"Why should I pull any punches? I will make any enemies I have to, in order to protect my client!"
That's when Naruhodou became my favourite attorney in the series.
He litteraly said "F*ck you, If you dont wanna do it, I will go forceful way!"
@@somacruz10 More impressively,
*SPOILERS*
He responded with that to a police inspector that was threatening him with THE MIGHT OF THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT. Naruhodou would make the British government his enemy if it meant protecting his client. Clearly he said it to push through his claim, but it takes some balls to muster up that retort.
he fights against the whole british empire for a tsundere european loli
not even marvel and dc heroes do that
Spoiler
He just blackmail the police in the freaking court room
"As long as i stand here...I will stop at nothing to find the truth."
"DAMN IT TO HELLLLL!!"
“Let’s not forget, Inspector, that you-a Scotland Yard officer-leaked confidential case details to a witness!
That you continue to lie to the court! And all because, by fair means or foul, you’re determined to do your duty.
Well…by fair means or foul, I’m prepared to do mine!”
And Van Zieks pouring out a glass right after Ryuunosuke said that was honestly the PERFECT response!
It was his way of showing respect for Ryunosuke's iron will and resolve to protect and save his client from being unjustly "thrown under the bus", even if he has to stand his ground against the government itself!
@@twilighttiger2368 Van Zieks joining in on the "by fair means or foul" thing was so raw.
''Inspector, you should know my methods by now.
I'm a prosecutor. ...I'm no Scotland Yard puppet.
In this courtroom, my duty is to the law.
So let me propose a toast.
To uncovering the truth... By fair means or foul.''

hell yeah, this is the great theme turnabout
THIS THEME CAPTURES T H E MOMENT OF CORNERING THAT DAMN WITNESS THAT HAS BEEN MAKING YOU GO MAD- IT’S SO TRIUMPHANT AND POWERFUL AND ENERGETIC I LOVE IT SO MUCH

My favorite moment with this music is
(Spoilers for the second game)
When you're cornering Seishiro Jigoku, and he keeps trying to make excuses, but Ryunosuke *and* Kazuma shoot down his lies, much like with Phoenix and Edgeworth
I remember listening to this a long time back before this game was localized and thought it was one of the weakest Pursuit themes. But then as I played the game, they made the brilliant choice to have this play towards the end of a case, so when you do finally hear it, it makes it all that much more satisfying. Awesome tune!
It plays when you know you've won, it's only natural that its triumphant
yes, that is the most perfectly timed Pursuit and most epic than all except Professor Layton's I would say.
Tbh I think it's the best pursuit theme and that's why it sucked at how rarely it was used in game 1. It doesn't play at all for case 2 and 3. You hear it during the opening case and then not again until case 4. And even then, it only plays once per case. By contrast, Ryunosuke has 2 objection themes that played like 3 times per case - for each objection theme. The pursuit theme is way underutilized in the Great Ace Attorney, and the objection themes play far too often.
Same happened with apollo pursuit with me lol
I still think the Objection theme of this game sounds more like a Pursuit theme compared to this
...Through fair means or foul.
*pours into hallowed chalice*
Fun Fact Adventure of the Unbreakable Speckled Band and Adventure of the Runaway Room are currently the only cases in the entire series where they don't play pursuit.
i can see why after finishing the first game
Wait, does Overtaken ever play in Turnabout Succession?
@@P1r4n It does
Spoilers for AJ:AA
It plays in first trial when Apollo figures out Vera is the forger
And also cornered plays in the past
When Ryunosuke said "I will become a Great Ace Attorney" I knew this game was going to be great
And then proceeded to attorney all over the courtroom
and then susato proceeds to yell "I will become a Great Ace Attorney Two: Resolve" and susato toss'd all over the courtroom
His first OBJECTION was great not gonna lie
and when he finally gets the proper desk slam sound effects
@@willowbartholomew5640 They teased us so hard, they knew what we expected and kept it to themselves right until the final moment, that's the moment I knew this series had pulled me back in
Chronologically, it's the first pursuit theme
And boy what a good theme
I guess. I mean this was in the 19th century, way before Mia or Phoenix were ever born.
It’s far from good. It’s not even catchy or fast, things Pursuit themes need.
@@jaxsterminator8634 I'd say you're objectively wrong, but respecting each others opinions is important on the internet. I do disagree though, catchiness is subjective and the pursuit themes don't have to be fast at all. This song does the job just fine - its loud, bold fanfare not only stays true to the game's olden/Japanese theme but also generates some much needed hype while you play. It is also played quite minimally, at only the most important , triumphant parts of the game. This cements the song as a great pursuit by making the player realise that ryunnosuke has finally managed to do the bad guy in. It tells us that we've won.
@@dgcfgvvgb6555 They DO have to be fast. That’s why PLVSAA’s pursuit theme sucks and so does this one.
@@dgcfgvvgb6555 Pursuit themes need to play often, not like this one that plays once every other chapter. Fast is triumphant, it’s not loud nor bold.

OFFICIAL LOCALISATION ANNOUNCED, LET'S GO
Accordions are super underrated and add a ton of flavor to compositions. I really wish more game soundtracks used them :0
I agree, definitely surprisingly good and fit the game as well.
I have a feeling you'd love the soundtracks for the Professor Layton games. Those games have accordions galore!
@@magentasky234 thanks for the recommendation! I'll have to check it out
Fairly positive it's a bandoneon. EastWest Gypsy virtual instrument library to be specific.
I’ve loved this track for so long, being able to finally hear it in game, in its original context was so satisfying and one of the best experiences I’ve had playing an AA game. I also love the direct inspiration from the Layton games with the instrumentation it’s so gorgeous and amazing to have this game find new life here in the west
I’ve only gotten to the part where you hear it cornering the first culprit and it felt like a triumph in a way I haven’t felt for a pursuit theme since the first game, maybe
This is the song that makes you tap "A" just a little harder than usual.
Honestly, when I first played this game, I was expecting a weird spin off, but after reaching the final case of the first volume and this absloute master piece hit me hard I realized how wrong I was.
I mean listening to this made me so emotional (which is rare) and it was so rewarding with Ryunosuke's development as a lawyer.I can't wait to start the next volume!
Update : I finished the second volume ,and WOW ,this game is worth every penny !
SO REAL AND TRUE
It’s not fast and energetic
It’s heroic
The song you'll almost never hear.

"TRAITOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR!"

This makes me feel so triumph and determined. And believe me, I rarely ever feel that way. That's how you know you've got a good composer on your hands.
Top 10 songs proven by science that cause your brain to release the most dopamine
In other words... THIS IS SUCH A COOL SONG!
I played through DGS1 with the fan translation, so I figured I would be more okay replaying through it in the official release but dang, case 5 got me even more mad the second time around.
Spoilers
Fricking Milverton took the most infuriating pages from Quercus Alba's playbook ("I accept that if I am found to be lying here, it would incriminate me." *immediately proven to be lying* "Oh, but this still doesn't incriminate me as the killer!"), and Gregson being a massive prick when a literal child's life is on the line... I was practically rooting for Ashley to strangle him by the end.
Gregson put country first because it was his duty, doesn't mean he liked it. And he tries to make amends by training her and taking her under his wing later, yeah he says Holmes twisted his arm but I am pretty sure he would've accepted even if he didn't.
@@semillakan6 I agree he probably just used that as an excuse to not seem too soft
