    I tried this but my dal got spilled to rice! And there was some charring as well. What to do?

    • @instantpotfavorites
      @instantpotfavorites  2 роки тому +2

      Oh no ..I think the reason is you added more water & the water spilled out ..due to that there is less water to cook & dal burnt at the bottom

    • @instantpotfavorites
      @instantpotfavorites  2 роки тому +3

      So make sure you add water as I said & if your pan size is less reduce the quantity of water & dal ..

      Hi ..you waited until pressure released on its own ?may I know what kind of rice you used ?

    • @lakshmineelima2124
      @lakshmineelima2124 Рік тому

      Yes..I waited until full pressure released on its own iam using raw rice white .it took nearly 22 min for me to cook rice ..

    • @instantpotfavorites
      @instantpotfavorites  Рік тому

      Optimal time for rice cooking is 5-12 mins depends on the type of rice you use ..basmati rice will get cooked in 5 mins & parboiled rice like even uncle Ben brand will be cooked in 12 mins with natural pressure release ..raw rice should be cooked max by 10 mins ..

      Try changing rice like basmati /other bran d & see to confirm ..

      I cook my rice for 15 min with natural release. I am using long grain white rice. Also the ratio of 1 c rice and 1.25-1.5 water I find is best. Good luck. I have also found that PIP takes longer cooking time than putting rice in main pot. I love cooking in stainless steel bowls so I only have water in the bottom of the IP. Easier clean up. Hope this helps.
