  • Curtains can be expensive and finding the pattern, size, and style your looking for can take a lot of time. This tutorial was drummed up by Heather to add a fun style of curtains to her roommate's bedroom. Follow her steps on how to make your own No-Sew curtains with simple tools you already have laying around like an iron, ruler and a few others.
Here are some links to get anything you don't already have so you can make these yourself!

I just went through several now-sew hemming tape /IKEA curtain videos before I found yours and I think yours is better than most of the others which came up before yours. I think you deserve more visibility. Half of those videos are just regurgitating the same thing they all found from some original poster. YOU answered more questions and were more clear and not annoying. So I actually subscribed o your channel. I was looking for a specific answer to how many inches to add for a hem with doing the tape. So, for a two inch hem, do I add another 1.5 cm to fold over the end to keep it from fraying? then where do I lay the tape ? At the bottom crease or at the top? which is harder to control and keep in a straight line? I am using IKEA tape. I have already hemmed 5 panels and have found the Ikea tape easier to work with that heat bond brand, but also the one hem was stiff at the bottom and this project is heming think blackout curtains at eye level above a kitchen sink and will be opening an closing daily- I will spend time at the sink basically starring at the hem while washing dishes. That is not the same as a hem along the floor which just stays in the same pale every day and night. I COULD just cut two inches tape at the top and be done, but then I wondered about an unfinished edge. But no one will be looking at the back. I just know it will be there. But the extra fold may also make the hem stiff and harder to pull back to allow for sun. It is only a 36 by 36 window, so I need the curtains to fold back all the way when opening them. If you care to advise that would be great! I am not a sewer or crafty person. recently I have been learning a lot and developing new skills I did not realize I had! The pinking shears comment was helpful. Tomorow I am going to go set some and maybe cut the end with pinking shears and skip the estrat fold over. the problem with iron on tape is you cant rip out the seams and do a do-over. The fabric under the tape is then useless. Buying a new curtain panel is pricey. thank you

I sewed all of my curtain sets and built/upholstered all of my valance boxes to match, but only because I'm set up to sew heavy fabrics and have an industrial grade walking foot. That being said, this is a good option because I end up just basting things down and ironing them after I sew a line anyway, and ALOT of people out there don't know and really don't want to learn how to do basic sewing on a machine.

Good idea!! What about fabric glue? I was going to do this with glue and hope it's not too messy

Your flatmate must be a Finn. There were many Finnish items on the shelf.

I see! Welcome to Finland. Right now we are experiencing a classic Mayday snow blitz in Helsinki.
