"I will stop at nothing to protect my client! I don't care who I make an enemy of!" One of my favourite lines in the entire game. It's so awesome watching Ryunosuke grow from an anxious college student to a confident lawyer.
I love that Ryunosuke is so in your face when he slams his desk! It almost makes him look like a wild beast fighting relentlessly for his survival, and on the opposite side his objection stance is perfectly composed and full of confidence
When I first heard that modern Phoenix Wright games were going to be in 3D, I was disappointed because I feared that the CG models wouldn't be able to properly able to capture the over-the-top energy of the character breakdown animations. I'm very glad that I was wrong, as the 3D animations are amazing!
@@Jadefire1010 same thought occured to me too. they modelled and animated them wonderfully. so much so that i feel sometimes that they're better tham 2d sprites
I loved that turnabout. Graydon was one of my favorite characters. I know he was a villain, but he was still amazing. And a genius to pull off that idea with the music box
And despite his crime is despicable, his motive is very relatable. He was born in the lowest condition and still come to study and find a good job (at least for this era, i guess) but his past traumatized him and he couldn’t turned the page. So yeah, he kinda deserved what happened to him but anyone, at this era, would have probably tried the same opportunity than him. He was just unlucky his father had to be murdered by Megundal, causing him to take his revenge on him and by accident killing the pawnbroker who just tried to defend himself. Fate can really be cruel and this case is a proof of that.
I love how Skulkin is listening and reacts accordingly to the events unfolding in front of him. At 3:08 he's calm and then his jaw drops when Barok tells Greg he won't stop anything
Everyone is talking about fair means and foul and i don't who I make an enemy of But that slow pan around the music box to show Ashley's and Gregson's shocked faces is the best part of this breakdown, one of the better choreagraphed moments in an ace attorney game
God, 2:18 this moment was so freaking good! I replayed this scene while watching it for like four times the other night! Just thinking about what Gina must have been thinking about someone refusing to abandon her like this filled me with so many good and wholesome feelings. So many warm and undescribable feelings, like happiness, and smugness, and proudness, etc. This moment was awesome, and these the two "Phoenix Wright" 3DS games do not hold a single candle to the Great Ace Attorney. The main series really fell off after refusing to build on what Apollo Justice's game set up. Ryunosuke is awesome here, and I'm so glad there is a video out there depicting specifically this moment.
I feel like it's also 2 crucial moments that are spoilers for the second game: First, I believe this is the first moment Barok van Zieks was forced to accept Ryunosuke's character, and in fact saw in him what he saw in Genshin Asogi all those years ago. A Japanese man with an unwavering spirit and a desire to uncover the truth no matter what the personal cost, who had integrity above all else and only desired to reveal the truth. Of course, given who he thinks Genshin was at the time, he doesn't come to fully respect Ryunosuke until after TGAA 2-5, but I think this is truly the first time he saw a glimmer of that in Ryunosuke. Secondly, I think this was part of the reason Gregson took Gina in. Sure, it mentions multiple times that Sholmes strongarmed Gregson into letting Gina become a apprentice detective on the force, but Gregson has stood his ground against Sholmes multiple times and we know from Gina's words that he took good care of her and was kind and caring to her. I think Gregson realized he had gone too far as the brains behind the Reaper. His desire to keep secrets and do shady things for to the British government, more specifically Stronghart, nearly led to the conviction of an innocent girl, rather than the "justified" killings he had been a part of thus far. I think it planted the seed in him to ultimately distance himself from the Reaper and flee Great Britain. I think that was part of his motivation for later taking her in and trying to see her succeed, while also not involving her in his more dark and troubling side. She was super close to him and he was even going to take her to France with him to flee. She meant something to him.
Spoilers I agree with this for the most part, but I must ask. If Gregson was distancing himself from the reaper, then why was he willing to kill Jigoku?
@@anthonym9977spoiler Because he knows they would target him to shut him up as he has too much information. He had to keep working with them until he had moved to France otherwise he would be paranoid that there could be a killer after him around any corner
Gregson gave Daily Vigil enough money for his wife to live pretty well off when Gregsons actions someway caused Vigils downfall. He definitely cares about those he wrongs
@@anthonym9977 Perhaps he simply had no choice than to do what Vortex wanted. He goes too far as he probably believed at this time everything he did was for the sake of justice. Perhaps he think Jigoku was dangerous too at this point and tried to eliminate him for the sake of justice. We will probably never know his concrete motivations at this exact moment but Gregson didn’t seem to be a bad guy, just someone who lost himself in his desire of justice.
apollo with the chords of steel ryuunosuke with the balls of steel honestly i like him more in this scene rather than in resolve where sholmes took the spotlight
Well... Sholmes masterminded it, and used super futuristic technology to wire the Queen. However, Ryunosuke was vital, and is just a little step below Sholmes in intelligence, as he gets to the same conclusions/deductions, just slower.
Yeah but he was only vital yet in this scene he was "monumental". I see this as his "moment" and honestly fits the title of the last case a lot more "the resolve of ryunosuke naruhodo". Also sholmes's technology leap out of nowhere was a bit of a stretch ngl.
@@johnxina7496 I agree, Naruhodo's peak was during The Unspeakable Story. Actually, I've been thinking that a way to fix Resolve's ending, is that instead of just demoting Stronghart, the Queen should have let a Jury decide what kind of justice they want, and for Ryunosuke to convince the Jury. This would fit more with the theme of the evil judiciary that could not be trusted (the gallery was supporting Stronghart lol).
I get that they punished Naruhodo for coming up with the idea, but Van Zieks and the judge did nothing to stop him. Hell, I'm pretty sure this counts as encouraging him despite the theory that the disks held government secrets
He was actually punished because of defending mcgilded despite him being guilty. This had, surprisingly, nothing to do with the Government secrets when it comes to Naruhodo being banned from the courtroom, which I find hilarious. However, what I’m confused by is how he’s punished for defending mcgilded DESPITE SUGGESTING HE WAS GUILTY AT THE END OF 1-3. The judge even DENIED Naruhodo, and even van zeiks, from going further as the result had been defined as non-guilty. Either way, 1-3 is a turning point for Naruhodo’s arc, so I can’t really fault it.
@@loafofgodlybread9225 That really is another thing. I questioned Mcgilded's innocence throughout the entire chapter. And the judge was the one who decided he didn't need the jury's opinion when he cast his verdict
