If people like Shaun and big Joel didn't just lie constantly then no one would have any issue with the way their content is presented. The reason leftist UA-camrs and video essayists use emotional dialectics, strawmen, memes, popular culture and the culture of their audience to bring home a larger political point (that's wrong) is because it's presented in a way that intentionally makes it unclear to the average viewer that only cares for what they are saying. Dialectics is all about intentionally confusing your audience and making your real point unclear. And making yourself sound smarter/more appealing than your actual point would allow you to be.

I definitely agree with Joel on the point of growing up and growing disinterested in political ideologies, I was in that Ben Shapiro, Jordan Peterson, “Own the left” phase when I was around 14. After a few years I expanded my knowledge on politics and expanded my own thoughts and realized i don’t fit the right at all and lean left. I enjoy listening to your channel as it gives a new perspective on political influencers and influencers in general. So this is all to say thank you for your channel and the discourse you bring.

ngl Big Joel is right about growing out of certain people, I used to watch Sargon a lot but idk what exactly happened but i just kind of stopped watching Sargon and Dankula as a whole, despite Dank's amazing Absolute Madlads series. I'm not entirely sure why but I just see Sargon as kind of pretentious and boring, though I don't believe that that alone is enough to dismiss all of their political points which I have agreed with in the past. Politics as a whole is boring, but I think the world would be a better place if we weren't so polarized on a lot of topics and instead people tended to agree more to a healthy balance of both non extreme left leaning and right leaning opinions.

You might also go from Vaush or PhilosophyTube, to ContraPoints, or Destiny, again, regardless if you're left wing or not you'll recognize the latter 2 are far and away better than the first 2.

And the problem with your sentiment is that "extreme" positions aren't set in stone, they change along with the mainstream. For instance, in the 1930s Americans could purchase fully automatic machine guns used by the military. Nowadays, California has a 10-round magazine limit, and it is considered 'extreme' in many circles to support organizations like the NRA that don't even consider pushing to lift restrictions on automatic weapons (much to the contrary of how leftists would portray the NRA)
Part of maturing is to understand your own principals and to stand up for what's right, that's always been the root of 'extremist' political movements. I think a problem with your statement is that you assume the majority of people align with your views by default, rendering them 'normal'. When in reality, the average voter in Canada would probably view you as a whack job.
And lastly, I can't seem to find any examples of hardline, well connected, prominent right wingers that parallels the level of political zealotry as breadtubers or any other socialist/leftist movement in America. A staggering majority of anti-SJWs, conservatives, republicans, Trump supporters, libertarians and even fucking neo conservatives constantly try to extend the branch to their opposition or outwardly agree with a large pool of their points; 'racism is bad, imperialism is bad, fascism is bad, big corporations are evil, we should protect the environment, America should be more responsible with its power' so on so fourth. There is one side that is objectively and disproportionately contributing to the problem. Ever watch a congressional hearing? I went through a similar political phase, as an edgy teenage boy I grew up watching anti sjw videos and people like Sargon, Chris Ray Gun, Shoeonhead (even though I still watch her content) I grew out of just dunking on feminist and sjw’s cause I thought it was starting to get really annoying and cringe.
I then started watching more left wing content on UA-cam with videos like Shaun, Hbomerguy, Contrapoints, Hasan Piker, and Noah Samson. Now despite my disagreements with channels like Hbomerguy, Shaun, and Contrapoints, they make really well thought out videos that are really interesting to watch and are very high quality. (Unlike Noah’s videos)
I then started to notice alot of flaws in that leftist community on UA-cam that they were so unwilling to call out, Hasan with his millionaire house, Noah Samson and his inconsistent arguments, and Little Joel with his ego. I started to notice the left has this constant need to one up everyone and the constant virtue signaling and moral grandstanding was so condescending, they demonize anyone who is right-leaning and ostracized people that don’t agree with them 100% (I mean look at Destiny and how he gets treated by people on his own side for criticizing the left, not being a socialist, the Kyle Rittenhouse court case, and acknowledging things the left just won’t admit).
I then started to realize that these people on the left are just the same SJW’s and Radical Feminists people used to make fun of years ago except now they are more popular now.
Leftist and progressives have gotten crazy the last year or two and that alienates normal people where only radicals remain, the left are so unwilling to criticize itself and it’s people so they leave only radicals who demonizes anyone who disagrees with them. I have no association with the right in any way politically, but the left are starting to get filled by only far left radical socialists,they are just so detached from reality that they push away and ostracize anyone who criticizes them.
I’m not a left or right guy anymore, I’m more of a common sense kinda guy. A lot of these online leftist talk about the “alt right pipeline” (which I agree that there are spaces on the internet that radicalize young people into far right thinking on the internet) but left acts like they don’t have on too.
It’s good to find people who actually have common sense in this highly polarizing and politically space online.
Ps: another thing I found creepy was the way so many leftist were patting Idubbbz on the back for his garbage “I miss the old idubbbz” video, it was so creepy, it was like a “you’re one of us” kinda deal that really annoyed me. These people only respond to words and not actions so if someone just says the right thing that they agree with, then you’re one of them.
