While the park he was in isn't exactly a dangerous place, there are plenty of places in Moline, IL (where this took place) and surrounding cities that it would not be a bad idea to carry a bat or other weapon for self defense with you.
@@SM-si5 it’s not illegal, but when an officer approaches you to ask you why you’re in the park after it’s closed and you immediately become aggressive with all those weapons within reach, there’s plenty of reason for the officer to ask you to exit the vehicle while he deals with you. I agree, if he was more "courteous" and kept on repeating/explaining, the comment section would have been overflowing with people complaining about why didn't he just drag his arse out of the car. @IrrelevantInformation There's plenty of comment here accusing the cop of escalating
Tremendous professionalism from the first officer. Get the fuck out of the fucking car. There's a fucking sign right over there that says when the fucking park closes. Get the fuck out of the fucking truck. Excellent de-escalation skills and an impressive vocabulary.
Cop has a personal vendetta against jeep owners. This is the basic training on what NOT to do. Say "sir the park closed at 11pm. finish eating and then move along". Drive away. Watch from a distance and let them have 30 mins or so.If they are still there, then confront them again the last time. Going to the point of having a dog take out someone just for having an authority complex and yelling "get the fuck out of the fucking car" like they are a terrorist in a movie is way overblown.
How old are you, that you are afraid of going out after 9PM, 75 years old? Do you know how ridiculous your comment sounds to the entire modernized Western world?
The so-called police officers need some serious de-escalation training, this was a civil infraction at best! Using spotlights directly in the eyes is total aggression! Remind me, never to travel to Wisconsin and eat fast food in a city park 8 minutes after it's closed. This is one seriously pathetic Police Department with virtually zero proper training.
Police aren’t supposed to de-escalate until they have them in custody. Did you watch the entire video before commenting? They explain exactly why they have their lights shining directly on him. He was violating the city ordinance the very second it was 11. Go to Taco Bell 8 minutes after they close and see what they say after you tell them “it’s only 8 minutes after”
@@B_COOPER Umm have you ever interacted with the real world whatsoever? The cop is NEVER supposed to escalate a situation and needs to do the complete opposite of that, which he didnt and no the average cop would simply tell you to leave and wouldn't flash their lights all over your face, they will tell you multiple times to leave since it's too late and their closed instead of threatening them with a dog over what again? eating taco bell in a parking lot? Just scan his plates for a warrant and tell him to leave, which he was going to do. Believe it or not most people including cops don't think this is that big of a deal and the dude clearly wanted trouble and should be putting his resources into something bigger than a dude eating a taco
Shining the light at somebody is absolutely *not* aggressive. Becoming immediately combative with the officer as soon as you approached *is* aggressive. Doing so when there are no less than three weapons easily visible is just downright stupid.
@@aaa-hs3it did you watch the entire video? If the guy had been cooperative and apologetic, he would have been on his way with a warning. If all you’re doing is finding a place to eat, why would you be so aggressive and try to leave as soon as you’re approached by a police officer? None of this was about him just eating his Taco Bell there. All of it was about his behavior.
Is closing a park to prevent rampant drug use and criminal activity really that petty? Maybe you should go live somewhere more free. You know, like. . . .um. . .you know. . .uh. . .hmm. . .
@HannadayFLO Restrictions are fine, as long as they're only enforced on "bad guys."* And it's just unfortunate that the "bad guys" don't go around with a sign on their head. 😂 *And as long as they don't take anyone's guns away.
Definitely a case of overreaction on the police man. I would have to say abusive power. There’s no reason for him to have the spotlight in this man’s eyes and then when he complains about it, he’s six his dog on him. This is why people don’t like the police.
Have to disagree with you. There's every reason to have the light on and shining into the car in the guys eyes. An awful lot of people misuse closed parks to sell or take illegal drugs, to conduct illicit assignations, and/or to batter each other. The cop who has to interrupt these situations needs eyes-on and a way to reduce the efficacy of retaliation, so the light is essential. It is a non-lethal means of elevating the safety of all involved. This guy was eating tacos. Someone else could have been pretending to eat tacos to cover for an interrupted illegal action. A reasonable person eating tacos is far less likely to get upset about an understandable light than a person disguising illegal actions or intent whom the light might expose. The cop had every reason for experiencing increasing levels of agitation. Since he had a canine, that was the tool he used-- perhaps not the right tool for the job, but when you have a hammer, even a screw looks like a nail. Not an overreaction.
Sometimes the police officers escalate these encounters unnecessarily. They guy was eating his “lunch” in a peaceful place without any problems UNTIL the police arrived. Or so we saw.

I noticed the footage only began when they wanted. This is to much. I remember when America use to be a free country.
