For international listeners; Sivert Høyem is a Norwegian blues vocalist, he's known for his deep voice and has such acclaimed songs as Prisoner of the Road and Endless Love.
I wouldn't quite call it blues, but I'm unfamiliarized with his solo albums. Blue's inspired, ok.
His work with Madrugada is fantastic and Industrial Silence is, in my opinion, a nothing-short-of-amazing, dark and melancholic indie album. In the vein of Nick Cave, Cohen, etc. with a hint of (good) Pearl Jam "poppiness" to it.
Soy de Honduras... te aseguro, que mi vida cambió al escuchar esta canción...
we know!
For Norwegian listeners: Frost is God everywhere.
@@carlosalvarenga2234 hermano, te felicito por tu buen gusto. Saludos desde México.
Sivert should join Satyricon or make another project with them (dont care) and continue producing music like this, the world needs it
The could work with of the wand and moon. this reminds me of of the wand and moon but with more guts. check out the track lucifer.
Yeah \m/
Vishnu Giridran Not at all. I find his voice to be Very calming
Nah, one time project, and that is enough... But a truly enjoyable performance
THIS SONG SUCKS
This is a masterpiece ! regardless which genre they ever "belonged" to. A good song is more important than any genre .
Well said.
Couldn't have said it better
FF ,true👍.For me closin it in a genre, you will cut out and losing some details.🤔
Saluti from northern Italy.
🙏
This masterpiece genre is Phoenix metal.
what an unbelievable stupid statement. apples and oranges doesn't even begin to describe what you just compared
Am I the only one who wants whole Satyricon album with Sivert on vocals ??
trust me, you're not :)))
Emperor Gravestromer I. I want a version of this song with Satyr singing it. that'd be awesome.
me too, want this
Forniccvs Gravestromer Yes please.
Both of them are great
Into the night
My long suffering friend
We'll be reborn again
Right here where everything ends
Face to the sky
A trail of smoke in the air
Pass into emptiness
New life's awaiting you there
Slave to some wretched old
Imagination of yesteryear
Now all that grows in the skulls
Of the living are flowers of fear
The morning red
A sun-god calling you back
Down through a thousand years
White embers whistle and crack
Await the dawn with her kiss of redemption,
My firebird!
You were the queen of the souls of all men
Before there was the w-o-r-d
The morning new, the morning red,
The fiery promise
Mad swirling smoke wheels round her head
Dedication to the queen of souls, her lost disciples
And when the fire's work is done
Our time to be reborn
By pagan streams
A wind whips the leaves from the trees
And it is revealed to us
That we are dreams within dreams
Born from some wretched
Old imagination of yesteryear
Now all that grows in the skulls of the living
Are flowers of fear
The morning new, the morning red,
The fiery promise
Mad swirling smoke wheels round her head
Dedication to the queen of souls, her lost disciples
And when the fire's work is done
Our time to be reborn
The morning new, the morning red,
The fiery promise
Mad swirling smoke wheels round her head
Dedication to the queen of souls, her lost disciples
And when the fire's work is done
The phoenix now reborn
I would like to hear it in Norwegian.

oh my, all about this is perfect. Those lyrics...
For some reason, and I don't know why, this is heavier for me than growling and screaming. Then again, Sivert's voice is powerful!
Yeah, it's the same with some old Doom Metal stuff (like with Messiah's very clean and awesome vocals, but still heavy as fuck). It's the atmosphere that contributes a lot.
I'm gonna play this song to my non-metal friends to explain to them what black metal sounds like to black metal fans
hahahaah this
that would be inaccurate but it's still a good song to show a non Black Metal listener. might make them curious as to what Black Metal actually sounds like, they would definitely be shocked& probably think yer a liar after the point of finding out what most other Black Metal bands sound like.
😂😂hahah classic 🤘🤘
@@dEAthlikEstAtici think you misunderstood what they said
Maybe I’m a drama queen but this is the greatest song I have ever heard. Everything is so perfect about it. I’ve listened to it like 7 times today and it hasnt gotten old yet.
I've discovered this show/song this year...can,'t stop listening ...2021
Same here it’s got a permanent place in my head now
Since the first time i listened to this masterpiece I can't get enough too
I agree
Still listening in 2022, found when it came out won’t ever get sick of it!!!
I remembered my first time hearing this. It was absolutely unpredictable. Not your typical clean vocals and screaming. Just that its Sivert's singing alone made it a masterpiece And the lyrics are amazing. Every time I play this song I have to put it on repeat for a while before I can move on to another song. The guitars, the drums, the choir in the background, everything is perfect about it... well, to me at least :)
I honestly wish that there would be more Satyricon with Sivert Høyem
The cold and haunted sound of black metal music with the deep and warm Sivert's voice actually gives the feeling of a dying majestic creature, preparing to burn out into becoming the cradle of a new herself.
This song is a masterpiece
the contrast between 4 headbangers and one bald guy is AWESOME!!
