Thank you. You have encourage me so much. Your tutorials have been amazing. You have dispel some of the myths that kept me scared and I am now getting the ingredients to start a cold press. Thank so very much.
Thank you for your beautiful recipe. I made the soap and some of the soap turned out lovely but unfortunately some didn't. I fear I may have made a mistake with the lye concentration. But I will do the PH testing to check and re-batch if needed. Anyway, I was very happy with the 'diagonal' pour. I would like to try it again but will experiment with a different scent next time as the Rose Geranium is absolutely divine but super expensive for a mistake. I'll give it another go though. Thanks again.
I absolutely love the soaps you have created and I have very much enjoyed spending my time watching all your videos. I hope you have an amazing Easter and stay safe.
Thankyou for mentioning in the description about Rosewood trees facing extinction, I didn't know this but I am not too surprised either as it was heavily logged in northern n.s.w ( where I am from) for timber in the past to the point of losing most of it there in the rainforest. I don't want to contribute to such precious plants becoming extinct forever.. everywhere.. so this bottle I have will be my first & my last. It's very sad such plants can't be better protected in general. I have a keen nostalgia for the scent of the fresh sawdust due to it was discovered in the very old floorboards of the house I grew up in & my parents were shocked and delighted (in a way) because our house had been originally a banana shed haha & wasn't much to look at when they bought it but under the grey weathered boards was the most stunning red wood and when they sanded it the house smelled so beautiful. The real wood has such a soft delicate yet robust scent, never smelled anything like it. The essential oil smells different to the fresh wood anyway so my little bottle (although nice) isn't quite the same. Anyway if you or anyone has read this far well done and my apologies haha, just had to tell the story and thanks so much for another gorgeous soap to watch you create. I'll have to try this diagonal pour technique one day. And I just love the soft colours you achieved using the clays xx Thanks Elly

Your step by step videos are the best Elly. I really feel invited into your soap making tutorials. This soap looks wonderful,.... and of course I am going to have to make it too. Just have to 'get me' some rose geranium EO and pink clay; which I never thought to include in my order that arrived today! 💕
Such a fan, Elly! Thank you for another great tutorial video and recipe. I've finally been able to use my first soaps from a double-batch I did at the new year. have been so proud that I'm mailing off extra and giving bars to all of my neighbors. I need to work on my soaping temperature, though, since it was winter and my windows were open for fear of lye fumes. I think it made the house temperature too low for mixing everything and caused some white spots in the finished product. I tested them with ph strips before using/gifting and they were just cosmetic. I used the half ice/half water trick and the fumes weren't nearly as bad as I had anticipated. And if, by chance, you are looking for an idea for a new video, it would be very helpful for beginner soapers to have a lesson on the merits/drawbacks of using the different common oils in recipes (ex. olive v. cocoa butter v. coconut). Thank you so much Amber, I'm so happy you're enjoying your soap making! I've got a few videos coming up soon that I think will help you a lot. I'm going to be explaining temperatures for soap making, superfat, and also will get to one about chosing oils as well. In the mean time, this chart might be helpful to you www.lovinsoap.com/oils-chart/
I love how your soap came out and the bit of wavy line in between softens it. My question is why can't you make up the the whole batch as thin trace then divide between two jugs? Then you could add the clay and EO when ready to each of the jugs right? I learn so much from your clear tutorials!
Hi Mary, thank you. Yes, you could do it that way too but the soap will thicken at the same time then. It's easier to pour each batch separately, give it time to firm up, then mix the second batch. It's just my preference though, there are many ways to do these things and it depends on how smooth you want the top of the soap (ie. hard to pour thick soap smoothly).
I was wondering instead of using rose geranium and rosewood essential oils, could you use just normal rose essential oil with the same amount as said in the recipe? I do not know if it would affect the batch of soap and its quality.
just placed my first order for the oils and essential oils from a local supplier (fingers crossed) they'll all turn out alright! xoxo Looking forward to try out this recipe 🌈💜

Not sure where I went wrong , the soap is soft and sticks to the cutter, perhaps not enough lye? Is there a way to rebatch and add more lye. Loving your tutorials and website so easy to follow. Thank you.
Thank you mam it was awesome I really wanted to use clay but I don't know how much should I use when should add . this video is really help full. I generally have a little doubt how much amount of clay should be added according to the batch size.
Hi elly quick question:my digital scale comes with only one decimal point so for instance when I run my recipe in soap calc I need 17.64 oz of coconut oil,my digital scale will only show one decimal point, what do I do,should just round it off.im new at soaping
I'm not quite sure as my brain does not think in ounces I'm afraid, but you may need a more precise scale. If that is all you can use, just round down the sodium hydroxide and round up the oils - to be safe.

