The song was written about a girlfriend of lead singer Mark Slaughter. He came back from a tour and went looking for her, only to find out she had passed away and the funeral was the next day. Their power ballad, It was on their 1989 debut record ,'Stick It To Ya'
The song the fans were singing at the beginning is one of their other big hits, 'Up All Night'
Her name was Cindy.
That voice as he goes into the chorus is so badass he could be singing the phone book as they say.
Ed, Launie, Bobby……Fly to the Angels…. Can’t let you go……..Love this song! Love Mark!
There were a lot of great 80s hair bands, some had a few hits then split others kept on going. Autograph, Bon Jovi, Cinderella, Def Leppard, Firehouse, Great White, Guns-n-Roses, Jackyl, Motley Crue, Poison, Quiet Riot, Ratt, Skid Row, Slaughter, Steelheart, Tesla, Twisted Sister, Van Halen, Warrent, Whitesnake, Winger to name a few. Keep up the great reactions 👍
I'm grateful that you checked the song out, this song has taken a deeper hit on me since my wife Kerri Fleming passed on June 7th.
🤗
I’m so sorry for your loss! May she Fly to the Angels. 🙏💓
@@julieford8788 thank you
So sorry for your loss sir!!prayers to your family!!
@@LisafromFl Thank you
Slaughter was the band i listen when I quit highschool. Love their style, love the airband era 👌 Tx for the react 🤟
YES YES YES!!! Such an amazing band. And a great ballad. I love when a rock band slows it down and hits us with shock and awe 💘
Slaughter was my favorite hair band in the 90's
Mine too
i love this song great reaction
I forgot how GOOD this song is. Takes me back. Love your reactions! I resonate with many of them, especially your Disturbed reactions as I am like you were and am discovering them for the first time.
Slaughter have many wonderful songs, this was one of the most populars but listen to more.
He has one of the most powerful and strongest voices I have ever heard . This song was very popular.
Wow, this song was a flashback to my Senior Year in High School (1990)--hahaha. This was released near the end of the "Hair Bands" Era of the 1980s right before the Grunge Era took over the airwaves. I just remember hearing Slaughter, Warrant, Black Crowes, & Motley Crue being played by someone somewhere at school between classes.
Lovely reaction! I haven't heard this in years.
Fantastic song me and my girlfriend always loved it and when she was hit and killed by a drunk driver in 1992 I had it played at her funeral. Oh by the way have you ever heard Heaven by Warrant? Or My Immortal by Evanescence the track 4 piano & vocal only version from their album Fallen.
I love that song, always have. Could you, would you please please please listen to Steelheart; "I'll Never Let You Go" and " She's Gone". The range of Mili's voice will amaze you, and you'll love the songs. Please, and thank you.
I agree, BOTH of those songs should be on this channel imo.
@@dalefleming6427 thank you 😀
@@lisaclark2643 no problem, I love those songs, especially She's Gone, for me I could always hear the self inflicted pain in his voice.
@@dalefleming6427 I'm very sorry to hear you lost your wife. I know there's really no word's that make one feel better. Only time. I myself and my family are dealing with the fact my father was murdered in February. The people were caught the 2nd week after they mutilated him, and we go to the 1st one's trial August 1st.
@@lisaclark2643 ewwwww, I am SO sorry for what you're going through, mine wasn't that bad. Kerri and I got to say we loved each other and goodbye, and I held her hand that last 8 hours or so of her life.
I never heard the song or heard of the group before, at first I wasn’t keen on it but I listened to the whole song and read what it was about and had much more appreciation for the song
We played this at my son's Memorial. It definitely gave me some peace.....such a beautiful song!!!💔💔🎶🎼🎵🎤🎸🎙🥁
If you like 80s sound and country music, listen to Cinderella Long Cold Winter or Heartbreak Station albums! Bluesy Rock
I'm so happy you did this!!
Great reaction!! 🙂
It is from 1990, BTW.
Please check out Steelheart “SHES GONE” unplugged
If you want to hear vocals that will blow your mind
You should check out the song "Mean Girls" by Leanna Crawford. This song stuck with me because I was bullied in school.
Written in the 80s released in the 90s.
I was happy when grunge took over the music scene accept for a few exceptions ie: AC/DC, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Guns & Roses, etc.....never a huge fan of glam rock/big hair bands. A few songs here and there but overall I'll take grunge anyday :)
First time my azz.
