They were still working on the McDonalds when I left, it looks so different now. There is no place like Alaska, Alaska will always be home to me. 907 all the way. The people make Alaska great. Remember when Alaska had three time zones. I still get a kick out of asking people in the lower 48 if they take Alaskan money, some really don’t know. Love your home more each time I notice something different. Always a pleasure.

I am in Louisiana, from New Orleans, but my sister and brother in law have been in Alaska 41 years now, and wouldnt live anywhere else....they attend a great church, praised their children there, and built a beautiful home there.....and heaven knows I've tried to get them to move back to Louisiana, now that they are retired! But, no way, will they ever move back. Alaska is home to them , and I've been there three times visiting for a few weeks at a time.....they live in Wasilla. And it's beautiful, admit let's you know when you see Alaska, there really is a God, and his creation is amazing! But it's just not home to me! Lol, but every time I visit, I thoroughly enjoy myself! Glad I discovered your channel! And will be following your great Alaska adventures! God bless and keep you and your family!

This is my first time to ever comment on UA-cam, but my wife and I want you to know that you are an inspiration to us! We talked about moving to Alaska for 20 years, you and your family helped to encourage us to do it. I admire your openness on your faith more than anything! One thing that is stood out to me the most is Family that you guys mentioned earlier, I have a family living up there now and I'm currently living in the lower 48 in the southern state with the feeling of loneliness without a family and having to put up with the triple digits heat temperature and tornado here. The more I watch you guys videos, the more convincing for me to begin the new life up there in Alaska. I really miss 20 hours of daylight in the summer and the warm coffee in the wintertime plus the family close by. I think your reason for living in AK for the sake of family is the best reason ever. I'm so surprised to hear the internet is bad. Without it, your living like I did back in the day when mass communication was the payphone and western union. Fairbanks and North Pole are like a small town and the people are much more friendly and decent. Army men were treated good back in the day so we got along with Civilians well. Where I'm at now, you can have neighbors for a few years and never meet them; they don't want to met you or anyone. If you love nature, Alaska is for you Which I happen to be. Your lifestyles and homes conforms to the land; very relaxed. Its so much more modern now; I loved it then so I would definitely love it now. You would be crazy to leave! Oh, what a joy. I am always just blown away as I watch your vlogs, the love, the respect, the closeness of your family, just move me to happy tears. Your children are happy, and they have a childhood that so many of us are in awe of. I think a lot about what it would be like to live in a community like yours. To have that feeling of freedom, to breathe, and know that is where God has put you. Where I live, in the housing authority, I shouldn't even put a nail in the wall for pictures, because I am charged for each one. Can't paint a room, nope, many rules to follow. But, I love the snow, and that is why I moved to Nebraska so that I could experience it more than once every decade. It doesn't snow much in Texas, ya know. Snow is peaceful to me, and I can watch it fall for hours.

Hi guys, we live in a village, l was brought up in the Yorkshire dales, beautiful valleys and moors. I understand the importance of unison with other people. When you're have that in your blood it can't be changed. Couldn't live in a town. They're great for shopping but then the great part is to return to a peaceful place we call home. We live on a lane with green belt at the bottom of the lane. We're very lucky. Enjoy your home. Thanks for a great video 😊

We’d love to see a farmhouse montage!!!! We’re building a farmhouse here in SC. What’s your favorite things about it now and what would you do different? It is so beautiful! I love the down lights on the outside!!!!! The floor looks like what we chose as for color choice.

Congratulations on ONE YEAR! I live in Minnesota so I understand the extreme long winters. Last year everything closed for two days due to -55 temp and that didn't count the windchill and anything above that we go to work. The kids still go to school even with a foot of snow falling. I look forward to seeing your garden next year. I would love to see an updated house and town tour, and even maybe tell us if there is anything you would change in the new house now that you have been there one year.

Visiting Alaska has been my favorite vacation of all time. I’ve been fortunate to travel to 10 countries in Europe, to Hawaii, to western Caribbean countries, to Mexico, even to Punta Cana in the DR at the same time all those horrible happenings were occurring, but yet my 11 days in Alaska far exceeds them all. We went to Denali and inland Alaska and then cruised the normal visitor ports of Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan. I definitely NEED to come back to your beautiful State. It’s so very different from where I have lived all my life in New Jersey outside the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

From Alaska. Most people have moved to Ak. Thanks. That makes a huge difference. For example: it might take 3 years to build the house of your dreams. Have you heard of tire socks to replace tire chains for your vehicle during 5 months of winter? Have far in travel time are Safeway and Costco? How long does it take to get a Vitamix blender?

I ❤ LOVE ❤ Alaska. This January will be my 5th visit in about 4 years. I went to Fairbanks/North Pole in February about 2 years ago. People thought I was nuts. You are so right about the beauty. I have been to Anchorage twice and this January will be my second visit to the capitol Juneau. On both visits to Anchorage we went down both sides of the Kenai Peninsula. One reason I enjoy your vids is because it is like I have never left. Peace and God's blessings be upon you and your household.

I visited Santa House for the first time too! I was also excited to see that North Pole has a Ben Franklin!!

Alaska was absolutely beautiful when I visited in September. The fall colors were gorgeous. My pictures didn't do them justice.
It was truly amazing how different the different areas of Alaska were. Anchorage really did feel so different than Fairbanks which are the big cities, and Chena Hot Springs is really out there in the boonies away from everything, lol. I don't think I would be able to handle the darkness and extreme cold of the winter but the September weather was great and dark enough to see the Northern lights.
It's wonderful your mom is able to rent from you and get a bigger place with a garage. 😊

Bring it on, Costco. I think Alaska is pretty cool. I wouldn’t mind living there. I like snow, and cold. Here it rains and never stops for weeks sometimes. We get snow. But it never always happens. Yes but you adjust to your climate. You know how to live it. Which is very impressive. I think it’s stunning especially when you put the drone up and we can see the beautiful views.. one year in your beautiful house. Time flies doesn’t it !

Yes, of course, we wanna see the 30 minute Costco haul! A year already? What a busy time it has been. I think I would live in Alaska if it weren't for my grandkids all being here in Washington. Family wins over location at this point in my life, but I've been obsessed with Alaska for many years. Lived in Juneau a couple years, and have made several trips up to the Kenai Peninsula and Denali. If I could just get the whole family on board...they would all love it too. The values and sense of community and independence (outside the big city) is like no other. So for now, I can live vicariously through the internet! Thank you for being there and sharing your journey through life!

Love that you think of us as family 😊
Funny that you ask the question why do you live there about now. Here in Australia where I live, it's got and flat, and about this time of year heading into summer I also ask why do I live here???? But yes, family is here and is a small country town where you know so many people, and I love that. But the cold, and dark and snow is selling Alaska to me at the moment 😁😉
