Lowering fuel Literally changed the game for me. It makes such a massive difference. I take the absolute BARE minimum and use fuel management if I get low
Been doing this before there were even fox 3’s if people actually managed there gas the right way instead of tryna be full ab the entire game you would do a lot better 😭
@@thatboydre7585 so real. People wanna burn all the time no matter what lol. My favorite thing is letting someone chase me while at corner speed, watching them zoom past cause they didn’t manage closure, and smoking them, it’s so funny lol
The fox-3s are most lethal on the deck against targets who aren’t low enough to multipath and aren’t setup to notch. I like to fire at 6-8km. That being said the better way imo is to fire them at altitude as it preserves your airframe and leaves less to chance allowing you to win more. Notching works at all altitudes against the missile radars and chaff is extremely strong. Notch instead of multipathing. I like to apply cranks to make it harder to get sniped by phoenixes. Do not stay high if there are targets below you. If a jet on the deck fires up at you from 10km you will die. I like to fly at 6-8km and fire at 20km (most missiles go active at 16km.) These missiles hace a very high probability of kill. Against single targets I will engage at 30km however expect the missiles to likely miss. I only fire multiple missiles at targets closely bunched together able to be tracked with the narrow tws mode. And even then due to terrain jets will likely evade and notch in different directions and you will only be able to track one.
I should also mention a lot of misses are from locking onto enemy missiles instead of airframes. Or firing at enemies your teammates will kill first. Even if you have an altitude advantage friendlies in knife-fighting (kamikaze)distance will have their weapons arrive first. Be mindful of that.
After trying to use TWS and failling so repeatedly with the SU-27SM I started using the R77 just like the R27. PD to track enemies and guide the misile the closest posible to the enemy, and if needed to defend or do other thing, then I will turn off the track and let the FOX 3 do his thing. This has changed the game for me, much better results than bs TWS and letting the fox 3 guide himself from the beggining. Help the R77 with you radar and the misile works wonders.
The most important tip in the video, stay alive, my game improved a lot when I understood this. And it's the hardest part to do playing realistic matches at the high tier
im surprised you can even climb 10 km without getting tracked. in my case at every match i'd be climbing at 4k and already have atleast one if not two guys tracking me and by the time i reach 6 km, 5 fox3 is already on my way
you don't need to notch or evade until you get in their range of fire, and then you can count how much time you have left to evade a possible launch, you can also side climb in every top jet you can get to 10kms before you get in enemy's range, if they fire they will miss you (unless you fly into the missile, then it's a skill issue)
@MatAWG when I fly with the F15C I’ll always take 15-20min fuel depends on the size of the map. I use external fuel tanks also to keep my 20 min fuel and drop them when I get into a fight close to 15 km. Works great and k have high kill rounds 🙏🏼 and I always take like 30% flares and 70% chaff with me
this guide changed everything for me, but not because of what mat said (tho these are really great tips), but because i noticed you can launch at multiple guys and track them missile with TWS... yes i'm that stupid
Whenever I try to climb one of two things happens. Either I have to go defensive and get one kill perhaps to and my team cleans them up before I can engage anymore, or I have to go defensive and I get one perhaps to kills In the meantime my entire team gets absolutely stomped and then I'm ganged up on an absolutely murdered. Going Leroy Jenkins at low level, perhaps from a slight angle seems to be the best averaging about three kills.
I'm on console, and every time I use the aim 120. I lock on to an enemy jet every time it misses because my dumb radar keeps losing its track on the jet, and even at 8km, my missile doesn't track. What am I doing wrong?
Many people actually prefer the amraams on tips. They're also selected right away on spawn this way. Its nice since its the first missile you usually use.
Hey Mat what tech tree do you recommend grinding as I have the whole china tree( a joke rn) and rank 7 Israel tree. So what would be a good tree to go for?
Depends on the range but i do that aswell as try to lead the missile before firing. but it probably doesnt't matter as much now with fox 3's because their energy retention is so good
It does the higher and faster you are the higher probability of kill you will have on the target crank left or right and usually after about 5-10 seconds I go cold and get splashes from 30+ miles every time
@@Vengeance4308 erm i don't know if you can call it lofting as that is what the missile does after it goes active to increase it's range ☝🤓 but yes in theory it should increase it's range because the missile doesn't have to turn up or manouver as much to reach it's desired lofting trajectory. If the plane your shooting is too close the missile will not loft thus defeating the purpouse of "chucking the missile".
Ignore this video altogether. Do the following (no right order): HOW TO ENGAGE FOX-3 WEAPONRY: 1. Use every Fox-3 except R-77s, they're pretty underwhelming compared to any other (especially the AIM-120) 2. Disconsider the previous step, use only AIM-120s. 3. Fire at any range and/or angle, it really doesn't matter (the AIM-120 will perform better than any IR missile at close range so don't worry) HOW TO AVOID FOX-3 WEAPONRY ("Notching" and/or "Cranking" as we experts call it): OBS: If you didn't follow the previous section correctly, go back and re-read it. 1. You can't.
😂😂For the Americans, yes... But go play the Russians with their crappy radar and their R77 in sim and you'll see that it's worse than in RB because in simu the teams are not balanced in the same way.

I think realistically 2026 2027 if they continue like this with the updates

How do you move that thing on the radar scope to the target you want ?
How do you guys launch at such great distances? I can only launch under 10km's. What do I need to start doing/using?
your weapon loadout arrangement triggered my ocd.. i need my sidewinders on the wing tips..

its correct loadout, USAF always put AIM-120 on the wing tips

Airforce and national guard runs aim 120 on the wingtips... it's the standard irl loadout.
I was triggered too at first, but then i learned that it (IRL) helps with wing fluttering because it adds more mass to the wing tips.
USAF put it on wing tips in most videos I've seen.