@1:46
I feel the same thing when I see, amazing
There are 5 headbangers including frost !
Judas Priest....(cough)
I love this...
One of the best songs ever made. Absolute masterpiece
The drumming is very delicious. Double pedal and hi-hat combo!
yeah it's phenomenal
It's Frost, baby!
Frost is amazng drummer
Frost has been one of my biggest influences as a drummer and musician. His dedication and passion inspired me, and continues till this day. Hoyem's haunting vocals are just perfect against the icy guitars.
666metal333 i love respect that guy
The voice, the lyrics, the drums, the chorus? I can't name it.
Goosebumps all the way. Thank you for this masterpiece.
Frost on drums One. Of the best drummer and hellhammer
I have been searching for more music that sounds like this for 7 years now. This is so unique and good. I hate that there is nothing like it.
This is some of the most generic rock music out there, what are you on about?
This one is on another level, hard to find something like this, but here are some i get similar vibes (some have mixed guturals):
Loreley - Lord of The Lost
Let's Go - Emigrate
Lonesome Road - Gorilla Rodeo
Deeper - Vulture Industries
Into the Unknown - The Vision Bleak
Sing Child Horror Vacui - ASP
The last Ammunition - Deathstars
Stellar Tombs - Draconian

One of the best songs ever by Satyr, Frost & Co. Love it!
When my mother dies i was listening to it almost everyday. Today came here for the 1st time again and goosebumps almost killed me. Its a beautiful and very underrated piece of dark art -
a strong MODERN BLACK METAL full with emotions. People moaning over how "bad" this album is - can lick my feet toes . There is more colours of dark as black ! Love forever !
So this is what Satyricon is up to these days. Beautiful song.
@Laurence Pinney bruh
@Laurence Pinney you need a new schtick
There's new project coming in 2020 or 2021, but there's little talk about it still. Satyr took a break.
@Laurence Pinney Especially funny coming from a lad named Laurence who looks like he escaped the Revenge of the Nerds movie.
Look Laurence's other comments, everything he comments is saying people are gay! We've got mad little elitist here
Satyricon has my respect, take in mind that your musical taste is as big as your narrow mind.
My heart sings hearing this beautiful melody.
It´s beautiful... it goes directly from within. A beautiful contrast to the appearance of the band.
A beautiful beautiful beautiful masterpiece.
this is why satyricon is one of the best NBM bands of all time
This is one of the Best songs Satyricon ever did.One
of my all time favorites. That Live at the opera CD is
Awesome. Got to give them Credit
Matthew Lohr 🤘🤘
Let's just say I'm glad I was born in the 90's. Thank you lord metal for the great music.
Get your chills on - It's so beautiful...
"All that grows in the skulls of the living are flowers of fear".
Anguish and love
Жиизнь невозможно повернуть назад!!
И время ни на миг не останооооовишь!
This song is unlike anything else, this is one of the few songs that i never get bored of, i wish satyricon made a side project with Sivert Høyem, imagine a whole band that sounds like this, maybe even mix some gutural? That would be something else.
Satyricon is so fucking great!!
The better bands are those who find their own sound beyond any genre.
Great song
Satyricon keep pushing their boundaries to be heights. Live at the Opera is one of my all time favourite albums.
He is perfect for this song! Sivert "the voice" hoyem! He'll yeah¡!!
4:48 I also wanted to get up from my chair watching this video. It is because of things like this that Satyricon will prevail in metal history. Another masterpiece of Satyricon.
I'm not the biggest fan of black metal as genre, but I really really like Satyricon, as their old stuff so their newer albums. And I think this song is awesooome. Who cares its not the same as the old songs? No band has the same songs for 20 years gosh, grow up people, stop whining and enjoy the metal \m/
i agree
+Lorelai Hale Yes! This is exactly what I think. Inverted crucifix, corpse paint, satanic things is boring. All bands look all the same. Satyricon is different, they rule!
+Piotr Gaszka I expressed myself badly. Today they have an identity, looks different from the others, you now... music, clothes, corpse paint, satanic things, I'm tired from those things.
+Lorelai Hale This is actually the only good Satyricon Song, if you look for good black metal, try hearing Peste Noire or Pensées Nocturnes
+Lorelai Hale So well said Lord Hale
I was there! Amazing concert!
Sivert is one of the few non metal vocals i really like and respect.
Satyricon reaches the black metal maturity. Fully emotional, dramatic... Satyr feared for his health few time ago, he reborn in this song...
Sivert Høyesm !!!! Amazing voice !!!!!
This just shows the broad spectre Satyricon can play on. Awesome performance by Sivert Høyem also!
Always loved Satyricon since the KING era, this song is absolutely amazing \m/
This music gives me chills, it's another astonishing proof of Satycon's artistic inspiration and skill, im amazed by how they got to merge perfectly Frost heartbreaking drums, Sivert's warm timeless voice and cold black guitars... Thanks Satyr and Frost for blessing us with such magnificent art.
