I think it was very well executed. At the same time, I lean against the idea of telling people how to make content. The part of UA-cam I love is the huge variety of personality and style I encounter. Do you man, your work stands on its own!
On the contrary I love non-narrated videos where we are left to watch in awe, and in peace. e.g. old Diresta... I know I´m in the minority but then so´s my IQ 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Все на высшем уровне! Ты настоящий профессионал своего дела! Хороший качественный инструмент и умение с ним работать а главное умение рассказать другим что и как делать , умение нести и передавать знания это очень здорово , ты очень большой молодец
Narration spot on, not too much talking. Voting with the guy who mentioned the legs snapping, tho. This doesn’t seem like a seat made for ‘fluffy’ people, or the careless. Really pretty, and a lot of well done work!
I know UA-cam is very competitive. Its not easy to come up with new styles and approaches. I am seriously impressed with your development of this patterned plywood style. Great execution and imagination. Thank you for your hard work. 🔥
Actually there is a youtube video of just that. The leg was part of the plywood challenge put on by the UA-cam guys from Modern Builds and Foureyes and Homemade Modern
I began my apprenticeship into carpentry when I was 16yrs old and am now 47yrs old. I'm always learning new and exciting ideas from beginners to masters, and without me having to say I'm certain you know where you fall. Thanks for these patterned plywood ideas, I'm certain I'll be using them for many years to come.
Your plywood pattern artwork belongs in a museum. Would you please consider making an electric bill video covering the cost of all of the corded power tools?? 👍👍👍
The narration was great! Hate videos where the person just rambles on but when it is just music kind of leaves you wanting more. Nice to have your cake and eat it too!
I really liked the narration. Some folks narrate as they go, during the build, and that can get noisy. Plus adding narration after the build allows you to consider the more important details that are valuable to a viewer. Great jigs and a really nice, elegant, simple stool.
Great work. I love the arbor tech attachments. Narration went well with the work. I like that style vs seeing no content while someone talks into the camera. Great work brotha!
Very very cool. This was nothing like I have seen before. I personally appreciate yr hard work and detailing on this project. This is why I believe in buying custom made. I wish u lot more success. Hats off to u and thank you for this video.
First video of yours I've watched - I prefer narration, even if it is brief because, if done well (yours was done well...), it answers many of the questions a viewer may have while watching. So... YES, keep on narrating. Oh, and NICE WORK!
Makes me want to take up wood working. Narration is helpful. I've seen many craftsmen create beautiful pieces from beautiful wood. You take plywood and turn it into a true masterpiece. You're like the Frank Lloyd Wright of wood craftsmen.
I am a retired cabinet maker and I really enjoyed this it was well made and thought provoking. At the risk of sounding patronising may I add well done.
That's an amazing piece! Bravo! The narration helped facilitate a better understanding of your process. Thanks for sharing! You must live a good piece away from anyone, I would love to be able to work late into the night.. and not worry about disturbing the peace. 👍✌ Take care.
Yes! Appreciate the narration, as g1mpster noted I don't like when UA-camrs just play music but then I think English must not be their first language. Nice project!
I really appreciated your narration. Really, I love music but that's not what brought me to your video. Now, I know music can be relaxing, but if you could just lower its volume a little bit. You make wonderful furniture and it's soooo nice to have you explain the whys and hows, and your extra tips like the one on the dowels. THANKS A LOT!!!
Sometimes narration stops the flow of the story, but in this case it only makes it better. And it is very helpful, you give out many tips as you go. Great job, both on the stool and on the video!
Excellent video! Loved the narration and when you keep your mistakes and then explain how you fix it is a sign of a good teacher. This stool is beautiful and an art piece as well as practical. I've seen patterned wood layouts before but not with plywood. Very cool. I'm not usually one for music in a build video, but this was very nice, sort of the '40s, smoky lounge-like music. I wanted to wear all black with a black bursae hat with a long cigarette holder while watching, lol.
At the age of nearly sixty three, my favorite pastime is learning from younger people. I was a cabinet maker and antique furniture restorer for the better part of my life (the other half was musician) in Canada, England, and thirty years in Paris, France. I congratulate you on this very original project- in fact I would be tempted to purchase it from you, because I have been looking for a high stool to play my enormous 45lb concert accordion on!! (except I need a foot rest, haha). I was really impressed by your tapered leg turning technique on the table saw; it was amazing there wasn't more tear out. Very, very fine project young man. Congratulations. I'll be back! Greetings from the West of France (Brittany). Ralph
I have this a thumbs up because I like the fundamentals of the design. Personally I am not a fan of using ply in this way, cutters don't like ply. I would've also preferred the seat to be thinner. Good job though, keep it up
The narration is great. It's measured, not rushed or interrupted by events. The quality is higher. Contrast with the statement while seated. Slightly distant, a little more hollow and echo. Studio overdub is better, and you are good at it.
That thing turned out sick, Michael! I think one of my favorite details is where you make the bottom of the plywood kind of rounded and come out and kiss each leg. It is a subtle detail, but one that you got totally right. Great job!
Narration was great and you showed so many learning principles that are helpful to us newbies in the art of woodworking. I am definitely going to make some of these.
Great job narrating the process. You added just enough details for us to follow along. And you didn't sidestep how you solved the problem of the little void in the one leg. Wood is wood right? Stuff happens, that why we like it so much! Nice looking stool. Any movement in it? Maybe some stretchers in the next one? ✌️
New Sub here.. Keep up the narration... you have a nice way of explaining things.. Your a hell of a craftsman , you made that stool look easier than it really is, beautiful stool. Keep the videos coming, thanks.... just going back through your older ones I've missed.
The narration was much appreciated. I hate when people just play music and don’t explain any of what they’re doing. Keep it up! 👍
Yes..well done

