Holy shit HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT!!! This song has been stuck in my head for half a decade now and I finally found it!!!!
I have to agree...the video is a masterpiece, a triumph, but the song leaves something to be desired...
for those of you who are interested the "Lord of the Flies" is referring the the pagan deity Ba'al (Christians know him as Beelzebub) it is speculated that his original name was "Beelzeboul" meaning "Lord of the High Place" and was later changed by Christians to "Beelzebub" meaning "Lord of the Flies" in order to mock the pagan deity :)
I like this song very much, Jen's Voice is so beautiful and of course Victor's music, he's one of my favourite guitarists and one of the best in the world. It's very hard to define Rage's style, especially now, when Viktor adds a lot of classical inspirations to their music, but they were always crossing over borders of any style
Great song, great video, great lyrics. It actually made me tremble.
I love how the video shows details of the story, and how the lyrics captured the emotions of it.
I've been fond of the novel since the moment I read it, and it's great to see how one of my favourite bands does such a great job with a song about said novel.
Thi song is a masterpiece of power, epicity and melodic traits...I've been listening Rage in the last 20 years and thi song is the fruit of teir new maturity...AWESOME!!
I usually only like Metal from Finland, Sweden and Norway, but this German band is really good!

Just to clear up for anyone who's listening to this song, it's most likely that this song is based on the book. It speaks about the island- 'This island here in space'. Plus the whole video's very tribal, it's basically like a scene from a kick ass version of the movie. Just to clear up

If anyone read the book and is questioning this song relationship to the book Lord Of the Flies, the connection is that Lord of the Flies is Beelzebub in Greek, or latin i think. It means the devil himself, in which they refer many times to in this song.

The more I listen to it, the more it really connects with the moral of the book. To me at least. I guess the Lord of the Flies is suppossed to symbolize the savagery and evil in human's hearts. So they are all ruled by fear. I love it.

@Massacrus It doesn't have to be about the book, Lord of the flies is a common name for the devil, in Hebrew it's Beelzebub, so this apocalyptic theme fits quite nice.

While I don't really like this song or this style of music as a whole, I have to give some serious credit to the guitarist. That's an awfully Michael-Romeo-esque solo, but done SO well.

Damn I love these guys, had an Rage tattoo for 15 years and dont regret it, they are still making great music. To bad they only play in Sweden on Sweden rock festival, damn far away from everything and a hell of a expensive festival for metal fans.
Yes but, the title of the book is also in reference to this. It is a reference to the darkness in the boys' hearts and eventually to the real Lord of the Flies/Satan that Simon (who represents Jesus) speaks to during one of his seizures.
So yes, it is in fact a reference to the book.

The book shows, that things like the Hitler-regime could have happened to every other countrys too. Jack has red hair and is a symbol that these people aren't nazis, only normal english schoolboys. And the book also shows how fast a community can be destroyed.
