The Regency flats were the first place I stayed when I first went on holiday to Blackpool 31 years ago so it’s sad to see it getting demolished, so many childhood memories 😢
‘How long can that toilet last’ Shakespeare would struggle to reuse that line. Pure class Steve.
Hi Stephen thank you for another great video as always its well fascinating this its clever how it's done too that toilet deffo didn't want to go have a great day xx
There’s something strangely therapeutic watching that machine at work!..😳
I was 11 years old when I went to Blackpool its my favourite place in the world nothing beat Blackpool I always injoy my time there
So sad to see this building go, great video thankyou Stephen 👍
As much as I hate to see these beautiful old buildings being demolished, it's oddly satisfying to watch. I was howling at your obsession with the toilet 😂😂😅😅
Great video Stephen thankyou, shame you couldnt get the street sign ...loved the suspense of the bog standard toilet😂😂😂
Fabulous video Stephen! I've never been so entertained watching a toilet before!
Wouldnt you just love to have a go with that crane looks great fun lol thank you for another great one see you on the next one x
Just seen you Steve filming from the grass opposite St Chad's hotel. I was sitting on a stone watching the demolition and enjoying the sea views. At home watching your film now. Best come home before I get a soaking very black clouds behind you. Xxx
Hello again Stephen
There not wasting any time with the demolition of St Chad's Hotel
Thanks for the update
😢😢😢 Buy St Chad's loved working there lovely memories & made some good friends with the last owners so sad to watch as the building is or was stunning 🙏them corner bay rooms were massive and with big windows the views were amazing 🙏
Another great video mate, sad to see this, St Chad's was one of Mum and Dad's favourite Hotels, a few years back our whole Family brought in New Year attheHote, great memories.
That toilet just didn't want to "go"! 😂😂😂
Super video Stephen it was great to watch it very good action i hope you and your family and friends are well and safe
Hi Stephen,
The cable ducting is called conduit. Great video again!
Thank you Stephen as always ,great job.👍👍
Thanks for update Stephen live your videos
That was a really nice building. Hope they put some interesting architecture in its place..
Another great video Stephen, there’s always something going on in Blackpool. It’s a shame really pulling all those old buildings down, hope they build something new that matches the ones that are left. Looking forward to seeing you again.❤❤❤
No probs Wendy x
Well it really has caught peoples interest 👍👍👍👍
Thanks for the video Stephen, it is sad really when you think of the time it took to build and it's demolished in seconds. Good plumber that put that toilet in, didn't think it was ever going to go!😊😊😊😊
All that history in the hotel... All gone! Wonder how many parties and weddings have taken place there! Such a shame!
Unbelievable tenacity from the bog...!!!
Great video. Thanks for filming this 😊 they are doing a great job. The site looks very clean
thanks pal for another great video
great video thank you for takeing the time to bring us the updates of blackpool areas nice one a thumbs up and a like for you once again thank you.
I do miss the original blackpool. The bulbs and brighter but the promenade is now a garden like north Victorian Blackpool used to be. Stevie, daisies in your background on Blackpool promenade...Blackpool is some beautiful else.
Thanks for the update Stephen i didn't think it would be that easy to knock it down
Well seen Steve today with dad Alan Chipchase near st chads , what a great bloke , had a bit chat , hand shake and a picture . Nice tah meet you , keep up the great work
Great to meet you!
Hello Stephen, that toilet decided it has had enough of hanging around 😂😂😂
Nice update good to Jamie with you Stephen
Another excellent video Stephen 😊 The toilet 🚻 didn't want to leave 😅
Omg. Nearly down now 🤨 it will be down by next week. Great update stephen. Hope ur ok. 👍😊
I can't explain it, but there's something quite therapeutic about watching one of these machines slowly chewing up an old building
Yes.
