@@saile_1004 Yeah their quality was absolute garbage a few years ago but not so much any more. I think this skews people perception somewhat. R2 is basically a 3rd gen EV 4runner. And the R3/X was a absolute nastolgic surprise. Pure brilliance. RJ, you've earned your rest. Excellent job Rivian!
If you have a problem with iPhone min brightness, turn on reduce white point in accessibility settings, and set it as your accessibility shortcut. This makes it so the screen gets super dim if you triple press the power button.
I have to say the trivia pause is getting to the point where I am checking if my phone lost connection or something before Marques says: let's do trivia
You can make the iPhone screen very dark with the reduce white point accessibility setting. Also, using the color filters in accessibility set to red is nice at night or in dark settings. Blue menu buttons disappear though
I LOVE the styling of the R3. I've been eyeing the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and I prefer the styling, though the headlights look a little weird for some reason.
Fun fact... McDonalds coke is better because they are required to buy a $20k machine that keeps the syrups the same temp as the water. They also have proprietary mixes like you said.
Been seeing a lot of R1 lately in So Cal. Not sure about other areas. Put a deposit down during the reveal presentation for R2. Looks 🔥!!! Would gladly accept early delivery 😉
13:15 Totally agree with you , Andrew. Despite being a computer person (Not a Gamer), I've been using a MacBook Air M2 512GB since Jan 2023 as my daily driver. Not even a single time did I regret my decision
13:52 that doesn't check out, MacBook (at least base M3) speed is the same as any LPDDR at the same bit width and MHz, it's not faster because it's on package (not on chip), it just takes less power. Some then argue latency, but the speed of electricity in a copper wire is so fast it can be expressed as a significant fraction of the speed of light, it makes no difference to the computer. The swap is also not on package, so I'm not sure what he's relating on-package RAM to swap on off-package NAND to.
Great Podcast guys. Kind of got nervous when you broke in with AI because of the six fingers.Enjoyed and MKB need to get rest. I see you guys have been very busy. Thanks so much for sharing. ✌️💯
I'm doing just fine with my MacBook Pro from 2015 with 128gb of storage with still almost 30gb of free space. Obviously I have a hard drive where I keep my movies and backups, but since I connect to my work server to work i don't need either the storage and the CPU/GPU power
I really like how the R3 and R3X look, especially the big tail light and the seats in the R3X. I hope they don't change a thing, EXCEPT adding YELLOW REAR BLINKERS (it's illegal in certain countries to have red rear blinkers...it didn't used to be this way).
24:35 @David I've experience the same issue with my iPhone 15 Pro in light mode. You can use the zoom accessibility feature to lower brightness even lower while still zoomed out which has basically solved my issues with the lowest brightness. Just lookup a guide on how to turn the feature on "Use Zoom to add low light filter"
I mean it’s basically more expensive then Model Y while having lesser specs. Are you choosing the Rivian just because of the better styling and design? Also consider that Model Y will gets its refresh by the time this is being delivered too.
I use one of my Mac mini M1s just for work, which consists of Chrome, Excel, and Word. The 8GB 128GB model works flawlessly and runs butter smooth. I can’t imagine needing to upgrade it until they end macOS upgrades. At which point I’ll get whatever base Mac mini comes with the new OS.
really interested in R3. love the taillight and the hatchback look. reminds me of the old vw rabbit and the old honda civic hatchback. but hopefully the price will be closer to $20K. hopefully.
Very interesting interview with openAI, a lot dodged answers to the questions asked. The biggest question I thought would have been asked but wasn't "Are you training Sora on my videos?", Maybe you haven't thought of that yet, but they are almost certainly training their product on your product and you aren't receiving anything for it.
I feel like back-right/front-right should be the standard location for charging ports to accommodate parallel park charging locations in cities. Being on the left makes it compatible with only locations with parking lot style charging locations.
You know you're not listening to a car podcast when one of the guys says a Maverick is a huge truck. It's literally 4 inches longer than a Honda Accord 😂
Love the R2 but can Rivian please change the charge port to the left side of the vehicle if they insist on using NACS so you won't be taking up two stalls when supercharging on the legacy Tesla chargers, those cables are much shorter than V4 chargers. The V4s are nice but most of the country is still using V1-V3 stalls with shorter cables which means you would need to park on the next stall over to charge leaving two stalls busy. Still who knows what might happen with the SC network in 2026.
