Honestly Grimaldus getting over himself and putting the Imperium before his own glory, and the relics and trophies the People of Helsreach protected and earned in battle with the Green Tide, over his chapters 'relic protections' was a masterful story
grimaldus was proud, too proud to accept a humble station. helbrecht taught him humility by humbling him with an appointment to a station that he deemed to be beneath him despite the "promotion" to reclusiarch. at the end of the story he has learned that humility and is finally ready to do his duty. it was a spiritual purge for him that makes for a fantastic character arc.
I absolutely think we need more Grimaldus focused stories. He is just such a force of will. Definitely want to see him on the more matured role after reading Helsreach and his progression after the Celestial Lions Chapter Master being killed by the inquisition.
On Armaggeddon, Hellbrecht threw him away. An untried, new Reclusiarch. Or did he? Perhaps he knew the void battle was already lost? And he needed a man on the ground with a HELL OF A LOT to prove?
@@unruly_ronin he’s the top wolf priest and mentor to both Logan grimnar and Ragnar Blackmane. He’s the one who’s always calling Ragnar the young king. A really good story with him and Blackmane is the Space marine conquest Ragnar novel by Aaron Demski Bowden or at least I liked the book
I would absolutely love a meeting of Grimaldus and Dante. Just a conversation between the two. One having almost lost it all after such a span of service, the other his almost zealot like faith and learning humility. One wanting the release of death, but being denied, and continuing service as a primaris, the other his brothers not accepting this perceived affront to the Emperors work.
Aaron Dembski-Bowden is really good at making characters, both traitors and loyalists. Good story’s are about characters with flaws that has to fight to overcome both themselves and an external enemy.
Heroic pairing for me was Pendro Kantor and Captain Cortez. They were opposites but they completed each other and made great reading. Helsreach was an incredible read and one of my all time favourites.
I've been sleeping on their relationship ngl. I remember going through that first bit of Grimaldus being forced to stay on Armageddon. Bruh I couldn't even understand what was going on beyond the actual words themselves. And sped past it to go to the action. Anyway Rho explains it so well.
On pure power and will? None top post-Primaris Dante and Mephiston. Mephiston is insanely gifted and tough, he has near-Primarch level power. Sure, on the low-end of the Primarchs, but still...
Why would chapters of the same bloodline be “cousins”. They’re still literal siblings of the same Primarch? Cousin would make sense for different bloodlines I would think
So happy Grimaldus has stopped acting like a spoil brat and more like a crusader of the Templars. Helbrecht is awesome throughout and actually you can see his reactions to Grinaldus' outburst in one of the short stories. So much more focused on the chapter than self pity and glory
the reclusiarch is the spirit of the chapter. i see helbrecht leaving grimaldus on helsreach as a real test of that spirit. can he carry the burden of the spirit of the entire chapter on his shoulders? helsreach proven he can

There is literally nothing more I love to follow than the black templars
This is a beautiful narration yet again showing how badass the characters in the world of warhammer 40k are.

Ulrik and Ragnar are another favorite duo that are an absolute joy to read together
This Ulrik, what is his role to the Chapter Master? a librarian or chaplain or what?

Commisar Ciaphus Cain and Gunner 1st class Ferik Jurgen!!!! Heroes of the Imperium!!!!
Trooper Andre in Hellsreach and Grimaldus. Beaquin and eisenhorn is a tricky one
Big giant stories involving millions, small upclose stories involving a handful. All of it, terrific.
I feel like there are many space marine chapters that have no problem fighting the inquisition.
the space wolves and dark angels both i know have at one time or another
@@gamingborgerpretty sure the blood angels as well

But he did die upon Armageddon, as a new man was born from the ashes of hive Helsreach.

i will die on this world, i will die on armageddon.
Love the content Rho!
They are a pretty dynamic duo. I think they could give Dante and Mephiston a run for their money.
HELBRECHT - "Grimaldus: Die Well"
1:05 Strongest partner pair for heroes of the imperium Mephiston + Dante, easy.
My favorite though Kantor + Cortez.
Ridiculously based comment
Lord Hellblade & Cortez the Immortal
Cain and Jurgen!!!
Great video!! The Best Chapter!!

I've always thought the same thing.
Two VERY strong, alpha male personalities, take time to find their rhythm. But when that bond is made it is unbreakable and life changing.

These 2 didn’t always see eye to eye. Armageddon am I right.
It wasnt the Celestial Lions? Not Celestial Lights. Grimaldus fought along side the supposed last meme er if that chapter, Ekebe Dubaku.

It's pronounced Grimaldus...not Grumaldus...G...R...I...M.............GRIM.....stop saying like that wolf lord Rho... please!!!!
