me into such an emotive place I simply cry. Such incredible artistry and beauty.
So happy you found her. A couple years older and recently rediscovered her (from 1985). I believe I have everything she ever created - days go by so much better with her music.
I don't know if you encountered "Breathing" yet. It's not a fun song, to put it mildly, but I recommend it. It's from the perspective of a fetus and written in the 80ties, but in many ways about current days.
i love how this video uses the whirling dervishes and ballerinas as visual representations of the connection between dance and spirituality. Kate acts as the conduit, the facilitator, the "voice" that connects and allows these physical forms to achieve a higher state of spirituality
You mean Mr Bungholio and his Twirling Fartknockers??
yes noted this theme running thro more then few tracks unfortunately madonna had a gorgiius video forget name but wit bunch off japanese actin up a field n whirling dervishes..
the dervish part which was one of the better parts in the hold thing was edited out.
not sure the reasoning but do recall nordstrom playing stings desert rose with again the best part in arabic squeezed out oh so gently so not to offend some who are above it...
Whenever I see Kate Bush singing and dancing, I think THIS is a woman, fully embodied. And wish I could be her.
She is a force of nature. Completely uninhibited. Amazing :)
What would we do without Kate ?
While listening to many of Kate's songs - tears form and slowly run down my cheeks. Just the sheer beauty of her music. Does this happen to Anyone else?
She is a gift from God to the world
Mr Mensa Yes definitely have had these same experiences while listening to her music. So otherworldly and transcendent.
@@philanthonytx - Thank you for your reply. I didn't think that I was the only one. Blessings to you and yours, Ian White
After Kate? NOTHING😊
Little light... Shining...
Yes, the first time I heard this woman's work I just finished the song and burst into tears. It's deep.
I must say that I've searched for this song since I was a teenager (20 years), now.
I am living in the gap between past and future.
This song is lightning in a bottle.
I just wish it was twice as long. I can't get enough! lol.
Kate Bush, David Gilmour, swirling dervishes, & ballerinas. All performing a rare gem of a song. Oh I forgot about the sparkles!
j adore kate et ne pas oublie la guitare de gilmour merci
So raw, honest, human.
Queen Kate Bush. I just love how you can see her spiritual journey throughout her albums. Previous albums-particularly The Dreaming and Hounds of Love-dealt with doubt, insecurities, facing and working through inner demons. This album The Sensual World is her having healed, gone through her spiritual journey and reached the other side into confidence, self love and compassion and is now inviting you to join her in these revelations. Urging you to keep going, to know that this world is better for having you in it. You will be able to heal and live a life full of joy and magic and opportunity. This song in particular I think speaks to that. Her bathed in sparkly gold throughout and then playfully flinging a handful at you at the very end with a joyful "Yeah!" Yeah, you've got this! I watch this every time I need a pick-me-up and it never fails to put a big smile on my face and tears in my eyes. She puts so much love and compassion and magic into each and every one of her songs and I'm very happy that so many of the younger generations and even older generations who hadn't previously known her are becoming aware of her creative genius. She deserves that. More of the world needs to be exposed to the power of her music. Thank you Kate Bush. The world is a better place having you in it.
One of her very best. She really is enjoying dancing at the end...look for that smile.
Ballerinas, Whirling Dervishes, and David Gilmore.
Who could ask for more...I love Kate...
What a great love song!
Well said!
The Canna Cabana In my opinion this video and the music video for 'The Sensual World' are one of the best music videos Kate Bush has EVER made. She is the most consummate performer and artist. There is more than 100% passion in every music video she has made in her career. What is even more incredible, is that the stylistic expressions from most of the music videos she has made in her career have not come from music industry stylists, but from Kate herself.
And her big brother, Paddy, a.k.a., the dude with the green shirt and the 'stache.
Gilmour.
I'm here because of Chris Flemming and feel no disappointment
Snowspring9
Ditto! Long live Chris Fleming! 😃
This is Kate's only #1 song on the US Billboard Modern Rock Chart. It was #1 in 1989 for 3 weeks. 'Running Up That Hill' is her 5th Top 10 entry in the chart peaking at #2 on August 20, 2022.
Very true. The Modern Rock chart didn't begin until late in 1988. Had it started a decade earlier I suspect she would have had several additional songs chart.
Supreme talent. What's more to say, except shine on Kate. ❤
Kate is without a doubt my favorite person in music. A truly enchanting artist.
“Enchanting” is the perfect way to describe her work 👏👍
One of the most joyous things to watch Kate dancing. Always did and always will bring a smile to my face.
She looks really happy in this video.
Kate paints pictures with music and lyrics - true artist.