This song is too fucking cool and their stage presence is so awesome! I discovered this song today and it's been a long time since the last time I discovered a song that got me as impressed as this one did!
I like it when the doublebassdrum just goes on and on... Small pauses on it make that sound even better, it´s like the "engine" of the song is started and then it just rolls on.
Satyricon has always had this really accessible sound without compromising its integral black metal foundations.
that Sivert's angry look makes me so excited, he usually is so calm (which I totally love also)
Satyricon
Reiveinting the Black Metal with this song
to make black metal dont need screams and grunts but a strong and blasfemic(not necessary) lyric, great instrumental and a strong voice.
Satyricon needed make a full album with Sivert because his voice is amazing
stay true
Verdade Romario ,pura verdade
thats like saying death metal doesnt need death growls thats an important part of black metal
Borknagar already had clean vocals long before Satyricon
This song is not black metal. It's a good song but you can't say it's fuckin black metal. And black metal without the real black metal vocals is not black metal. Don't kid yourself.
Sam Fouani So Borknagar isn't black metal? Ok...
Well, I was there, and to everyone hating the crowd, well, there are rows of seats in the way. This is an opera hall. It has rows with seats. Also, Norwegians are usually like this on concerts. It's cultural, nothing personal. Finally, this song is perhaps not the craziest of songs.
Kocham niezmiennie juz od tylu lat - do krwi💋...Renata zawsze BOSKA!
I'm grateful to have discovered this masterpiece. I've listened to Satyricon for a while and this is now my favorite song of theirs ✨ I'm sharing it as much as I can
A beautifully haunting masterpiece, chilling, goose flesh moments that sends you on the most magical journey that you never want to return from...
This song has been a lullaby for my Younger daugther
I simply adore this song, both the music and Sivert's voice, cuts through my heart.
I don't care what king of ,,genre" this is, or is it still ,,black metal". This is simply f**king great and only that matters. Satyricon always followed their own path an I have total respect for their attitude.
Perfect. Long live Satyricon.
the norwegians knows about music !!!! Respect from Greece
I'll never understand why they get so much shit for experimenting with the genre and composing what they feel. For 1 - how do you think different genres come about? Experimentation. 2. People fucking change. Music is an expressive outlet of the soul. Besides, I just love how people think bands need to fit in a box of what they feel they should be put in. You don't like it? Don't listen to it. I've listened to Satyricon for well over 10 years. I'd be sick and tired of them if all we had was exact copies of Nemesis Divina and The Shadowthrone. Get over yourselves.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Because edgy teenagers and metal purists like to say what music us the plebs can enjoy.
@@fargranhammerheart True. Metal to me is about freedom from any shackle. Elitism is shackles for your mind. People can dislike this song of course, but to say what is or isn't "allowed" to be metal or to be enjoyed just exposes one own's flaws and limits.
i thought they were rather basic BM before so the second they did blackrock i was like 🤘
@@benedekgabor. when you have original an finely tuned groups (savatage, dark tranquility, anathema metallica for a popular example) they simply aren't the great sound they once created anymore an become clones; you know the clones that you didnt listen to cause you were too busy listening to the originals. satyricon doesnt get credit for BM; somehow only emperor does so them changing i do not see as a huge negative. this song however gets a pass because its just this one song. this is rather a latter day anathema clone. but like what you want. just dont tell me you listen to high energy music if you dont. thats my problem. people may eventually be like "can you stop playing drums/guitar/singing" when you find a female who sees this song as the most brutal satan worshippers ever. so it can go both ways as to whos the ass

A true black metal hymn. Can't get enough even now in 2022
now that I think about it, this is absolutely BEAUTIFUL.
Satyr looks good without the hair, different vocal style too.
+rowolta ayyy lmao
+rowolta it is a Norwegian singer Sivert Høyem
+rowolta The bald man isn't satyr! You can see satyr at the begining of the video with his guitar.

Incrível como a atmosfera desse som passa o ar melancólico, mas, ao mesmo tempo, lindo!
One day we just grow up. I few like a giant when hear BM, but this album is far away the most important job in Satyricon history, lyrically powerful. "Phoenix" is like a pagan cult of the ancients. Brilliant and beautiful.
This is absolutely my favorite Satyricon's song. No doubt.
I played this song when I had to bury my cat of 19 years. The theme of rebirth will always be emotional for me
you guys really need to make more song with Sivert, this song is a masterpiece
Fabulous song. Beautiful
A voz dele é maravilhosa
Thinking man's black metal. Love the new Satyricon. Sophistication in being evil.
El buen gusto y la elegancia musical se dan la mano en este gran tema. Sublime!
Høyem....that voice...listen often to Madrugada when work in Norway....🇸🇪
What makes me sad is, this is probably the only song in this style an sound.... Sivert's style and Satyricon's are entirely different from this amazing gem :'(
Not important, they should make a whole album. Black Metal with clean vocals is highly underrated and overlooked
@@SWAATSFan I totally agree