Hi Stephen. Another fantastic video well done and keep up the great work

Hi Stephen, yes its a very sad day , for me . I stayed in St Chad's hotel for 26 years , but although the hotel is being demolished , I have got good memories of the hotel . Anyway we must move on , to a new hotel . All the Best Simon , from Chesterfield
Great video mate. Jesus I'm not gona recognise Blackpool next time I visit 😮
Hi Stephen another great update but still it’s sad about another old hotel being pulled down, but what I was really sad about was that poor toilet 🚽 clinging for dear life 😂 but let’s hope the new hotel plans will work out and another new one will make its mark for the future for people to enjoy 👍 Thanks again and until next time take care, Pauline from Blackpool living in Canada 🍁
Someone should of took the toilet for a planter 😂😂 seen it on gardens world lol nice update Stephen x😊
Certainly not bog standard 😂really good 😂😂😂. Amazing to see the way they demolish things .thanks stephen
My vlogs are never bog standard! 😆
I wonder if they will get to the main st Chad's hotel sign when I am in Blackpool on Saturday afternoon.🤔
Coming to Blackpool tomorrow Friday for a few days hope there's something left for me to film. Going to Fleetwood jumble trail on Sunday. As always thanks for the content
Sounds like fun!
Class commentary Stephen, I was laughing when you were talking about the poor toilet, hanging on for grim death 😂😂
Hiya Stephen..great video..hey hope no body has got their washing out..haha
Lol.
Next weekend when we are Blackpool that building will have gone
I'm there next weekend, too, for a concert... going on Pleasure Beach for a couple of hours first, though 😊
Great Vlog, Stephen. Wouldn't' like to be living or staying down wind of the demolition with all that dust blowing about and getting in the house. Shame they couldn't pay for the fire brigade to dampen things down. I remember you remarking on the lack of dust at the demolition of the New Hacketts due to the amount of water used to douse the fire. Ok, no fire here, but the dust from this demolition must be horrendous for nearby residents, hotels and B & Bs despite the 'misters'.
I hope it's not too modern like the black Spyglass one near the tower, I hate to be an old grumble but I really dont like that right next to the gorgeous art deco woolworths building, I'd prefer to have kept the art deco style up along the front in traditional Blackpool splendour. I do like modern too but save that for behind with all the lovely new developments xx
Me neither Christine.
So sad to see such a beautiful old building go.Hope that dust is not asbestos.
Oh Stephen. I was with you, we should have started a hashtag, #savethetoilet 😂 - Great video mate. Keep up the good work. ❤
Should be interesting to see the bridge connecting the new hotels there. bit like what they will be doing with the Winter Gardens Hotel and the Conference Centre with a bridge going across connecting the two. Looks like they have there work cut out for them at the site, will St Chad's road be renamed or will it stay for posterity? I enjoyed watching.
I did not realise what a "Big Job"😵💫😵💫 this would be.
I know it's sad that the hotel is being demolished, but Stephen I've got tears with laughing so much. That was comedy gold, from string theory, to ballcock to your running commentary on the demise of the toilet, it was absolutely hilarious xx
Thanks Moonage xx
@A Walk on the Wild Side You're welcome Stephen, by the way the thumbnail is so cool xx
@@moonagedaydream4489 Thanks Moonage xx
Hi there, another great video like always I do enjoy your videos very informative and great information. Can’t wait to be back in Blackpool and keep up the good work and I hope one day my channel gets a little way towards where you are and have a good work
Can't wait to go back to Blackpool again soon need to save the money now
RIP Toilet. You fought bravely until the end. Fly high with the angels 👼
😜😉😂🤦🏻♀️
Great Video Stephen Thanks😮
Game of Blackpool monopoly anyone..?
You don't purchase new ones...
You invest in demolished and burnt down ones instead. 😅
Seriously it is sad but ..as they say out with the old in with the new...
Great filming Stephen 👏💐
"I just saw a ballcock then" . You will probably never use that line again in a vlog, Stephen😂
I say ballcocks to that!!!!
🤣🤣🤣 xx
@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool 🤣🤣🤣 xx
@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool 😂😂😂😂
Thanks for the vidio will be gone time I come for the airshow sadly missed
Damn :( kills me to see no one there to save the sign. Blackpool Heritage wasnt there. Shame
I really wish I'd grabbed it now. Maybe there is one on the the other side?