The openAI interview feels like there is a lawyer off camera holding a gun.
Glad I wasn't the only one who thought that. The guy on the left keeps looking off to his right and seemed very uncomfortable
I don't think! these are my Nerd friends, not used to being interviewed! thats all it is I think!

I have to say the trivia pause is getting to the point where I am checking if my phone lost connection or something before Marques says: let's do trivia
the transition from california was super smooth
You can make the iPhone screen very dark with the reduce white point accessibility setting. Also, using the color filters in accessibility set to red is nice at night or in dark settings. Blue menu buttons disappear though
Why does Aditya Ramesh from the Sora interview look so scared
he is being held at gunpoint
3:07 Even before the teaser ended, I had already made a decision to have one. Simple and efficient tech.
I LOVE the styling of the R3. I've been eyeing the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and I prefer the styling, though the headlights look a little weird for some reason.
Damn I've never been this early before, good way to start the weekend
Early Waveform podcast for the weekend, Thanks guys
Great video as always Marques and team! Enjoying the interview portion right now
Pre ordered 3 of the R2.
I didn't do 3 for sure😮. But I did 1. Good on you!
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love my Model Y but would trade it tomorrow for the R2! Especially if it has similar or better towing capacity.
A Rivian is definitely more luxurious than a tesla while being more rugged
13:52 that doesn't check out, MacBook (at least base M3) speed is the same as any LPDDR at the same bit width and MHz, it's not faster because it's on package (not on chip), it just takes less power. Some then argue latency, but the speed of electricity in a copper wire is so fast it can be expressed as a significant fraction of the speed of light, it makes no difference to the computer. The swap is also not on package, so I'm not sure what he's relating on-package RAM to swap on off-package NAND to.
Agree with Ellis, R3 looks like classic 80s/90s hatch (80s golf, integrale, Peugeot 205). Awesome cars. The look will last.
5 persons podcast, no one talks over the other, that's really something
Great Podcast guys. Kind of got nervous when you broke in with AI because of the six fingers.Enjoyed and MKB need to get rest. I see you guys have been very busy. Thanks so much for sharing. ✌️💯
I'm doing just fine with my MacBook Pro from 2015 with 128gb of storage with still almost 30gb of free space. Obviously I have a hard drive where I keep my movies and backups, but since I connect to my work server to work i don't need either the storage and the CPU/GPU power
As a person who lives in the city, R3 looks sooooo goooood, would actually consider buying it if it comes out 😁
I just subscribed this month, but this is quickly becoming my morning ritual show. Coffed and some Waveform. Keep up the fun and great episodes!
I love the R3. Looks iconic. Like Beetle or Mini Cooper.
I really like how the R3 and R3X look, especially the big tail light and the seats in the R3X. I hope they don't change a thing, EXCEPT adding YELLOW REAR BLINKERS (it's illegal in certain countries to have red rear blinkers...it didn't used to be this way).
I sort of agree with David, would love to see a mid range phone with a full front display and no frontcamera
It's kind of wild to hear the mic quality difference between Andrew and David vs. Marques. Gotta get Marques an upgrade.
18:51 100%. As someone who barely takes pictures I support this😂
@25:05 My Oneplus 11 behaves the same way and I love it for that. Super comfortable to view at night
Not pre ordering an R2, but that R3/R3X is looking mighty good. Big Lancia Delta Integrale vibes.
Stop talking vehicles without Marques😊
For getting the iPhone brightness down I use triple tap to lower the white point.
Gotta say Marques got good with interview questions lately 😮
Portland, JAMAICA in the Building!!! 👑🇯🇲🔥💥🌟⭐💯💎
on the car audio front until last year i think premium sound solutions was independent. they do a lot of car brands...
R3X is awesome I wish it was lower though I want an R3X rally spec. So cool!!!
Finland also gave you Nokia! You’re welcome! Lol
Ellis is speaking for me with the R3 love!
David you could turn on reduce white point
I use the Accessibility Shortcut in my control panel for the "Reduce White Point" feature to reduce my Iphone brightness further for night use
