Great vid Dave, I am a beginning farmer and fairly handy but watching your videos has brought my skill to a new level with tractors. I am currently learning how to split tractors for an upcoming job and it just helps seeing it done. Thanks
I am glad to hear that, that was truly my goal with these videos, to show people that is really isn't that difficult. Good luck and thanks for watching!
Many thanks for your inspiring and educational videos. Just did a transmission clutch change on my Case IH 895 4wd. Really not such a hard job once the loader is off and saved me a lot money! Great to see how your nice weather there allows you to work outside. Greetings from Iceland :)
It's been a while since you posted. I hope it was because you business has been so busy that you didn't have the time. I always enjoy your approach to solving these problems. '
Actually that is exactly what is going on, very busy with the parts side which is my main business, but I do have some projects of my own and another customer tractor coming soon. Thanks for watching!
There were quite a number of David Browns around here though they are getting pretty long in the tooth now and getting to be used up. I have repaired a couple but not a frequent brand. Thanks for watching!
Hello Dave. I am replacing the high pressure hydraulic pump on my JX 95. It is a Bosch 31 LPM pump. This is a open station tractor like in your video. The also list a 42LPM pump but says for non straddle mount JX95. I assume this is for the cab version and would not bolt up correctly on my tractor? This tractor has a front end loader and will not operate it unless the motor is ran a high rpm. Any help is appreciated. Thank you Mitchell Newlon
Dave ,great video. Im trying to diagnose a problem with my JX70. The tractor barely moves when the PTO is on. When I disengage PTO ,hang onto your hat! Tractor moves. I dont understand the inner workings of this
I don't think a dealer could have done it much quicker so I feel like he got a good deal and I'm happy to have had the experience. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video, Do you have any experience with the forward reverse shuttles on these tractors? Ours is very tight to shift and wondering what is the fix for this before we pull it all apart to look?
I cannot move the lever to shift the pto into gear on my JX75. The linkage under the tractor seems to be stuck. How can I lubricate the linkage so I can put the pto in gear? Or is this a more serious problem as described in your video? I use the pto a lot but tractor has been sitting all winter. Thanks very much for any help you can give me.
I suspect the pivot point for the lever has rusted. Try to follow it down and get some penetrating oil on there to loosen it up. You might also want to check the cable, it could be seized. Thanks for watching!
Hello Dave. Just recently purchased a 2003 JX 95. Two days ago when i parked it everything shifted fine. Today when i went to use it would not shift in either direction with the mechanical shuttle. With clutch pushed in it was a gear rake in either direction. The only thing i did different was engage and disengage the PTO before trying to shift to move the tractor. Is there just one clutch assembly that controls PTO and transmission? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
Yes it's a dual clutch like in this video. It is a 6 lever pressure plate, 3 levers for the transmission, 3 for the PTO. It's possible that when you used the clutch for the PTO that something broke in the pressure plate so now the transmission section won't release either.
@@CanadianRedneck15 I was looking in the service manual and it shows a couple tools to use with setting clearance on clutch fingers and lining tool. Do you have these and did you have to do this when replacing the complete assembly in this video? Where can I get the tools? Checked CaseIH and are very expensive through them. Thanks
Dave I have a bd154 diesel in a international 3414 backhoe. The clutch seems to be stuck. I was wondering if you could tell me if I can pull the engine out to change the clutch
Just bought a nice lil JX 70 4x4 with a 720 loader, the guy told me something is wrong with the clutch I'm supposed to go get it tomorrow It's only got 1500 hours on it still looks like new. Belonged to a grain elevator

I would replace go with the 31 LPM pump, I would be concerned that your tractor is not equipped to handle the extra flow. Thanks for watching!
Good vid Dave.👍

Great work! I wonder if jx90 is very different to this? I got one, and it is starting to sound like a clutch change needs to be happening quite soon.
I expect it would be pretty much the same. Thanks for watching!

Good day That was interesting. So what did anew pressure plate & clutch cost. My 574 I guess my splines were dry or rusted. Thanks
Pressure plate, disk and bearings were around $1100-1200. Pretty average for this Fiat style dual clutch. Thanks for watching!

Just curious where you are located? I'm in n.b. and have a 484 just wondering about parts and where best place to get them🤷♂️
I am in NB also, near Sussex. I can get you parts, my contact info is on my website www.chowntractorparts.com

What did you use to hold up the front end and roll it.
I used a floor jack. Thanks for watching!
On a jx55 did they have problems with steering. I lost all.steering
I don't know, I haven't had much to do with that series of tractors. Thanks for watching!
Hello, how much torque did you put on the screws that connect the engine to the transmission?
I didn't check just good and snug, maybe 75-80 ft/lbs. Thanks for watching!
Do you know where I might be able to get a seal kit and bearing for a orbital hand pump for on a international 3414
I expect your best bet would be a CaseIH dealer, you could also try at a hydraulic shop. Thanks for watching!
Did you have to replace the pilot bearing while doing the clutch?
Yes, always a good idea, especially at the price! Thanks for watching!
