I think you'll find yours will too, looks like a lot of carbon build up there and the emery cloth will cut through this.
Good enough video. Ref the grille. My aircon man, one of the top men in the UK who actually instructs main dealer technicians says don't bother. The grill doesn't stop everything and if you want to clear out it is difficult to do so. Redex. A complete waste of time. Run the car on 99 octane Shell V Power.
i recently sold my 986 boxster for a 997 s cab and was curious for what mods people do to these cars. i'm thinking the short shifter kit and an ecu tune are a must for sure. 30 more hp and tq for a relatively low price on an ECU tune. not sure what other performance stuff to do though.

I guess these aren't that cheap and easy or else you would have done them by the time you recorded the video. Do you have an AFTER video where you've actually implemented these mods on your car?
I’ve recently took a 30332 km 2007 Carrera cabrio and drove about only 500km owning it for 3 month (got an SUV for everyday use). And the first thing I’m going to do - Do Bluetooth retrofit (300-400usd) - Do restyling for the back end (lights and bumber) (400-500 usd each part in my country) - Aftermarket IMS (300 usd + works) - Do restyling from the front (?) As the next step may be getting the PCM 2 installed as well as new steering wheel, or maybe at that time I’d already switch to similar 991 or even maybe some other car (probably not) I personally like the pre-restyle looks better (for me those new stop lights look clumsy and artificial), but restyle makes it look much more fresh, modern and more expensive (thanks to diodes). Non-diode cars start looking outdated a bit these days ps. the car already has a nice wide stance (not a widebody though, being a base carrera) due to the turbo rims option factory installed.
Hi mate I have taken on a 997 4s and I have gravel rash on the front wheel arches at the bottom of the cills i got it stone garded and painted and it's just burned it of too the metal
Hey Satch, came across you when randomly looking at videos for the Golf GTI and realised you're a few streets away from me. If you need any help with your website or anything, feel free to get in touch! As always, great work on the videos ;)
Hi mate small world. Yeah I've spoken to a few people that randomly live close to me over the past few weeks. Thanks for your offer of help :-) & thanks for watching.
It certainly is! Knowing your local will also come in handy in the future, as I tend to buy the diagnostic hardware/software for whatever car I have, to save me having to cough up for dealer prices. I haven't had the chance to go through all of the videos yet (there are a few) but did you get rid of the GTI? I'm in the market for one, or an R32. Given the price you paid for yours, I was going to chew your ear to find out where you got it from?
No worries if you need anything just give me a shout. Worth their weight in gold if you work on your own cars. The GTI is sold yes, but i made a load of videos on the car and a few of them have not yet been published so will still have a few of them on the channel over the next weeks/months. I bought it privately down south and got a decent price for the condition of the car - you can most likely get a better deal buying privately but wont get any sort of warranty and need to check the car out fully before committing (as i'm sure you know)
Nice car and thanks for the ideas but the music is a bit annoying and loud. I would also be careful w the plastidip as it doesnt last long at all then looks really bad w chipped badges. Same with the tail light tint foil, it wont last long and will fade making the car look cheap. Its a Porsche man, the car speaks for itself, dont overdo it and please pronounce the name properly haha. Id be looking at different rims also as those dont do much for the car imo. The splitter, spacers and side markers make a huge difference and look nice.
Never change the wheel offset, less in a Porsche, that car is built on the track by factory, so please, spacers, normally it will break the studs and your wheel will fly by your side
Why talk about mods you haven’t done. I’d get rid of that ridiculous rear spoiler that will improve the look of your car more than all the other tacky mods you recommended. Also use high octane fuel rather than occasionally tipping unmeasured amounts of redex into your engine.
Perfect example of the type of guy you don’t want to buy a Porsche from. So overextended on car payments that he can’t afford proper upgrades, and is always looking for hacks and cheapest way.
You are exactly the sort of twattish Porsche owner that gets their car keyed. The guy is a genuine enthusiast not a dealer you fucking muppet.and what sort of fucking name is Jay?
Satch, you might like this idea for you Car. You are planning on installing a Porsche emblem I heard in your video. I made an offer for the Panamera Black Porsche Letters with a template for $60 on Ebay. I primed first and then painted several coats of Artic Silver which is the color of my Boxster and a few coats of clear. I used a small piece of 2500 wet sandpaper to color sand the clear smooth with the letter in place on the deck lid. With the template it's easy to installed the letters. Just get it taped down in the right place. However my Boxster S Emblem has a slight curve which I followed using a sliding carpenters square measuring from the bottom of the Boxster Emblem. Worked out great. Looks great and I have had many complements. One owner said it looks like a later model Boxster. You would not have to do any painting. Just tape down the template and stick on the Black Letters. You can see it here: 986forum.com/forums/boxster-general-discussions/49568-981-emblem-my-986-a-3.html
This car looks like it has Porsche sports exhaust. I think it's part and parcel with sports chrono. If you have sports exhaust you don't need a gundo hack. The gundo hack just replicates what the sports exhaust does when you turn it on. Your exhaust note should change when you put it in sport mode. If it doesnt you need to get the sports exhaust valves looked at. The sports exhaust really does sound awesome compared to the none sports version. You wont have a seperate button for it as it comes on with sport mode. If your looking for a 911 id try to get hold of one with sports exhaust. You can usually tell by the exhaust tips. Sports has twin each side. The outer being larger than The inner.
