Unlike the C63 which loses its V8, the E will maintain the 4.0 V8 hand built at AMG. It’s
Turbos are twin scroll, meaning much more responsive compared to single scroll and it’s the only car in segment with Dynamic engine mounts - which helps massively with handling the main weight of the car. It also has cylinder deactivation in comfort mode, between 1000 to 3250 rpm shutting down to 4: which we AMG guys don’t really care about.
It also maintains the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G (with wet start-off clutch) A wet multi-plate start-off clutch replaces the torque converter, which you see in rival cars. It saves weight and optimises response, especially when accelerating or coming off the power. Finally linked to the AMG 4matic Plus fully variable all wheel drive system with drift mode, with Electronically regulated rear-axle locking differential.
All of that gives you, 612 BHP, 850NM and 0-60 in 3.4 - but we tested it MUCH quicker!
AMG dynamics is a new feature too, it influences the ESP system based on your requirements or driver skill. It goes from basic, advanced, pro all of which you can choose on the fly, and a final master level when everything is off.
AMG ride control suspension with multi-chamber air suspension has been modified in the facelift to be more comfortable, something the old car struggled with. And we have the AMG valve control Exhaust system: but how good will it sound?

@@thiccboi1726 ur right. M5 US spec without EU regulations sounds way better. The engine roars a lot louder...maybe due to extra 250rpm..maybe its just the decibels.
Isn't as grumbly though. Also everyone always compares standard M5 exhaust. Not the M sport exhaust. Never the M performance exhaust which actually sounds better than the AMG exhausts and much louder - Also M performance one is banned in the EU...

How does it dominate rivals? Look at the stock numbers of e63s 100-200kmh, its 7.3 while M5 is in Sixes... only thing its dominating is AUDI which is in the eight second range..

In terms of what? Because almost all journalist and reviewers chose the e63s as the better car. Now fanboys believe winning a drag race by a tenth of second or two is what makes a car better, but people that actually own these cars no that is ridiculous.

And a better steering but i am still questioning why he his saying it dominates rivals again because a lot of the other car reviewers still prefer the M5 Comp🤔. And it doesn't look that great compared to the pre-facelift

I'm a super AMG fan. But the facelift E63s doesn't have any chance against the M5LCI. Looks, Sound, performance (drag races or track races), infotainment system are all behind M5. Maybe the steering wheel of E63s looks slightly better. It's the only thing I can think of.
I don't mean E63s is a bad car. It's absolutely amazing, way better than RS6/7 or Panamera Turbo S. But M5 is just at another level. Nobody can deny that.

Thank you! It would be absolutely preposterous. The M5 dominates all. I mean 0-60 in 2.8 for 4,300 sedan...and we are not even talking about the CS...SMH...He is just in his AMG bias bag.
The fanboys has spoken. For people that actually cross shop these type of cars would never choose one over the other based on 0-62 times, especially when those times are based off of Launch control, which a person would never use during daily driving. A person would choose a car based off of preference and which car they feel is better suited for them. Most to all journalist already chose the e63s as the better overall car, it has better handling, better infotainment system, better sound, better driving feel also. The f90 m5 just has a more comfortable ride than the pre-facelift e63s but with the new suspension in this new one it might has made them on par in the comfort department. Drag races doesn't determine which car is better overall, only people that never own these type of cars believe that.

The E63s in my opinion is the best performance Saloon now a days. As an over all and daily driving.
New e63S is so ugly compared to the non facelift, I prefer the m5 LCI over this and the m5 cS is on another level

Whats interesting with the MCT... The engine oil system is also connected to the gearbox. The hydraulic pressure of the engine oil is used to move the clutch plates whilst simultaneously using its heat to warm the gearbox to temperature. Its extremely clever system that nobody knows about

It sounds great for an OPF V8, but if you want another OPF car which still pops/crackles check out the facelifted Jaguar F-Type R, that thing still sounds amazing above 3500 rpm 🔥

Still dont get why you start talking about porsche... its not the competition these cars are in. And if you think the Merc looks better its fine, but Design is subjective

Handling. BMW is sports orientated therefore has better handling. You can't claim Merc has better comfort.. then also claim it has better handling...suspension doesn't work like that..its one or the other. Either comfort for roads, or stability/handling for higher speeds or cornering at the expense of comfort.
Build quality? U shot yourself in the foot. BMW has higher build quality. The 5 series has NO plastic parts replacing leather. It's all leather or soft and squidgy. The E class has plastic underside. Also the centre console shakes. BMW doesn't have this problem. Also since there's more trim and bad build quality.. it creeks way more. Mercedes are known for creeking problems and shaking centre consoles

On one hand they claim E is more comfortable than the 5. Then claim its also more sporty/stable/better handling??? Not how suspension works. Its either a stiff set up for stability at speeds and cornering focusing on handling at the expense of comfort. Or its soft set up to cushion the bumps..but waddles on the corners with less handling/stability.
Everyone knows BMW is the sports focused brand far more sporty and handling focused than the Merc equivalent.

Your AMG pride is getting to you.(Yes I’m a Bimmerhead). LOL. The only way an engine feels naturally aspirated, is when it’s naturally aspirated. A twinturbo engine will never give you that feel/feedback , especially the same as the legendary 6.2.

There was a time when a fully built car went into a specialist shop such as AMG. The upgrade costs were enormous. Bringing AMG inhouse has in the end made them cheaper for consumers. It's an almost win-win.
Can you start the car in sport plus for the exhaust?
I'm so glad and disappointed at the same time that the C63s Coupe, E Coupe and the amazing S63 Coupe will be only one car in the future. It looks like they abandoned the large elegant AMG coupe like CL63. It's not a good sign that big luxury car companies like Mercedes and BMW cut their lineup, especially the 'Dream cars'.
It's what we normal people fighting for.

Honestly I forgot: they’ve very much evenly matched, Panamera feels bigger though.

Currently driving the pre facelift can not best an AMG and slowly converting my friends to AMG then M cars and RS cars
I have always loved the E63. Not a fan of the price tag... However, I am curious if the new C Class will get coupe variant.