I've been listening to this track for 35 years.. and it still makes me cry everytime.
Very, very glorious Kate Bush.❤❤❤
The mighty John Giblin on bass, just amazing
She's got frigging David Gilmore playing guitar. Super under rated song!
It was David Gilmour that got her into the studio and signed with EMI when she was still a teen.
@patriciahampel4665 He also plays on "Rocket's Tail" and does backing vocals on "Pull Out The Pin".
this song is so beautiful. such triumphant melodies.
She's sublime
Don't you just love that final yeah 😍
im obsessed with everything she has ever put out
sage rages I've even got her work on vinyl with Roy Harper, Big Country, Go West, Midge Ure, Prince and of course Peter Gabriel.
Shes a flecking genius!!
She has so much presence for 5'3".
She is just so beautiful!
Ahhh this is one my favorite songs! I found her on accident, I was gonna type Kate bishop, typed Kate on UA-cam, accidentally click Kate bush, seem interested, and I click running up the hill. This is before I watched stranger things 4 too.
It was always you Kate.
this amazing song is accompanied by an equally great video with all the imagery it presents.
this song could have two meanings: it can be a love song but it can also be about trauma and mental health. i personally relate it to both.
kate's songs touch my heart and my soul in a special way.
Dear Kate, what would WE do without YOU? Love Eternal.
Dave Gilmour getting a walk on cameo tells you all you need to know about the respect with which she is regarded.
Fab video and song of course.
They go back a long way. Dave Gilmour discovered Kate back in the 1970s.
@Cat Fart maybe the best way to look at is Gilmour was responsible for her getting noticed, at that time it was hard for women to get a break in the record industry. Without Gilmour who knows if she would have ever made an actual album.
It's a shame that it has taken me 33 years to discover this brilliant, immensely talented woman
Dont like corporations ? here is someone not owned by one , love you kate
I'm not in total misery, when I can hear and see beauty such as this.
Her songs brought my Wife and I together....That's all
How could someone so young, be such a mature songwriter and performer? Is boggles the mind.
She started very young
She's 32yo here and wrote a song that made it to album at 12yo.
@@gbulmer Just about all of the songs (except for 4) off her first two albums were written before she was 15.
She scared Sufjan Stevens when she threw the party debris
Aw, he's under the bed.
Addie Humphries under the bed...with wings!
@@addiehumphries6552 …in a tent.
what?!
When this video came out my college roommate actually kinda jumped when Kate threw the glitter. Later he'd always go, "I hate that part!" I guess Sufjan and my old roomie are spirit brothers.
One of the greatest songs ever.....totally exhilarating!
Kate Bush is as real as it gets. Then, now, forever.
THE most inspirational musician of my 65 years ...
she can do no wrong ... we all just have to follow where she leads ... it’s an amazing journey for our senses
A true genius xxxxx
Hello friend, how are you doing today?
Watching Kate is pure bliss ❤️ she is max cute ❤️
It's hard to have a best bush song, as every one is brilliant in its own way..but this one really resonates with me. I'm bowing to the southerly wind Kate.....
When the ballet dancers light up behind her as the guitar comes in, amazing. Love to all KB fans x
Love to you 😉
Genius musician.
I have had a crush on this woman since I was 12 now 52. She is still one of the greatest.
Yes, it's great that Dave Gilmour is here, but that bass kicking in at 2:29 - SUBLIME!
@charikloangel33 John Giblin (RIP) on bass.
Beautiful princess Kate 💗💗💗
All these men must have found it hard to be in love with Kate Bush and work with her at the same time!
She managed to scare both Sufjan Stevens AND Beavis And Butthead with this video. What a legend!
Haven’t one song made me want to cry so hard lately
Kate j'avais 15 ans en 1985 et suis tombé amoureux dès que je t'ai vu !!!!!!!!! Et je t'aime toujours chère Kate ... Greetings from Belgium .
Kate Bush Love and Anger is one of my unheard and personal favorite song
This is the song that turned me on to Kate Bush. I bought the album shortly after seeing this video and the one for The Sensual World. You could take my copies of this album away, but I will never be without this music. It is a part of me now. And I am all the better for it's addition.
I love you Kate and all of your music and visual work.
Unbelievably I have loved & adored her since the 70s but this is the first time I've seen this video !
Sensual World is my favourite album of hers.
❤ Beautiful
When Kate dances the whole world smiles.
imagine a duet..Kate Bush and Annie Lennox...pure heaven
Have you ever heard this?: ua-cam.com/video/jP8Nv8XWMgU/v-deo.html.
I think it's the closest thing to a duet of Kate and Annie that I've heard.
