- My half-assed attempt at combining the (lousy) introduction scene from the movie with the (not too shabby) animation depicting the same event. I read that some folks might want to see it.
Colors and camera angles had to be adjusted, of course, and I even added a couple of 'new' older music clips, to make it feel more 'Bionicle'.
NOTE: This is just a short clip to see how well (or bad) the web-animation and the movie animation mesh. My intent was not to berate the scene from the movie (not saying I liked it either), nor to make a re-fined version (although you are free to like it better than the original).

I never understood how Mata Nui was hurled from Aquas Magna, traveled past dozens of planets, then passes by Aquas Magna again on his way to Bara Magna.
I know right? That is weird.
It feels like this movie forgot about how the world's are set up in bionicle.
The animation studio didn't exactly know how the planets were laid out.
But you can't blame them; I don't think anyone knew at the time.
This movie seems to depict Aqua Magna as a moon of Bara Magna, but that isn't the case: Aqua Magna is a separate planet, and the moons around Bara Magna are just regular moons.
So it's conceivable that the Ignika travelled past other planets in that solar system. (That's still a lot of planets though.)
Also, this movie shows Aqua Magna as having land, which isn't true. So maybe we should just ignore the movie altogether when trying to figure out locations.

@@thejerminator877 First of all, the moons aren't "normal", they were the result of the core wars causing the planet of spherus mangus to break into three pieces, one being aqua magna, another bota magna, and the main (and largest) being bara magna. Honestly I find it more likely that mata nui crashed on a water planet and the mask of life guided him back to bara magna, but that's not what the serials or comics say.

You call it half-assed but here I am, 10 years later, digging up old Bionicle stuff and specifically remembered THIS video and sought it out. I remembered it from childhood. Great job, I remember this as the true intro anyways!
While I don't mind the original opening, (I am a hardcore Bionicle fan) I do like this version.
Since in russian dub Mata Nui has same voice as Optimus Prime (movies)
Imagine if Mata Nui was originally voiced by Peter Cullen
That’s actually mind blowing. I’m actually imagining Optimus prime as Michael Dorn.
Movie clips: from the movies (ripped from the DVD),
other clips: there is a torrent file named "Bionicle videos" that has an impressive amount of clips. The guy named ShieldOfAges has them here on UA-cam.
There's a bunch of files in MNOG's matanui folder, beginning with "music", "SFX" , and "sound". Browse through those.
As for the movie sound effects, I simply opened the movie files in my video editor, and selected the clips containing the sounds and music I needed. But you can also use sound recording software to record them while playing the movie (I have been using ACE-HIGH MP3 recorder for years because I'm too lazy to search for others freely downloadable recorders, but there you go).
If only Nathan Furst could have done the music.
The music works well when mata nui rises.
I remember this being my only experience with Bionicle lore as a kid and wondered what the point of this scene was since it takes place far away from it.

I am contemplating on making a refined version once, the actual "thing" (not simply a test like this one), and I will try to put your observations to good use.
Even though I don't know how Metru Nui would fit into the whole thing (seeing as these scenes take place in Mata Nui's chest area), perhaps in a bird's eye view shot. Hmm, wait! I think I have just the idea!

I think I was happier just to see the av-matoran in the old trilogy style over the rest of the movie.
This is much better than the original intro of the Movie :T
The soundtrack, the sound editing, all that is a big masterpiece.

I wonder why the Lego Group doesn't use any of the songs from the Bionicle Flash episodes in any of their cgi movies?
Whoa, that was great. I would've been cool if you used scenes from both BIONICLE 2 LoMN and from BIONICLE 4 TLR. That would make the Matoran capturing scene even better.

This was absolutely amazing. Minor errors aside, this was very well done. What really made the first three films memorable for me was the music, and I was very disappointed with the music in The Legend Reborn it lacked the emotion that Nathan Furst captured so well in the first three. It is great to see that you merged the two animations together and included music from the first films, which makes it that much more nostalgic and epic.

Whoa, teridax is a racist toward av-matoran by, traping their hands into holes, traping them in tubes, and traping them in rooms, just because of their different colors from the sets.
How is it possible by flying threw aqua magna and coming back ?

I actually prefer this to the film version I think it’s better