This is my favorite batch recipe, well except Cocoa butter! I do like hemp oil (great benefits) in my soap however, it makes my soap green and it's quick to go rancid! So I don't put it in my recipe! So I will stick to this recipe. I am an Esthetician and I am very aware of which oils I use!
Thank you elly I want to ask you : If mixing mixing the clay before the sodium hydroxide phase don't change the colors ? That is, if the colors dose not chang ? תודה 🐘
I love this beautiful soap. Rose Geranium is one of my very favorite essential oils. Since I’m not using the Rosewood can u suggest an other option you think would marry well with the Rose Geranium Elly? Thank you again for brightening my day as housebound during Covid is ugly. Now I have something great to look forward to doing. Take care Elly
Hi Elly I made this today so excited to cut it tomorrow morning. The essential oils smell really strong .. I’ve put it in a room in a draw with the outside slide door open was abit worried about my son breathing it in. Do we need to put that much essential oil. I went though both my bottles of rosewood and geranium! . I think 3 percent would have been 30? Would it still smell nice if you only used the half batch amount for the whole lot? Also thinking it’s going to be quite expensive too although I don’t want to use fragrance Thanks for recipe was very fun to make
Hi Anastasia, you can use a lot less, but it does fade in time. I store my soap in my laundry for the first couple of weeks because the scent is too strong for me. Try using less, but be prepared for the scent to be faint once the soap is cured.

Wonderful, Elly wow, next week is my holiday and l will do soap🤩. I hit two hundred like, that's a good sign, I want to buy euromillion🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
Beautiful soap.
THank you Marletta :)
Wow! I wanna try this😍😍
Which type of loaf pan is best to purchase. Wood or all silicone
It depends. Silicone is easy to use, but I already have timber moulds so I use them with non-stick baking paper liner.
Beautiful ❤
Thank you
You're welcome Sandra :)
Wow super post for dry skin soap

Thank you elly
I want to ask you :
If mixing mixing the clay before the sodium hydroxide phase don't change the colors ?
That is, if the colors dose not chang ?
תודה 🐘
The colour will be the same if you mix the clay in before or after the lye solution. Clay does not react with the lye.
Thank you, I think lavender goes nicely with RG, but there would be plenty of options depending on your favourite EO's :)
Is it ok if I use filtered drinking water for this soap recipe
Yes you can
Beautiful, thank you for sharing.
You're welcome Nilza, thank you :)
Love that one just beautiful
Hi Elly I made this today so excited to cut it tomorrow morning. The essential oils smell really strong .. I’ve put it in a room in a draw with the outside slide door open was abit worried about my son breathing it in. Do we need to put that much essential oil. I went though both my bottles of rosewood and geranium! . I think 3 percent would have been 30? Would it still smell nice if you only used the half batch amount for the whole lot? Also thinking it’s going to be quite expensive too although I don’t want to use fragrance
Thanks for recipe was very fun to make
Hi Anastasia, you can use a lot less, but it does fade in time. I store my soap in my laundry for the first couple of weeks because the scent is too strong for me. Try using less, but be prepared for the scent to be faint once the soap is cured.
Hello Elly…Is it wise to wrap the soap bar with cellophane or plastic wrap for retail aesthetics , thanks.
That's up to you, and your reasons for wrapping them.
Hi good day for u ms..that soap ones ready to do after can use directly...
Hi, the soap needs to cure and dry for six weeks before it is used :)
If i dont have cocoa butter on hand , which oil can i use to replace it🥰 thanks for answering me
You could use shea butter if you have that :)