@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool Yay, Sevie... There, that's u being you! Here n now n surely deserves a place on the other side. U can't be denied a place in Heaven after volunteering a search for that sign. Ur a good man, quite clearly. Anyone wonder why one man "accidently" became "Star Man"?
Random thought, I take it to duel these vehicles up, they have to go to the petrol stations in the cans with a lot of Jerry cans to fuel up the machines that are pulling down these buildings
A fuel van was on hand.
Another great vidio Stephen, wowsers
its video.
R.I.P THE TOILET 😢😢😢
It's called trunking that wires go onto
Conduit is the name for it
Thanks Pam.
At least they’re going to replace the old, outdated hotel with a new one. It’s better than yet another multistory car park.
I agree - I said the other day Northern seaside towns have been devalued by a lack of investment - go to places like Bournemouth and Poole and Eastbourne you will see investment that brings in holiday makers that brings in money. Not always welcomed getting rid of the old buildings but there is no doubt that shiny new plate glass trumps tired redbrick in need of repair
@@darrenwilson8042 I do like Bournemouth. They have lots of green stuff in the town centre, unlike Blackpool.
@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool hi can you tell me are they also planning on pulling down the lyndene?
Are they also planning on taking down the lyndene?
@@paulalee3586 Long term, yes.
I'd love a go on that machine. Crunching away at a building bit by bit...better than XBox anyday
Steve at media has filmed the end of the sign
Well done to him for that.
Built 1893, now owned by a Singapore company. Very said they couldn't work with this old building.
Is it conduit you are thinking of.
Thanks Dave.
Hi everyone in blackpool
Unistrut, conduit or containment for cables/wires
Thanks Paul.
Its called conduit what the cable passes threw
🙏
I bet that's not " bog" standard...like what you done there Stephen
Out with the old and in with the new ther is more needing doing like this thats just my opinion it was an old building before the tower the one that's being knocked down now I am to believe
Electrical Trunking and conduit Stephen
Thanks Ian.
It was bomb proof that toilet!! 🚽 xx
Wonder how many kids were conceived in the hotel
I see a devil bum in the thumbnail.
Hi there great video I do enjoy this it's a bit like being the kid isn't it I suppose that happens with most men it says something fascinating watching a building being pulled down I'm waiting to see if there's any ghosts already waiting to see a video where they're pulling the building down and it has to stop because someone sees someone up in the building that would be fantastic to see
Just googled this hotel - any clue how it happened?
Whats left of the building that was on fire
Hope they build another hotel to replace it 👍
Yes they are doing once it'd knocked down lydenne is going as well afterwards
Ah ok 👍
Would someone please explain to me why it doesn’t get taken down from the bottom? And what is the black thing at the right hand side of the digger thingy 😃
It would collapse from the bottom and that would be carnage lol
@@dan1strike thank you for your time
Would probably take out all of Blackpool's best vloggers in one few swoop lol.
@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool Steve as long as it’s not you my mum and myself love seeing you videos keep up the good work 😀
Conduit Stephen
Ta pal.
@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool 😜
Hope they put something nice in its place.
that machine reminds me of myself at an all you can eat buffet
I wonder what they're going to build on that land in it's place. Maybe apartments.
Another Hotel I believe.
wouldn't like to live opposite that demolition site.
Takes no time to bring down but ages to put up
some hotel booking sites still list this place at £53 per night
Where is the question I want to ask I'm not sure but are they not why aren't there not spraying water on to it to dampen down the
They had sprayers around the back.
Made good progrees there
It's sad how they demolish without reclaiming old reusable architecture.
Yeah, the street name tiles would have been worth saving. Maybe there are some on the other side.
@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool Definitely Stephen. And the ironwork on the balconies, and the stonework etc. Probably lots of stuff inside too like the plaster ceiling roses and coving.
The owners should let people take stuff if their building is already condemned and written off.
Ask the owner if you can have the St Chads street sign!
Wrecking ball was more fun to watch😁
Omg really?! My brother liked that hotel...
The whole of blackpool needs knocking down it a dump
I keep saying about the original porcelain Street signs not being saved😠
It would have been worth a bit from an antique shop.
