I was meant to return a little bit earlier, but I've had three projects I've started but then had to be put on hold because of mistakes/impossibility of sourcing particular parts! :(
What a fun little project, I like it. I really want to get into some more power carving once I get through my list of more practical projects that need doing. (So about 2028...)
Great idea Paul! Good on ya! That Kutzall 1” Sphere, will that fit in a standard Dremel? I searched online, and could not find a 1/8 shank 1” sphere. I reckon that would be an awesome bit for carving out spoons with!
I'd be pretty surprised if there are any 1/8" shank bits that have a wider diameter than 1/2". It'd, unfortunately, be too easy to apply too much pressure that ends up bending the shank - the kutzall bit is surprisingly heavy. At 16-22k rpm, you don't want a bent cutter!
Interesting box and I like the juxtaposition!
That is an amazing result mate. You have me thinking about my next box.👍
Stay safe.👋
Well that was definitely something different. 👌🏾
Looks wild, mate, great job. 👍🏾
Absolutely beautiful 😊
Fantastic thank you very inspiring
Awesome work Paul! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Thanks Fred 👍
Beautiful! You make it look easy.
Thanks! This type of carving is mostly just patients and sanding, not too tricky at all :D
Looks great, nice vid 👍
And he's back!

I like the Pine ply box better than the Birch. The Birch seemed too busy with the extra layers. Luckily Pine ply is a tad cheaper than Birch 😂
You're not kidding on the pricing - the birch was just some scrap left over from somebody elses project, I can't afford that crap!
Well done

Practical projects are just another term for "not enough fun" ;)

@@TheWoodKnight, true that. On that note, I have not seen a 1/2" sphere on a 1/8" shank either... Ah well.
Make it round and then you've got something ;)
I still haven't graduated from The School Of 90 Degrees, circles still scare me!
No no no... I can't watch it without beard