This is the perfect format, the narration mixed with the great shots and the soothing music makes it so enjoyable to watch
shivering black bell thumbs up! 3/6/23 enjoying watching a few of these older videos.
The table saw lathe was one of the wildest yet genius cases of improvisation I've seen lol. Love it!
Narration spot on, not too much talking. Voting with the guy who mentioned the legs snapping, tho. This doesn’t seem like a seat made for ‘fluffy’ people, or the careless. Really pretty, and a lot of well done work!
Narration was great, allowed us to follow along while keeping the flow going.
I love how your 300TD is always so nicely placed in most of your videos. Some extra eye candy!
Narration was perfect. Not too much babbling, just the techniques. 👌👍
I will say that the fact that you are narrating your videos is the reason I am subscribing to your channel.
I know UA-cam is very competitive. Its not easy to come up with new styles and approaches. I am seriously impressed with your development of this patterned plywood style. Great execution and imagination. Thank you for your hard work. 🔥
Thank you! Yeah, I’ve been really happy with the patterned ply, and I love working with it.
Actually there is a youtube video of just that. The leg was part of the plywood challenge put on by the UA-cam guys from Modern Builds and Foureyes and Homemade Modern
LOVE that chair!
I’m a guitar player and that would be perfect for having nothing to bang into when seated with instrument!
Narration was great!!

Patterned ply and power carving? What a cool look! Nicely done Michael
Thanks Johnny! Happy New Year!
@@MichaelAlm Happy New Year buddy!!
This is the fist video i see from your channel. But I liked how you narrated :)
Omg I’ve only just discovered your channel. What you do is insane !!!!
Yes, the narration was strong. The build was strong. Very nice video all around, thanks.
Your plywood pattern artwork belongs in a museum. Would you please consider making an electric bill video covering the cost of all of the corded power tools?? 👍👍👍
Good job.
The narration was great! Hate videos where the person just rambles on but when it is just music kind of leaves you wanting more. Nice to have your cake and eat it too!
I prefer the narrated videos.
The stool is beautiful. Thanks for sharing it.
WHO IN THE HELL DISLIKES THIS GUY???? SERIOUSLY?? Man you are a master ! Congratulations. Greetings from Mexico ! 🇲🇽
Nothing wrong with any aspect of this video, the project was great, the process was good, the narration was good, keep it up.
You are a true teacher. You share your knowledge so skillfully.
Loved the narration. Trying to learn and observation only takes you so far.
Cutting that round stool leg on the table saw was cool! Nice work!
Keep up the narration. Makes it so much easier to know exactly what you are doing.
I really liked the narration. Some folks narrate as they go, during the build, and that can get noisy. Plus adding narration after the build allows you to consider the more important details that are valuable to a viewer. Great jigs and a really nice, elegant, simple stool.
Thanks for the feedback! Glad to hear it's beneficial!
Commentary is great. Great vid

coming back to this video now that I've bought an Arbortech carving unit. The table saw lathe and the other jigs are excellent. Thanks again.
First video of yours I've watched - I prefer narration, even if it is brief because, if done well (yours was done well...), it answers many of the questions a viewer may have while watching. So... YES, keep on narrating.
Oh, and NICE WORK!
That table saw lathe jig is absolutely brilliant
I dig the narration. You have a nice welcoming voice. New to your channel. Always fun to find another Puget sound maker.
Very nice work. I appreciate the narration and you have a nice voice. Thanks for sharing.

Elated that I just discovered your channel! (No other word for it). The narration is great. Great project!
Love the narration, very clear and so much better than annoying loud music
Wow . Great technique, looks unbelievable!
Appreciate your narration!
Simply wow!!! So beautiful and elegant 👍

Thanks! 😁
Narration was fine. Well done. I enjoy your work.
Totally bad ass. Narration is great, very helpful.
I vote no for the narration but I'm glad I was wrong. It was perfect for this video. Great job on the stool. I'm still in awe of your skills. Bravo!

Yes narration. I learn the most from the mistakes corrected and explained. Make, fail, learn, perfect. Thanks!
Great job Mr. Alm. Please stay with the narration.
Cool design... and the narration was great.
Great looking stool! Love the pattern!

I enjoyed your video its a valuable handmade wood work I congratulate & appreciate your work best wishes.

You're like a genius of plywood... I really enjoy and learn a lot watching your videos! Cheers from Brazil.
Sweet Mercedes. I had a 1985 Mercedes 300TD Wagon about 8 or so years ago. Got compliments all the time in that thing.
Nice job. And you own the best car ever manufactured!
Yes. I genuinely appriciate your narration.
Really awesome piece of work. Great narration!
That lathe jig blew my mind 🤯

Excellent work, narration is very nice too
Great stool, cool Cameo of your W123 wagon.
I seriously would have moved on to something else had you not talked us through this beautiful process.
I agree, this is the perfect format. Beautiful work and narration. Love that old benz
Very nice! Yes the narration is good. Adds to the video.

Tremendous. Marvellous finish
