I'm an old school beat maker. But dope as all get out. Every beat different. Still using 8track , haven't caught up with the timed. But my beats not the norm. Love sampling, but original beats, off the chain ⛓️. I'm learning from you young brothers. Keep up the good info.
SoundExchange is the biggest disappointment for me personally, recently I withdrawed my registration after 3 years with 0 profit. Even I had 900 registered works and some collab works with some U.S. artists and performances. Intersting thing that after closing your account they send you a message like this: "Please note that SoundExchange is required under U.S. law to collect sound recording performance royalties for all sound recordings performed pursuant to the statutory licenses at 17 U.S.C. Secs. 112(e) and 114. Therefore, SoundExchange will still collect these digital performance royalties, but will no longer distribute payments directly to this account."
Record labels have started to move away from the LOD. Has there been any talk of SoundExchange doing so, as well? They seem to really want to help indie artists so maybe they won't... just curious on your thoughts
